Believe the hype. This is excellent pizza. Keep in mind that it is a specific kind of pizza, so if you were thinking of a cheese bomb with basic toppings, this ain't it. This is more like a traditional neopolitan pie with a slightly chewy, charred crust and beautifully orchestrated toppings. We got three pies for a Friday night gathering. The Italian is hauntingly good with spicy Italian sausage and Anaheim peppers. Some other stuff too. It was a feeding frenzy. The Margherita came with plenty of basil and flavorful bits of cheese spread out well on the pie. The lawn boy was my personal favorite. The artichokes tasted like they were marinated to work specifically on this pizza. The pesto sauce supported a nice hit of garlic. Topped with arugula, it was a total delight. I also recommend a slice for breakfast the next day. Order more pizza than you think you need. You won't regret it. Also get the hot sauce for the side. The yellow one is the hotter one. I dont know what kind of chili they're using in there, but you will want to be emotionally prepared for the impact. Service was so friendly and fun. You might want to eat there but there is very limited parking, and it really is set up as more of a takeout place. Yes there are tables, but they are not promoting ambiance here. Which is fine. Pizzeria lui is still the best pizza I've had in 2026. What makes them unique is the crust, freshness of the ingredients and the pairing of the toppings. I wouldn't deviate and go custom. Did the dough / crust change?! Grabbed a pie last week and ate it there. The crust was a hard crust and had a crackle to it. For me, it wasn't enjoyable :( I really enjoyed when it was soft / light / fluffy with the bubble char on it -- I first came to Pizzeria Lui in 2019 or 2020 and it was soft / fluffy then. Great pizza with a crispy bottom and good flavor. We got the mushroom for $23 with the small pepperoni cups, big dollops of sausage and plump mushrooms. Ingredients seemed fresh and we loved trying all of the hot sauces which had a good range of heat. I especially love the flat iron dry chili peppers and the medium hot sauce. They only have one size pizza and it was perfect for 2 people. We went on a Thursday night around 6:30pm and only 1 table of 5 had customers so we decided to eat our pizza there. By the time we left, all the tables were taken. Service was friendly and they came around to check on us while we were eating. I liked that they have a water dispenser so you can fill up yourself. It's no frills, just a nice quick spot to eat yummy pizza in Lakewood. We will definitely be back and share the good word with others. read more

Really good pizza. Crust is flavorful with a wonderful balance between crunch and chew. Fresh toppings including some fresh Basil leaves they will throw on top after the bake. We had both the Original and the Shroom. The jalapeños on the original were fresh and spicy! I think I liked the Shroom just a little more. Their larger chunks of mushroom was better than the normal pizza place w thin slices. Cup pepperoni and decent sized chunks of sausage were all excellent. We got a $20 bottle of wine (Chianti) which was like a nice house wine in Italy. Pizza is served in a rack elevated over a pan which helped it maintain its crispiness while we ate in. Not sure how it holds up in a to-go box so recommend eating in if possible. read more

Some of the best pizza we've had in a while! Inside is a small space with about 5 tables for eat in customers. Their waits are pretty long and we did have a hiccup with some miscommunication with staff. Still giving it a 5-star rating because the pizza was delicious and the manager/owner (not sure which he was) was extremely apologetic over communication breakdown. The Original was too spicy for me, but my partner loved it; make sure to get a side of hot honey for some extra spice. I ordered the Lawn Boy which was delicious! The homemade pesto had such a good flavor. DO NOT SKIP IN GETTING A SIDE OF RANCH! Overall it was a pricy meal (~$20 a pizza) but it is worth trying given the reputation. read more

