    Creamy Italian Salad
    Steven B.

Pizzeria Da Gloria was opening about the same time that I was moving out of St. Louis. I moved across the river to Illinois, so it took me awhile to visit. Now I am embarrassed that it took me as long as it dit to experience their delicious pizzas. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The front dining room is small and charming like a European Cafe. In the back where the bar is located has the feel of a 1970's rathskeller. Both of them give off a comforting feeling. Our server for lunch was Zoe. She was friendly and very attentive. Since my friend had been here before she already knew what she wanted. Zoe was very patient with me as I took my time to select my pizza. I finally decided on a Italian Sausage with Jalapeños. My BFF went with her favorite, Bonci, which is a thinly sliced Eggplant pizza. We both went with the Salad and Pizza Lunch Special. As our salad, we both choose, Creamy Italian. It was a very flavorful salad. My only complaint is that the pieces of mixed greens and lettuce were on the big side. I wish they were chopped in smaller pieces, making it easier to jab with a fork. Our choice of adult beverages were, Limoncello Spritz. It was cool and refreshing. Way better than a glass of soda or iced tea. When: January 13, 2026 Why: Lunch with BFF Will I return: Absolutely

My friends and I met up for lunch the other day at Pizzeria Da Gloria and it was a great experience all around! We made a reservation just in case they were going to be busy and I am glad we did. When we arrived, they were packed and had a wait. It seems like this is a great place to be on a Friday afternoon. Parking was a mess, but I think we were all able to get a spot 2-3 blocks away so it wasn't too bad of a walk. Our server was really friendly and made sure we had water in our glasses at all times and offered other drinks from the menu. She gave us time to look over the menu and recommended the lunch specials. We each ordered a salad with a pizza as part of the lunch special. We each ordered the creamy Italian salad to start with and they were brought out pretty quickly. The salad was so good and it was a decent portion. When the pizzas came out, we were excited to eat and did some sharing sick we each ordered something different. My mushroom pizza was such a good choice. I also was excited to try the stracciatella pizza since my friend ordered that one and it was super tasty. Our server brought over some to go boxes since she knew we weren't going to be able to eat everything. She kindly split the check in 3 for us and gave us time to pack up and pay. The receipt has a QR code so that you can pay from the table instead of using a credit card/cash if you'd like to pay that way (which we did)! Overall, I am so glad to know they have a lunch special and can see myself going back again for another visit since their pizza is so good!

Pizzeria Da Gloria is one of my favorite if not my favorite pizza spot. I love the pepperoni pizza which includes jalapeno's and I always add mushrooms. The pizza has a crispy chewy crust and the perfect ratio of thinness to toppings, so you can taste every ingredient with each bite. I have also tried the eggplant pizza which is spicy and equally as good. We love their Caesar salad which has the perfect amount of dressing to salad ratio. The tanginess of the anchovy against the mounds of parmesan cheese and croutons is delectable. The pizzas are 12in and we usually order an additional side or two to compensate and we're fine. I've eaten inside and on the patio and both were enjoyable experiences. They have a nice seasonal cocktail menu and the bartender knows how to mix a good drink. My favorite is their blackberry margarita when you can catch it in season with a sugar rim, this cocktail is absolutely phenomenal! The wait staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions when deciding on trying something new. I usually try to catch one of the seasonal pizza specials as well. I recommend this spot to newcomers all the time.

Make a reservation to be on the safe side. Not a lot of seating inside, but have a patio as well. Quaint setting , open kitchen, comfortable atmosphere. The menu includes salads, starters, bar choices, but come for the pizza. Oven fired, nice and delicious crust, thin but not a cracker. Many combinations of meat and cheeses from which to choose. About a 12" size. Prices typical. You're on the Hill...all just right!

Sat on the patio on a nice day, and the food was fresh and delicious. I think the pesto pizza could use a bit more pesto (despite how green it is) but it was still very good. I loved how fresh everything was on the cheese board

Pepperoni and pickled jalapenos. We peppers on half so my son would eat it. Tasty!

Unusual for us to try a pizza place we've never been to before when we're on the Hill instead of one of our known favorites, but it was the MIL's birthday and she wanted pizza for dinner. This place had some good recommendations, so we tried it and weren't disappointed. Our server was a little bit slow and screwed up (maybe it was the back of the house, IDK) one of my two pizzas, but I was having a nice time and didn't feel the need to bring the mistake up even though I wouldn't eat the pizza, my wife and daughter would the next day. The pizzas are cooked in a wood burning oven and are fantastic. The crust is nice and chewy with just the right amount of crunch. They sell their dough balls to go for $5 as well! I had several pumpkin beers and completely forgot about the dough balls. Next time. The place is bigger than I thought it would be from the outside. There's a bar in the back in addition to the seating in the front. The kitchen is open so you can see the crew making the food. My wife and daughter enjoyed a salad which was easily big enough for two people to split. If you're in the mood for a good sit down pizza meal and don't want another Imo's style STL style pizza (I like them as much as the next guy, but variety is the spice of life and all that, right?) this is a great place to try.

