Believe the hype. This is excellent pizza. Keep in mind that it is a specific kind of pizza, so if you were thinking of a cheese bomb with basic toppings, this ain't it. This is more like a traditional neopolitan pie with a slightly chewy, charred crust and beautifully orchestrated toppings. We got three pies for a Friday night gathering. The Italian is hauntingly good with spicy Italian sausage and Anaheim peppers. Some other stuff too. It was a feeding frenzy. The Margherita came with plenty of basil and flavorful bits of cheese spread out well on the pie. The lawn boy was my personal favorite. The artichokes tasted like they were marinated to work specifically on this pizza. The pesto sauce supported a nice hit of garlic. Topped with arugula, it was a total delight. I also recommend a slice for breakfast the next day. Order more pizza than you think you need. You won't regret it. Also get the hot sauce for the side. The yellow one is the hotter one. I dont know what kind of chili they're using in there, but you will want to be emotionally prepared for the impact. Service was so friendly and fun. You might want to eat there but there is very limited parking, and it really is set up as more of a takeout place. Yes there are tables, but they are not promoting ambiance here. Which is fine. Focusing on the pizza is definitely working for them.

Pizzeria lui is still the best pizza I've had in 2026. What makes them unique is the crust, freshness of the ingredients and the pairing of the toppings. I wouldn't deviate and go custom. Additionally, there isn't much seating so I would highly recommend take out. Pizzas are on the pricier side $23 for 14 inch but classic example of you get what you pay for.

Did the dough / crust change?! Grabbed a pie last week and ate it there. The crust was a hard crust and had a crackle to it. For me, it wasn't enjoyable :( I really enjoyed when it was soft / light / fluffy with the bubble char on it -- I first came to Pizzeria Lui in 2019 or 2020 and it was soft / fluffy then. Service was great and the pizzeria itself was cute and clean as usual though! Just a heads up on the crust.

Great pizza with a crispy bottom and good flavor. We got the mushroom for $23 with the small pepperoni cups, big dollops of sausage and plump mushrooms. Ingredients seemed fresh and we loved trying all of the hot sauces which had a good range of heat. I especially love the flat iron dry chili peppers and the medium hot sauce. They only have one size pizza and it was perfect for 2 people. We went on a Thursday night around 6:30pm and only 1 table of 5 had customers so we decided to eat our pizza there. By the time we left, all the tables were taken. Service was friendly and they came around to check on us while we were eating. I liked that they have a water dispenser so you can fill up yourself. It's no frills, just a nice quick spot to eat yummy pizza in Lakewood. We will definitely be back and share the good word with others.

Really good pizza. Crust is flavorful with a wonderful balance between crunch and chew. Fresh toppings including some fresh Basil leaves they will throw on top after the bake. We had both the Original and the Shroom. The jalapeños on the original were fresh and spicy! I think I liked the Shroom just a little more. Their larger chunks of mushroom was better than the normal pizza place w thin slices. Cup pepperoni and decent sized chunks of sausage were all excellent. We got a $20 bottle of wine (Chianti) which was like a nice house wine in Italy. Pizza is served in a rack elevated over a pan which helped it maintain its crispiness while we ate in. Not sure how it holds up in a to-go box so recommend eating in if possible.

Some of the best pizza we've had in a while! Inside is a small space with about 5 tables for eat in customers. Their waits are pretty long and we did have a hiccup with some miscommunication with staff. Still giving it a 5-star rating because the pizza was delicious and the manager/owner (not sure which he was) was extremely apologetic over communication breakdown. The Original was too spicy for me, but my partner loved it; make sure to get a side of hot honey for some extra spice. I ordered the Lawn Boy which was delicious! The homemade pesto had such a good flavor. DO NOT SKIP IN GETTING A SIDE OF RANCH! Overall it was a pricy meal (~$20 a pizza) but it is worth trying given the reputation.

This is the place you go so you can mock them immediately after. "Best in Denver" yeah, right (though, admittedly, the bar is set low). Give me my pizza so I can take a bite and tell you to your face, "you've got some nerve." So I roll in for the first time Thursday night - place is hopping, but the hoppers are the staff who are absolutely busting their asses firing off pizza after pizza in such a small space in front to the ovens. As I wait to order, some clown is complaining about the 40 minute wait. Really? I've been given 90-120 minute wait times in other states. I knew going in I wanted "The Italian" with housemade sausage and a slew of other ingredients. Gentleman asks if I'd like complimentary hot sauce. Sure! Why not. 40 minutes? I could swear it took no more than 25. Open the box and my mouth dropped. Wow. This looked awesome. Went outside and took a bite. The verdict? This was one of the best pizzas I've had in my life, and I'm from the NJ/NY/Philadelphia area. "The Italian" is so unique, yet classic. The crust? Fucking perfect. Razor thin with the absolute PERFECT crispness. I had two slices and tried one with the hot sauce - next thing I knew, I was drizzling it on the pizza. After my final bite, I was trying to figure out when I could come back before my trip ends. Best in Denver? Yes - by an avalanche.

