Nestled into a small strip mall on Ford Road (one of the first you'll hit coming from 14's Ford Rd/M-153 exit) Curry on Crust has 4 small tables where you can sit ad eat, or wait for your takeout. They do not have waiter service in the sense that you order and pay at the counter, but they do bring your food on a metal pizza tray if you are dining in. We dined in last weekend and were floored by the quality of the pizza, friendliness of the staff and brilliance that comes from the unassuming space. We tried two pizzas, 14 (Saag Paneer) and 15 (Paneer Tikka) and also the masala potatoes. Honestly, the potatoes are something we will never order again. While the flavor was nice, they were just soooooo greasy. But, who cares, because the pizza is what you need to focus on. Last night after getting home from a night on the town Kris and I were kicking around dinner ideas for tonight (we usually eat out on Saturday night) and I said, "I gotta tell you, I think I might just drive and pick up pizza from Curry on Crust." Good thing I was driving because he would have gone off the road. I never want to even answer the door to pay the delivery guy, nevermind drive someplace. I drive A TON for my job so getting me to drive on the weekends is not easy. Especially after a week like this last one, and especially after driving close to 200 miles yesterday throughout the day. But, I digress. This morning I woke up thinking about the pizza and I also mentioned it when we were driving home after picking up some groceries this morning. If I am willing to drive 40 minutes (round trip) for pizza, you know it's good. Tonight we got two smalls, a Saag Paneer (again... we figured stick with one you know) and also a Chicken Tikka. I called a few minutes after getting in the car and was told 20-25 minutes and when I arrived about 20 minutes later they were both ready and hot. They were hot even once I got back to Ann Arbor. We also got Veggie Puffs (2) that are HUGE but we haven't tried those yet. We each had one slice and will probably snack a little later on. The boxes (which are not generic, a very nice touch) include reheating directions although the pizza is great room temperature. From concept to execution, there is nothing bad to say about pizza covered in all of my favorite Indian combinations. Can't wait to get it again! read more

Great twist to pizza. Loved the sauces and the toppings. The curries they put on the crust is much much better than what some of the expensive so called Indian restaurants serve. They could very well sell the curries with naan and have people line up outside the place. We had Chicken Tikka and Gobi Manchurian pizzas and I was shocked to find that the veg pizza was the better of the 2. Coming from a non-vegetarian that says a lot. This is such an interesting concept and so delicious. A great way to enjoy Indian-inspired food when you have picky kids to feed as well. We get a cheese pizza and breadsticks for them and then the chili chicken pizza for us. All the sauces are pretty good but the pizzas with Manchurian or makhani sauce are extra good, and the potato wedges are amazing. read more

What a cool concept! We tried a couple of pizzas - one with paneer and one with chicken. Both were delicious and (hurray!) adequately spicy. Also tried the masala potatoes for a side and those were delicious as well. I like my food to have flavor and Indian food sure delivers on that front. The chili cheese bread was sliced white bread with a cheese and chopped chili topping, which was tasty if a bit boring, but the cheese stuck to the wax paper separating the slices. It's counter service, like Neehee's. I ordered my food on the phone and came to pick up and there had been a mix up (which has also happened to me more than once at Neehee's, go figure), and one of the pizzas hadn't been made. So I waited another twenty long, hungry minutes. Finally I went up to the counter to ask, and even though I was sitting right there and was the only person waiting for carryout, my food had come out some minutes before but they hadn't bothered to tell me. Why had I never heard of this before...not just this restaurant, but the entire concept?!? It is BRILLIANT!!! A friend and I each got a large pizza and we each did ours half-and-half...meaning we had a total of four different kinds of pizza. We got varied sauces and toppings and I can legitimately say they were all phenomenal! I am so glad I had more than half my pizza left over. It is SO incredibly flavorful, complex, perfectly doughy but not chewy...I can't say enough good things about it...except that it is not close enough to where I live! Very cool spin on pizza and Indian food. Got two pizzas, one of veggie pizzas and the other was a paneer pizza. They were both very good and better than I expected. Didn't know that such an amazing combination existed until a friend brought it up to me. Similar to others, I was a little skeptical when first looking at the menu but I love pizza and Indian, so can't mess it up too bad. We went as a fairly large group so we got several of the pizzas. Don't get me wrong, I love this place and it's so unique, but a minor complaint is the last few times the sauce has been a bit heavy handed. The bigger reason for the 3 star review is the price increase for gluten free - $15 for four slices of pizza is just so high it restricts how often I eat here. I do love this place. I'm not a big cheese eater so I usually get the spicy veggie pizza without cheese. It's super spicy for my taste buds but I don't get a chance to eat a ton of spicy food. The thing I'm sad about- three times I've been this summer and they have told me the masala chicken wings are sold out. I have a sneaking suspicion they are just not selling them anymore because certainly with an item that popular, they would work on their stick ordering? Anyway, I love the veggie puff pastry which has a nice vegetable curry in the middle of a large flaky pastry. If you like Indian food and pizza, I think you will like most options. I wish I could eat here daily. This pizza is seriously tasty, and is clearly freshly made. I got the Palak Paneer pizza, my fiance got the Chili Chicken pizza. We each got a small and it was plenty of food. The prices were fine, the ambiance was sweet, and again, the pizza... so tasty! I wish it had even more spice to it, but loved it nonetheless. Regrets: - The service was iffy at best. For most of the time we were there, there wasn't anyone at the counter. Thus when we didn't get the water we had asked for, we couldn't really find someone to ask about it. - On that note, water. Often counter service establishments will have a big cooler of water for guests to take from; this would be a great addition to Curry on Crust. - Let's keep going about the water. My cup of water, once I got it, had black dust in the bottom. - The small pizza is cut into 4 pieces. This is an awfully picky suggestion/regret, but I wish it had been 6. The slices were just too large, and somehow having 6 slices in the same pizza might make it feel like you were getting even more. read more

