My boyfriend and I are both lactose intolerant and we saw that they have a Marinara style pizza with no cheese which we were excited to try. They had a deal a while ago of 2 pizzas for $22 but when we called to order, they said that deal only works for NY Style or Old World style. We explained we can't do those since we can't have cheese and asked to do the marinara style instead (which also happens to be cheaper than the other two). Unfortunately they weren't willing to honor the request which we were pretty disappointed and surprised by, given that it's the cheaper option. We ended up not getting the two pizzas and ordered an XL of the Marinara Style with half arugula and prosciutto and half pepperoni and mushrooms. The pepperoni and mushroom was definitely better out of the two. Lots of pepperoni which was nice. On the other half, there was a ton of arugula it's all raw, and the prosciutto doesn't taste the freshest. It was okay but wouldn't order those toppings again. Also wish they split it a bit more evenly between the two flavors, there was definitely more prosciutto and arugula than the pepp and mushroom. Overall, decent pizza and appreciate that they have an option for people who are lactose intolerant, but wish they were better with customer service and were more willing to accommodate our request. Without a doubt one of the top pizzas in the city. I had heard great things for some time and finally got to try it recently. Disappointed it took me so long to get here. My favorite part was probably the small amount of cheese on it. This might not be everyone's thing, and I'm sure you could ask for extra cheese, but I hate when pizza places use so much cheese that it is all you taste and makes the pizza soggy/greasy. They offer plain, pepperoni, and special of the day slice options. You can also order whole pizzas. I got a pepperoni slice and the daily sausage and ricotta option. The best pizza in the Burgh! We generally do takeout but sometimes in the summer will grab a pizza and sit outside at the picnic tables. We love the cheesesteak, sriracha wings, and garlic knots as starters. The cheesesteak is one of my all time favorites! As for pizza, we usually do the NY style but just depends on your personal favorite style. I'm a big fan of their spicy sausage and pepperoni or a nice cheese and basil. When Pizzeria Davide is firing on all cylinders, it's a damn good slice of pizza. I've run into some issues here and there over the years - the most egregious being an undercooked pizza which is a first for me. My most recent visit, I arrived a little early as I wanted to purchase a Tshirt. There was general confusion as to how to ring it up, how much it cost, and where the shirts are located. A woman came.to the register and just rang me up for a large pizza for $18 and change since she didn't know where to enter the shirt. I told her it was $22 on their website but she said it was fine so I just tipped an extra $3. In runs the original gentleman that was working the register who now insists it's $25. I didn't want to make a fuss and just gave him $6 extra in cash - no big deal. As he gets someone to come help him ring in the extra cash he keeps mentioning $5... Which I find odd. Lo and behold he rings in $5 to the register and pockets the extra $1. I was somewhat shocked he did this in front of me. Especially since he gave me the wrong size shirt anyhow (not a big deal, using it for a quilt). Now, back to the food. The pizza was perfectly cooked. But I also ordered the cheese sticks that had zero crisp whatsoever. They were salvaged by the delicious basil mayo (or at least I thought that's what it was) dipping sauce. Phenomenal. Best 'Za in the 'burgh and I'm a Jersey girl so I know good pizza!!! We got take out from here on Sunday night and were delighted with the pizza. We ordered an extra large pepperoni NY style, an extra large mushroom and sopressatta, and prosciutto roses! Huge pizzas, all of that food put us around $68 split between 4 people and was well worth it. All of us were stuffed and we had leftovers. We stumbled across this place the last night of our visit and were glad we did! The pizza was great, and we were able to purchase by the slice (pepperoni or cheese only) so everyone got what they wanted. It's outside eating or take-away only. While there was quite a long line at some points, many people were just picking up pies and leaving. The prices were also very reasonable, four of us ate for about $21 which was less than we paid for ice cream a couple of hours earlier. read more