What a sweet little pizza shop discovery in The Hill! If you're in this area, you can probably anticipate that parking would be difficult to find, but it wasn't too bad for a Wednesday dinner. I made sure to make a reservation because this was highly recommended, and I'm sure glad I did. It's a busy and bustling place! You know it's going to be good if there are lots of people enjoying their food. The meatballs were yummy, but the pizza with all the mushrooms on it was incredible! Delicious dough and perfect balance of white sauce, cheese, and mushrooms. Ambiance is great for a cute date night or a time with friends

    Pumpkin vodka pizza
    Kimberly W.

I'm a huge fan of pumpkin anything, so when I saw that this place had a pumpkin vodka pizza, I jumped at the chance to try it. Keep in mind that I did carry out, so I can't really speak to the service, though the person who handed me my order was nice enough. It was also a pretty quick turnaround. Maybe 25 minutes at most, from ordering to getting the food. The pizza itself was very fresh, delicious, and pretty unique. The one criticism I would give, however, is on the side of sauce in the box. They should probably look at taping that container or keeping it separate, as I ended up with a garlic scented box, as the container spilled its contents while I was driving. Fortunately, my box of tissues and Blues magnet calendar took the bulk of the hit, but it was a bit messier than intended. Still, I would return, though I'll skip the side of sauce next time.

The pizza is so great we sat in the outside tent and love the vibe and people are enjoying time and wine together! Parking is on the street but service is great will definitely come back and try other flavors!

Cute pizzeria on The Hill. Made a reservation through their website. Lots of drink selections, wine and beer. Great salads and pizza. We selected a pizza that the proceeds would aid tornado victims. Nice!! St. Louis style with provel cheese it was delicious. Bonus for me that they offer turkey sausage. Salads were fresh and drinks were cold. Nice staff and a cute restaurant.

Popped in for lunch on the patio on a nice day. Pizzas were delicious, wood fired. One was a little burnt on the crust more than it should be but overall better than your average pizza. Service was quick, will definitely be back.

    Bonci pizza
    Patrick C.

Great specialty pizzas if you like thin crust with thick outer border of crust and specialty toppings. Bonci is my favorite. Pizza is always perfectly cooked and is wood-fired pizza. Meatballs are good too. Not a huge dining spot so would recommend reservations for dinner. Service personnel is nice. Cool to see the open kitchen atmosphere.

There's a charming patio out front, if you want it. You can settle in for a long dinner, post up at the bar for the night, or grab a quick bite before heading out on the town. Bartenders are warm and approachable, and the in-house mixology is confident without any "we spent 30 hours perfecting this" pretense. The whole experience is like Sam Malone the bartender (save the drama) at Cheers: friendly, self-assured, the kind of place that makes you feel like you could spend all night there without anyone rushing you. We had a Paper Plane and an Old Fashioned -- the latter served over a custom ice cube stamped with a double ax (a nod to the wood fire). The cocktail list leans classic and reliable: if you know you like gin or vodka, you'll find something easy here. The espresso martini is the standout, it works as a dessert drink or any other time of the meal. We started with the Smorgasbord instead of our usual garlic knots (which are their own delicacy), and it didn't disappoint: toasted brioche with mascarpone and strawberry jam, several cured meats (capicola, prosciutto, pepperoni), parmesan, gouda, dried cherries, and chutney. My one nitpick; the pepperoni and gouda were tiny cubes, which makes them tough to grab cleanly compared to the sliced parmesan or rolled prosciutto. In this situation give the man a toothpick. The tallow-fried wings are, in my opinion, the best in St. Louis. The beef-tallow-and-potato-starch breading produces a tempura-like texture and crunch that keeps them light. Adventurous-but-classic sauces, bourbon butter BBQ, buffalo, and pineapple honey habanero (legitimately spicy; bring backup). The wings stand on their own without sauce. For pizza, we got the Napoli (tomato, fresh and smoked mozzarella, arugula, parmesan, black pepper, olive oil) -- her standing favorite. Expect proper Neapolitan: soft center, thin crust, charred crisp edge. Don't lift and bite fold it. (She insists: no fork. I use a fork - I know how dare I!) The pizza menu reads creative but never gimmicky; meat-lovers, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-conscious diners all have real options. Before Kyle took over, Pizzeoli was known as a vegan-forward spot, and that flexibility lives on. We closed with the seasonal ice cream sandwich, fresh-pressed pizzelle wafers, crème brûlée ice cream, and a torched marshmallow cap. Excellent. A couple of practical notes: they're dinner-only (4-9:30) and the new reservation phone line is a robo call. Easier to use the online waitlist or book online directly. Pizzeoli is dressed-down-or-dressed-up friendly, kid-welcoming, and somehow works equally well for a pre-game stop or your dinner of the week. I've never had a bad dish here, and there are several I come back for specifically -- Lesley for the Napoli, me for the wings. 4.9 stars out of 5. If that toothpick shows up, a perfect 5. ;) Worth the trip across town, an hour drive for a long dinner, if it were open for lunch, the suggestion for two trips in one day would be welcomed or two-days in a row.