I came to this place with high hopes after seeing all the positive reviews about their pizza. We ordered two different pizzas - the butter chicken pizza and a mango chicken pizza and a garlic bread appetizer. The garlic bread was delicious, but the pizza left much to be desired. In my opinion, both of the pizzas tasted pretty similar because the curry tasted the same. Usually when you go to an Indian restaurant, each entree tastes different because of the various curries and spices used, however, the butter chicken didn't even taste of butter chicken that I've had at authentic Indian restaurants. I believe this place would taste better also if they used a thin crust pizza. The regular crust was way too thick and took away from the pizza's already lack-of flavor. The pizza lacked sauce. So its different, but different good. Its in a small strip mall, north side, way past all the other national chain restaurants and burger joints. Its basically Indian food on a pizza. Its not hot and ready, its pick your toppings, veggy or chicken, and wait 20 minutes - either at the pizza place or explore the other stores in the strip mall. The are exactly 4 tables and 17 chairs - 4 each at the tables and 3 against the wall. And it was crowd, many people picking up their orders. read more

Been wanting to hit this place up with my bro for a long time and finally got the chance. We ordered two veggie puffs and a large pav bhaji pizza. The food aspect of the experience was on point. The pizza was delicious and the puffs were all right as well. The confusing part was the set-up and ordering process. With multiple tables, it's assumed that it would be a "sit-down" and wait-to-order but that was a little confusing. Customers had to get the plates, utensils, and napkins. It obviously isn't a big issue but it operates like a sit-down and a fast-food place at the same time making ordering and stuff more confusing than need be. The bigger issue (that stems from that confusion) is they don't offer water and cups for free. In my opinion, tap water should always be available for no charge. They have bottled water, some soft drinks, and Hawaiian Punch. Since they all seem to have been the same price, it was appropriate to get something other than water. One of the cashiers were a little less than friendly. Overall, the food was great but some of the other aspects could be considered like the set-up and identity of the place (fast food, restaurant, etc). But, the food that we had was really good. We got a Chicken Tikka pizza and a Chili Paneer pizza, both with regular crust. The sauce on the Tikka was quite thinly applied. Next time will order on a thin crust or ask for extra sauce. The Chili Paneer sauce was sweet, but very flavorful and probably more flavorful vs. the Tikka. As others have noted, - For most of the time we were there, there wasn't anyone at the counter. - For dine-in patrons, it would be nice if they could put out a big cooler of water for guests to take from - The small pizza is cut into 4 slices. Wow! The hype is real with this place. I got Curry on Crust for dinner last night after seeing them featured on Local 4 News. I decided to get two pizzas, both with half one kind of 'za and half of another. So all in all I got to try 4 different pizzas! Not bad at all. Every flavor was on point. I seriously don't even think I could choose a favorite. All to the sauces were so savory and spicy and unique from each other. You could tell that the veggies and dough were all fresh too. I also tried the veggie puffs, which were amazing. I actually liked them better than most samosas I've tried. The puff pastry dough was so light and flaky and paired with the spicy, savory stuffing? It was absolutely divine. The staff were so so nice as well, that really stood out to me. I could tell they were getting slammed due to the publicity of the local news feature but they still made time to chat, answer questions, etc. I live 25 minutes away but will absolutely be making the drive to Canton in the future for more Curry on Crust! read more

I've only tried the Chili Chicken Pizza and the Eggplant one but both were delicious, fresh, inventive, and full of flavor!! I also tried the veggie puffs which had an amazing pastry like crush and ground veggies and seasonings inside. Very good. You guys need to expand a bit on your indian cuisine, the butter chicken pizza is ok, but has no right to call itself butter chicken. That is not anything the average cook couldnt make at their house! I very easily could beat that at home.