My wife and I went to Pizzeria Davide the other night for dinner. I got a large cheese pie to go. The pizza had a good taste and was really cheesy. The staff where nice and very friendly. Only thing i did not like was that only seating was outside and that did not appeal to me at all. You walk up to a window to order like a rita's ices. I finally gave pizza Davide a try and I am not disappointed. I ordered a small old world pizza via door dash. The pizza was not hot on arrival, so, I had to reheat it. I added mushrooms as additional topping on one half on the pizza. They were very generous with the mushroom portion. The tomato sauce was so delicious and the thin crust was crunchy on the outside. I've gotten Davide from all three locations as takeout orders in the last two years, and the pizza is always fresh and delicious! Stopped at the original location for a post-Good Friday service lunch (pizza is a great alternative a fish fry, in my opinion) and enjoyed a slice of old world style pizza and some cheese roses (dough rolled like little cinnamon buns, with cheese and spices instead of sweet filling). My husband tried their slice of the day (not pictured, but a white pizza with broccoli and tomato, as well as a massive fish sandwich. Service was a little slow, but the sun was shining and we didn't mind too much. Initially they provided us with the wrong slice of pizza but they amended it swiftly and were very kind. We got the old school with soppresseta and mushrooms, cacio e Pepe and broccolini and a plain nyc style. All of them were delicious, but hands down my favorite was the sopresetta and mushroom. I stopped by here this past Saturday night for dinner with my wife. Pizza Davide was actually my next pizza pick to head to with friends and then the pandemic happened and I forgot about it for a while. Thankfully a Yelp event brought it back up in my head which was enough to cause my wife and I to make plans to head there. We placed our order via their website for a 6:45 PM pickup time and arrived right at that time. As I was waiting in line I got a text letting me know that our pizzas were ready and so it ended up being perfect timing. Pizza Davide consists of a takeout window on the back side of DiAnoias where you can order your pizza and pick it up. Outside of that window they they have a number of picnic tables spread out so that you can eat the pizza there if you so choose. For dinner on this evening my wife and I had a hard time deciding on just one pizza and so we decided to get two. Then as I looked at the menu we decided the price difference between the small and the large wasn't too great which led me to decide that two large pizzas were the way to go and we ordered a cacio e Pepe and a Lebanon & pepper relish. The menu described the cacio e Pepe as an Alfredo based sauce with broccoli, mozzarella, & finished with black pepper, Parmesan and olive oil while the Lebanon and pepper relish was described as an old world style pizza topped with Lebanon sweet bologna and pepper relish and finished with Parmesan, oregano and basil. Both of the pizzas ended up being delicious as they both shared a thin and crunchy crust. The cacio had a strong pepper flavor to it which was nice while the broccoli added a little green and made it feel a little healthier while the Alfredo sauce made it a bit creamy. Then the Lebanon bologna pizza was all about the bologna and relish as it should have been. The pepper relish added a nice zing to some of the bites while the bologna was delicious. I also appreciated the sporadic bites of basil I got with it for both the taste as well as freshness it added to the pizza. When all was said and done, both my wife and I tapped out without finishing both of the pizzas, unsurprisingly, and I ended up enjoying them a second time for lunch the next day. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I really enjoyed both pizzas and I would be interested in trying some of their other favors like the soppresata or prosciutto ones! read more

You can order online or at the window. I had issues with the online ordering so I called to place my order and did not have issues with bring charged twice. We tried the famous old world and loved the flavor and fresh ingredients. The New York with hot honey and soppresatta was also a hit and was quite spicy. The pizza is a thinner crust and wood fired with the perfect balance of crunch and chewy. Best of all, the pizza was fantastic cold and reheated the next day. I honestly can't speak to how good their pie was, but it sure did look and smell enticing! Instead my pal and I parked it at an outdoor bistro table and watched the world go by in the Strip District. We got our people watching on while sipping some local brews. I also managed to find an outlet to recharge my phone on. Winning! The staff was cool and prompt with our brews. Every one I've gotten has been packed full of shaved ribeye with cheese melded in between each of the layers, all wrapped in a crisp yet pillow-y hoagie roll. I especially love that they really sear the ribeye so you get a few crispy and wonderfully charred pieces here and there. This will be a review of Pizzeria Davide in the Strip District. I ordered online via their site, and noticed that there were 2 email notifications with the exact same order but different order numbers. Also, there was a double pending charge on the credit card at first. I decided to phone them and ask if there was a way to cancel the second order, and the man on the phone said he would only make 1 of the orders and I would not be charged for the second order. They handled the situation really well, and I was pretty sure it was a mistake on my part or with Upserve. My order consisted of a large Old World pizza, seasonal cannoli, and classic cheesecake. I would rate the pizza a 7.2/10. Definitely a good pizza although it is quite sauce heavy. Not to say that "there isn't enough cheese," they just don't overdo it like some other places do, which I like. The structure of the pie is unique as well: sauce on the top and cheese on the bottom. The sauce has a decent amount of sweetness to it, although I would prefer it to be a bit tangier for more contrast. Size-wise, it was quite large: around 16" for a large, but they also have small and XL sizes. The only issue I had with the pizza was with the crust, which was too tough in my opinion. Seasonal fig cream cannoli was not very good unfortunately. The cream itself was thick enough, although a bit gritty. I could not taste the fig. The outer shell was not crispy and did not enrich the cannoli experience. Cheesecake was simple and classic, nothing that wowed me but I believe it is homemade so always nice to choose homemade sweets over factory made varieties like in some restaurants. Overall, I would give the place 3 or 3.5/5 based solely on food, but the atmosphere and the way they handled the double order situation merited a 4 from me. I may return to try some of there more unique pies and appetizers but I doubt I will order cannoli! read more

We tried three items- their margherita pizza, garlic knots and the meatball bomb. We liked the pizza the best- it held up really well, it was not one of those sloppy limp pizzas that are a mess to eat (I mean those taste good too lol). The flavors were great and the crust was AWESOME. I can't wait to try some more pizza options- we kept it simple for our first time. The meatball bomb was our second favorite item- it did get a little soggy in the transport home but it was still delicious. You can't go wrong with their meatball recipe. So delicious. And the pesto and pizza dough surrounding the meatball was delicious too. The garlic knots I was not impressed with at all. They weren't even knots.. just greasy balls of pizza dough. Not good. I ordered takeout from the Pizzeria Davide location in the Strip District via their website and had a great end to end experience. The food was ready right within the estimated time listed online and I received emails and texts confirming the status of my order (received, processed, ready). Pickup was easy and the pizza held up great after driving back to the South Hills. Slices were enormous and filling so I luckily had leftovers! I love thin crust pizza so this really hit the spot. My favorite part is the crust, you can really taste the quality in the flour used and I could honestly just dip the plain crust in olive oil. Pizza nicely distributed cheese and sauce and that sweet bologna - yum! Each slice had at least one big slice of the meat and it was the perfect compliment to the sweet pepper relish.