6 picnic tables Free water and hot sauce station Got the taco pizza again which was really good. Got the mommacita red sauce pizza which was ok. Def recommend spreading the ricotta cheese across the pizza Hot sauce was good again Spicy honey sauce was $2 for the tiniest bit. It was meh. Best pizza ever!!! Spicy hot honey? What more can you ask for. We are from California and visit Pizzeria Lui every time we go to Colorado. It's 100% a must and a staple and the workers are so nice. They're open on New Year's Eve which is perfect because we fly every year. Our favorite is the Soppresta! read more

Yes 5 stars! They checked every box and the pizza was fresh, hot, and delicious. Enjoyed the great tasting crust. Gotta try the Mamacita! You won't be disappointed. From out of town and this was a place we saw not from from our hotel. Will definitely return when back in Colorado. Thanks for the great pizza. read more

Recently had an opportunity to try Pizzeria Liu for dinner. Parking for the restaurant is limited and we had to park a few blocks away. Seating is also limited so, grab what you can, is what we learned. The pizza does take some time since they had multiple orders before us, we tried the mamacita and garlic bread sticks. The Samaritan was good, the ricotta was fresh and added some nice layering to the crispy crust. The bread sticks were delicious with a mix of parmesan and garlic that stuck nicely to the bread. This location is in an suspecting area so good id you are on that side of town but not something we will be driving to very often. read more

Pizzeria Lui needs to be in the conversation for best pizza in Denver. I don't take this bold claim lightly either. Not only do I dine out a lot, but I'd like to think I know my way around a pizza. To me, it's an interesting cross of NY meet Neapolitan. The end result is an artisan, more gourmet style pizza that has incredible chew, flavor and crispiness. This is my type of pizza, and I'm sure some people will disagree. The Lakewood spot is a hidden gem off the beaten path. Even though they brand themselves as more of a takeout spot, there are a few tables for seating. They have some good drink options too, including some $5 beers while you wait. You want to know how good this pizza was? I was planning to take it to go and once I opened the box I knew my self control wasn't strong enough to take it to my destination. I popped a squat and ate half the pie on the spot. The Original ($20) // Ezzo Pepperoni Cups, Red Sauce, Mozz, Smoked Mozz, Jalapeño, Wild Oregano. Holy smokes. Typically I'd judge a pizza place by their cheese first and foremost. But this sounded too good not to try. The smokiness and meatiness from the pepperoni cups paired with the bite from the jalapeños was a flavor combination built for my taste buds. With the crispy crust and undercarriage, this pizza was 10/10. Service is quick and efficient. Only a few people working, but they have a system in place. I love how they ask if you want basil with your pie, and proceed to hand you a small bag of fresh basil. Unbelievable spot and I'm kicking myself for not visiting sooner! read more

Wow what amazing pizza!! We got the Italian and the homemade sausage was delicious! The pizza was not too saucy so if you like saucy pizza, this isn't it. You can probably request more sauce if you wanted to. The crust of the pizza is very thin so you would need to fold or hold tightly. We had fresh basil and hot sauce on our pizza and both were a complete change to the freshness of the pizza. The location is very small so we got it to go. I would order ahead for pick up just in case there's a long wait time for pizzas. Parking is very limited also but it's worth it! We can't wait to come back and try the street taco pizza! read more

Finally tried pizzeria lui and the hype is real. Maybe my favorite pizza in Denver metro area. Tried the sausage and peach pit. The dough is so chewy and perfect texture. I was able to call ahead and they finished our pizza right on time for pick up. There's a few tables inside as well. Absolutely will come back and try other pizzas! The entire menu looks amazing read more

This is our new favorite pizza place. Being from the east coast I'm very picky and they exceeded my expectations. The team there is fantastic and are constantly making sure we are happy with our food and that our needs are being met. While there are few tables which are first come first served, it's totally worth the wait and patience. We will be back and will tell all our friends to visit this gem read more

Possibly the best pizza in Denver metroplex area. Perfect crust and good ingredients! Wish they had more areas to eat there because that crust deserves to be eaten right away. Don't go here for ambiance or great service but who needs any of that when the pizza is just this good! Almost like a food truck with walls and fantastic pizza. Can I say this again... perrrefeccctttt crust!! If you are not a crust person, save your crust, give it to your crust loving friend, tell them to air fry it for a minute and eat it with EVO. They will love you even more. read more

