Had lunch here to celebrate my daughter's end of basketball season. That staff was very friendly. They were also very patient, dealing with 5th and 7th grade girls dancing and moving around a lot. The food was really good. I had the fish and my husband had veal. I don't care too much for veal, but this was really good. Strong drink too. My husband was pleased with his Old Fashion. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Came here on a Tuesday evening and the indoor seating was pretty full. We got seated right away but we waited about 10 minutes for the menu. There were other people that sat after us and got menus before us. We have to asked to get the menu. The waiter actually walked away to help the table behind us while taking our dessert order. My toddler was ignored the whole dinner service. She didn't get water. While everybody got a plate for the appetizer, my toddler was once again ignored. I had to asked for a plate. The foods were ok. We reordered drinks but we didn't get it until after finishing the entree. Service was definitely lacking compared to others. We came back to NY for a christening and after the service the family booked here. They had a nice Mother's Day menu with a lot of selections . I had the shrimp cocktail and sea bass for the main , wife had fruta de mare which is a calamari salad and filet of sole oreganata. All the food we had was great and nice portions . The service was very good and the ambiance was a bit on the loud side . As there was alot of tables in the room we were in. Prices varied at least today from like 30-60 depending what section you picked from. All and all another good experience here and valet parking was a nice touch. read more

This has been a well established old world Italian restaurant the likes of might have been alluded to in Billy Joel's, "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant. So we decided to visit it for ourselves. Place is classic older decore catering hall ambiance with crystal clad ceiling lighting and simple wall decorations. It feels big inside when accompanied to our table by a lovely hostess. Placed at a 4 Top, the place at 4pm was 3/5 filled on the side we were seated. Immediately a nice gentleman offered water and someone else brought bread and butter. There was olive oil on the table. The bread was room temp. I prefer warm. I like oil on my bread so I added some and it was ok. No real polyphenol burn. So I ended up salting and peppering it. We ordered a Frutti di Mare appetizer and the waiter, a nice gentleman dressed the part in white buttoned shirt, black tie and black vest had taken it upon himself to split and and offered a general joke about sharing with my wife. Good ice breaker for those that enjoy engaging with staff. It was fine. Certainly not the best but did require salt and pepper. We got finished our respective late enough for each portion from the split. My wife ordered the Spaghetti Marrechierre where the pasta was perfectly al dente and the tomato sauce was flavorful but thin to my liking. Pls try of seafood in shell easily removed. She finished it and felt full. I had the tricolor pasta primavera which came piled high with blanched veggies of broccoli, zucchini, carrot, diced tomatoes and maybe some others. It was in a clear sauce. On its own lacking flavor so I added mounds of Parmesan cheese to perk it up. For this meal, I would have enjoyed the choice of how the vegetables could be cooked such as sautéed or roasted. That would have upped the flavor quotient significantly. Though full, we opted for dessert and partook of the zabaglione served cold over the strawberries. We split it and it was as expected quite sweet and well formed into a custard consistency. All gone. We each had the house Chianti which was basic but palatable. All Items seemed well priced. Might return down the road. Certainly not the best but quite decent for your basic Italian cuisine. This could be the greatest Italian restaurant in NY, kid you not. The tastes here are like out Italy, where you get dishes like burrata and eggplant and mozzarella and nothing tastes like it ever has before. The ingredients and flavors are on a whole other level - I haven't had eggplant and cheeses and pastas that taste like this since Rome. Get the rigatoni Norma, the burrata, and pile on that free eggplant dip they give you with bread which is the greatest eggplant of my life! From making the reservation by phone until dessert on Sunday April 13th, the entire experience was excellent! Definitely worth the trip from Brooklyn. We received a warm welcome from the car valet and the host. Entering the restaurant, we felt like we were at a family member's home. Two years ago on Palm Sunday, I ate here and enjoyed the "Sunday Sauce Special", and was looking forward to it this Sunday. And I certainly was not disappointed. The only thing is, the waiter said it comes with pasta so we had to substitute ravioli. Like the last time, Ravioli should be included...it's a traditional Italian Palm Sunday