The lady letting us in was super nice. Asked us if it was our first time in (she recognized some of the locals in line) and we said yes. It's a fairly small place, so instead of taking up seating inside, we just sat at the bar. There is outside seating. The bartender was super nice, his name was Daniel and he's the one that took our order. Unfortunately, he was the only one. So once it started to get busier, service went downhill. And at the time we were the only ones sitting at the bar. Until we were getting ready to leave, and then there were more people, but he was still the only bartender. As far as the food, we ordered the Arancini and 2 separate pizzas. We like to try Arancini at different places we travel to. This one wasn't too bad. You could taste the saffron and it was heavy on the Parmesan. The pizza was just OK. At the time. Unfortunately, mine ended up making me sick by the time I got back to the hotel and the remainder of the evening/night. So to say that we will be back there, probably not.

I was visiting St. Louis for the first time and I wanted to try foods that St. Louis was known for…read more(according to online research) and toasted ravioli kept popping up. Being from the Bay Area in California, I had never heard of toasted ravioli so I added it to my itinerary. I found this place on Yelp and saw that Guy Fieri (another Bay Area native) had featured it on his show so I settled on Anthonino's. I walked over from the Botanical Garden on a Friday afternoon around 12pm so that I could get a better feel of the streets, locals, surrounding shops, and the Hill neighborhood. The area was very calm, clean, safe and had a sense of pride. I enjoyed the sights and sounds throughout the streets and by the time I arrived at the front door, I was super excited to eat. I was seated quickly at the bar and given a menu and water. The bar staff were friendly and pleasant to talk to and also took my order within a few minutes. The restaurant quickly filled up behind me and it was a lively environment. I really appreciated that the TVs had sports shows on (huge sports fan and was in town to visit Busch Stadium) so it gives you something to look at. I ordered the toasted ravioli and a tiramisu. As a solo traveler, I have to limit how much I can order so this was the perfect amount for me. The food was amazing and I wished that I could have tried more plates. The ravioli had great flavors and texture and the tiramisu was so creamy and fresh. I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself. The customer service from all staff members was amazing! Thank you for this experience :)

While traveling through Missouri, my wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner. I searched…read moreYelp and came across Anthonino's. I also remembered seeing it featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so we figured it had to be worth a try. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but noticed a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there instead. The two bartenders welcomed us right away and told us they would take good care of us throughout the evening. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I started with an Old Fashioned. For an appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($14), which is handmade in-house and filled with ground beef, ricotta, and pecorino romano cheese, served with marinara sauce. It's one of the dishes featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. For dinner, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala ($23), and I went with the Bolognese ($17), made with veal, pork, red wine gravy, cresta di gallo pasta, stracciatella, and Calabrian chili oil. The toasted ravioli arrived looking great. I tried one without the sauce first. The fresh pasta didn't fry up quite the way I expected. It was more flaky than crispy, and I was hoping for a little more crunch. The filling was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The marinara sauce also had a bitterness to it that wasn't my favorite. When our entrées arrived, both dishes looked and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite live up to the presentation. My wife's Chicken Marsala had good flavor overall, but the side pasta was very gummy, and the sauce again had a bitter note that seemed to overpower the dish. My Bolognese was the biggest disappointment of the evening. When I think of Bolognese or a rich meat ragù, I usually expect a wider pasta such as pappardelle. The cresta di gallo pasta wasn't my favorite choice for the dish, and it also had a gummy texture. The sauce itself suffered from the same bitterness that we noticed throughout the meal. Looking back, I probably should have ordered the Carbonara once I realized the Bolognese wasn't being served with the type of pasta I was hoping for. Overall, the meal was okay, but it didn't quite meet the expectations we had after seeing the restaurant featured on television and reading the reviews. The service was excellent, and the bartenders did a fantastic job taking care of us. While this visit was a bit disappointing, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that looked great, and I would be willing to give Anthonino's another try and order something different.

I was still pretty full from our earlier dinner, but I tried one slice of what I belief was the margherita pizza. The cheese was super gooey, the crust was nice and crispy, and the olive oil base gave it a nice and rich feel. Good pizza! Everyone else was happy with their slices too. I will say the toppings are generally covered by cheese and so if you don't know what was ordered you might wind up with a bite of something you don't like (as was the case for my heat-averse aunt who got a big mouthful of jalapeño on one of her slices). Easy enough problem to avoid though! Grateful for local place that could feed a bunch of hungry people! Give Leo's a try. My family in St. Louis definitely enjoys it, as did I!

Also the place was empty so maybe we called in the order during a dinner rush hense the 95 min wait, again NBD. An employee pulled the pizza out tossed in in the counter and walked away. Then a younger employee walked up to the counter and collected money. I'm hoping the older man was just having a bad day, but being rude in 2 different manners is not a good look. When we get home and started to enjoy this pie half way into eating a slice was a nice piece of rubber, kind of looking like a hair tie or something. Now that's a huge turn off. First experience and now the last. Sorry folks but bad attitude and a foreign object is at all not appealing.