Y'all the pizza here is F I R E. We ordered a takeout order of the butternut squash (a white pizza) and your basic pepperoni (red pizza). You have to call to order, no online. You can dine in, but it's just a few tables and decor is not their thing but it doesn't matter bc the pizza is so good. The butternut, we were feeling adventurous and I'm so glad we did, bc yall that was the best pizza I've ever had. Such an unusual pairing of ingredients, I could've eaten the whole thing. Their pricing is so reasonable too. Definitely check it out! read more

Such nice people working in there! Seems like it's family owned. But every time I pick up, they are poppin! Always so busy. I do think it's the best pizza in Denver, which was confirmed by the friends I've had try it. Sometimes their phone lines are so busy with to go orders that I keep getting a busy signal and have to go in person to order. It's a very small but cute place on the inside as well if you dine in. read more

Top notch pizza. And, that's coming from a north easterner who lived in New Haven CT, for 7 years. It's not easy to find great pizza around here. They nailed the chewy, bubbly, partially blackened crust. It will be a new regular stop for us. Would be 5 stars, but salads are in plastic containers, with croutons,cheese, dressing, each in an additional plastic container as well. Would love an environmentally friendly replacement to the plastic. Great service, great vibe, excellent pizza. And, so far, very consistent. read more

Pizzeria Lui has some of the best pizza in Denver hands down. We drive nearly 45 minutes just to pick up pizza here because it's that good! Their breadsticks and sauces are wonderful as well. As someone who can no longer have dairy, I wish they had additional options so I can enjoy their pizza again too. The restaurant is small but lively and there isn't a lot of parking, so takeout is the best option if you live close enough. Otherwise, be aware that their phones are consistently down or busy, and your pizza may take much longer than expected to be ready. Overall - it's worth the wait and I would recommend to anyone looking for the best pizza in the city! read more

They were pretty busy at around 5:30 on a Saturday evening and we were lucky enough to snag a table since they also take reservations and some were being held. The service was great, she gave us her recommendations and was very very patient while we all decided what plates to share. They give you some small plain bread knots when you sit down and had no problem, giving us a refill, even a side of marinara sauce for dipping when we asked. We started with the Caprese appetizer, which was fresh and delicious lightly, garnished with the balsamic glaze that sets the flavor off, not too overpowering. We shared three different pastas - the penne rustica, the shrimp and artichoke, and the pesto tortellini. The rustica was definitely the best, it had such a depth of flavor, and the sauce was a perfect rosé of creamy tomato, with the vegetables helping set off the textures and flavors even more. The other two pastas were good, but I wouldn't prioritize ordering them again, the pesto tortellini was so rich and creamy, but lacked any pesto flavor, which was surprising since it was vivid and green, and so visually appealing. The shrimp and artichoke was good, but didn't allow me, I felt like the artichoke needed more seasoning or something to bring it out a little in the sauce and pasta mix. The owner Nancy was such a sweetheart. She was so attentive and came over to us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. Next time I'll be trying the Bolognese :)

I placed my order online at 3:26 PM with an estimated pickup time of 4:45 PM. A turnaround time of over an hour for a pizza and sandwich felt longer than expected. When I arrived around 4:50 PM, another customer was already waiting to pick up his order. He ended up waiting several minutes while staff tried to locate it. Despite several employees working behind the counter and the restaurant being only about half full, neither of us were acknowledged when we walked in. The lack of greeting or communication made the pickup process feel disorganized from the start. Eventually, the employee managing the register helped us, and to his credit, he was friendly and clearly doing his best to juggle multiple responsibilities. There was some confusion with my order at first, and I was initially presented with someone else's order and asked for payment until I showed my confirmation email. Overall, the food was good enough that I'm open to giving them another try. But the operational side of the experience didn't match the quality coming out of the kitchen.

Great pizza. Quality ingredients. Such versatility in variety in choices. Clean and a very pleasant staff. Little on the pricey side. I wanted larger pies although I understand the efficiency of consistency with one size only. I'm from an Italian area of central NJ called Chambersburg. The local tomato pie of Delorenzo's was one of the best in the US. Usually in the top four in Pizza Magazine which is published quarterly. So my comparison, within my long-term memory tastebuds is their delicious sauce, crust that crunches and just an addicting experience. Had it once weekly as a tradition on Friday nights. Your pies resemble DeLo's than any other pie I've had in Denver. Kiss my lips delicious! Bravo you guys! Thank you. P.S. Couldn't wait to get both pies home with the aroma surrounding me in the car.