Dinner. So I'll probably make this a tradition having dinner at Nino's every Palm Sunday. I will also definitely have more dinners at Nino's throughout the year. Went here for Easter Sunday dinner with my family and the waiter was very very rude and unprofessional!! He first came over after 20 min of waiting to say he wanted to go home that he's been there since 10:30! I mean really? Then he was annoyed about any questions or change requests about the menu. One of the most underrated Italian restaurants on Staten Island. In an area where there are so many Italian restaurants to choose from this is one of the best, with great prices, high quality food, nice portions and always great service. The food has always been consistently good. The fried calamari is cooked perfect and not chewy at all. We also had the muscles that were so fresh. All of the entrees ordered were excellent and we even forced ourself to have dessert - so many are made in house and excellent, especially the tira misu. We catered food for my birthday this past Sunday. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The baked ziti was perfect, and even though we ordered a half tray, they gave it to us in a long flat tray that made it so much easier to heat up and serve. The chicken francese was delicious, the sauce was perfect and it easy to cut with just a fork. When I went there to pick up the order, everyone couldn't have been nicer, from the manager, to the person who helped me bring the trays to the car, to the valet, who spun my car around for me in the parking lot so I could just jump in when I came back out with the food. I came here for lunch with family after finishing the Five Boro Bike Tour earlier in the morning. It's upscale restaurant. I don't think they have a dress code but I looked underdressed with athletic clothes. It's a big space and they had two private parties going on in addition to table service. We sat outdoors in their patio which is beside their garden. It's a pretty space and nice to overview all the freshly growing produce while dining. They've got a huge wine list with options for many regions and a focus on Italians. We ended up settling on a barbaresco by Michele Chiarlo from 2013. We're huge fans of wines from Piedmont and this one did not disappoint. Four of us shared four appetizers and three main courses. It was a lot of food and we ended up taking quite a bit home. For appetizers, we shared a mixed seafood salad, fried calamari, stuffed artichoke, and eggplant rollatini. All of them were outstanding. The olive oil based dressing on the seafood salad was a perfect pairing and allowed the seafood to shine. The fried calamari was crispy and well seasoned. The eggplant rollatini was my favorite of the bunch. For our main courses, we shared the farfalle with polpette di vitello which was veal meatballs with bow tie pasta in a tomato sauce served with ricotta. It was my favorite entree! The meatballs were superb! We also had the risotto frutti di mare which was a seafood risotto in a red sauce. This was a favorite at our table. We also had a shrimp scampi in a lemon sauce risotto. The service was very attentive and quick. We were the only group sitting outside yet they never forgot about us. Our waters were always filled. The table was promptly cleaned after each course and the dishes all seemed to come out together and quickly. The service was awesome! read more

I can't get over the pasta they served at this restaurant when I went for my sister's engagement party. It was sooo good-- I was scrapping the side of the dish to finish everything. literal *chef's kiss* even my picky parents love their food! Took my MIL here for her birthday. I actually didn't have a reservation, but the host managed to get us a table for 4. We were served kindly and efficiently without feeling at all rushed. The food is fantastic! Pricey, but worth it. Amazing seafood, fantastic pasta and incredible vegetarian choices. I don't make it out to Staten Island that often, but I will try to return to Nino's for special occasions. The staff and the ambience made us feel fancy and special. We went there for my Daughters Boyfriend Birthday. Of course he received the award winning Ninos Happy Birthday send off. The inside of the restaurant is decorated nice and the tables & chairs are comfortable and spacious. It had a nice temperature & ambiance (9.5) The food was prepared with fresh ingredients, looked fantastic, served at the correct temperatures and tasted outstanding. We had the Grouper special of the day, Chicken Parm, Caesar Salad, Mozzarella/Corozza & Baked Clams. (9.5) The valet parking is very easy to access, safe & well staffed. (10) The service was absolutely flawless. We never wanted for anything. The only possible way to get better service would be to hire 2 waiters & 1 busboy to service us full time. I could not believe how this waiter could remember like a dozen special dishes including their detailed breakdown, preparation & presentation. Our bus boy Sam was on top of everything.