This is the place you go so you can mock them immediately after. "Best in Denver" yeah, right (though, admittedly, the bar is set low). As I wait to order, some clown is complaining about the 40 minute wait. Really? I've been given 90-120 minute wait times in other states. I knew going in I wanted "The Italian" with housemade sausage and a slew of other ingredients. Gentleman asks if I'd like complimentary hot sauce. Sure! Why not. 40 minutes? I could swear it took no more than 25. Open the box and my mouth dropped. Wow. This looked awesome. Went outside and took a bite. The verdict? This was one of the best pizzas I've had in my life, and I'm from the NJ/NY/Philadelphia area. "The Italian" is so unique, yet classic. The crust? Fucking perfect. Razor thin with the absolute PERFECT crispness. I had two slices and tried one with the hot sauce - next thing I knew, I was drizzling it on the pizza. Recently had an opportunity to try Pizzeria Liu for dinner. Parking for the restaurant is limited and we had to park a few blocks away. Seating is also limited so, grab what you can, is what we learned. The pizza does take some time since they had multiple orders before us, we tried the mamacita and garlic bread sticks. The Samaritan was good, the ricotta was fresh and added some nice layering to the crispy crust. The bread sticks were delicious with a mix of parmesan and garlic that stuck nicely to the bread. This location is in an suspecting area so good id you are on that side of town but not something we will be driving to very often. read more

Pizzeria Lui needs to be in the conversation for best pizza in Denver. I don't take this bold claim lightly either. Not only do I dine out a lot, but I'd like to think I know my way around a pizza. This is my type of pizza, and I'm sure some people will disagree. The Lakewood spot is a hidden gem off the beaten path. Even though they brand themselves as more of a takeout spot, there are a few tables for seating. They have some good drink options too, including some $5 beers while you wait. You want to know how good this pizza was? I was planning to take it to go and once I opened the box I knew my self control wasn't strong enough to take it to my destination. I popped a squat and ate half the pie on the spot. The Original ($20) // Ezzo Pepperoni Cups, Red Sauce, Mozz, Smoked Mozz, Jalapeño, Wild Oregano. Holy smokes. Typically I'd judge a pizza place by their cheese first and foremost. But this sounded too good not to try. The smokiness and meatiness from the pepperoni cups paired with the bite from the jalapeños was a flavor combination built for my taste buds. With the crispy crust and undercarriage, this pizza was 10/10. Service is quick and efficient. Only a few people working, but they have a system in place. I love how they ask if you want basil with your pie, and proceed to hand you a small bag of fresh basil. Unbelievable spot and I'm kicking myself for not visiting sooner! read more

Wow what amazing pizza!! We got the Italian and the homemade sausage was delicious! The pizza was not too saucy so if you like saucy pizza, this isn't it. You can probably request more sauce if you wanted to. The crust of the pizza is very thin so you would need to fold or hold tightly. We had fresh basil and hot sauce on our pizza and both were a complete change to the freshness of the pizza. The location is very small so we got it to go. I would order ahead for pick up just in case there's a long wait time for pizzas. Parking is very limited also but it's worth it! We can't wait to come back and try the street taco pizza! read more

Y'all the pizza here is F I R E. We ordered a takeout order of the butternut squash (a white pizza) and your basic pepperoni (red pizza). You have to call to order, no online. You can dine in, but it's just a few tables and decor is not their thing but it doesn't matter bc the pizza is so good. We didn't love the red pizzas as much, but they were still tasty. The pies had a ~25 min car ride home, so we will have to come back and try the pizzas fresh! Some of the best crust I have had in CO (thin, chewy, a bit charred) and the pizzas heated up well. The pizza is not super cheap, but the pies are bigger than we expected, and four pies lasted two adults for four meals. I definitely recommend calling ahead, as it took about 75 mins from ordering to the pies being ready. Very friendly staff, even amidst all the craziness here on a Friday evening! read more

I ordered the eggplant parm pizza, which had roasted eggplant, red sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, and pesto. Top notch pizza. And, that's coming from a north easterner who lived in New Haven CT, for 7 years. It's not easy to find great pizza around here. They nailed the chewy, bubbly, partially blackened crust. It will be a new regular stop for us. Would be 5 stars, but salads are in plastic containers, with croutons,cheese, dressing, each in an additional plastic container as well.
