We legit thought we were in the wrong spot. The menu was labeled as pizza and pasta, but there weren't many options for either. The combos were kind of all over the place--lamb, octopus, pork--so we tried to keep an open mind. But once the food came... yeah, it didn't get better. I've been coming here since they first opened a few years ago. They are under new management, but it seems that most of the staff was kept on. The food comes fresh and piping hot. They made an off menu for my friend (chicken marsala vs. pork marsala). The only reason they're losing a star is that the 2 seat tables are either on one end of a narrow wall or near windows that are freezing in Feb, or near a door that swings out when people us it. This place is a hidden treasure! I had no idea what to expect. To say that we were pleasantly surprised is a huge understatement! We had the seabass and the crab ravioli with shrimp. They were both absolutely stunning! Safina was an incredible server! She was attentive without being overwhelming. From the beginning to the end, our experience was top notch! Ordered a pizza to go at 7:39 pm. Picked it up at 7:55pm. It was the worst pile of mush I've ever seen or tasted. All for the very high price of $27.81 plus $3.00 tip so we're talking $31.81 for 10"'s of slop. I realize it was less than 30 minutes before the restaurant closed but this pizza was a wet pile of goo. Not even sure if it was made with a crust. Not even a toaster could fix this. Walking in the door was the 1st disappointment. Dessert case, usually so tempting has been turned into inventory storage! Cardboard boxes in the glass display! Looks like it's closing. Two young, inexperienced waiters hurried to set up a table. (A/C not working in 1/2 restaurant. It happens). This is an Italian restaurant but we were told that they heard, just that day, no bread will be served! Italian restaurant!! Owner was not onsite but busy opening a new location. Finally, the Bolognese was very good but farfalle pasta so overcooked it just broke when put on a fork. No grated cheese on any kind available either. This place is trash. Do not get the pizza. It tastes like a frozen pizza. So sad! I saw it all over IG and had high hopes!! And their customer service is non existent. Ordered for delivery and pizza did not show up with the order. I called and she didn't even seem concerned. My wife, my girlfriend and I had dinner here tonight. It's only 1000 yards from my house so it was long past time to check it out. Plus, another Yelper was encouraging me to go. We got cleaned up and walked through the door about 5:30pm. We were not welcomed especially warmly. We were asked if we had a reservation and when we said no, there was some strained looks. Kind of felt like not having a reservation was inconvenient for them. It wasn't a huge deal but was more uncomfortable than it needed to be. We were seated at a beautiful table that was clean and tidy. We had our drink orders taken immediately and the drinks showed up within minutes. Very attentive and efficient staff. I ordered Shrimp Fra Diavola, my wife ordered spinach ravioli and our girlfriend ordered a veggie pizza. The pasta meals came with garlic twists and neither of us were especially impressed with the twists. They seemed stale and not especially flavorful. The main courses arrived ten minutes later and they were absolutely delicious. Mine was really spicy and did not disappoint. It was beautifully presented and the shrimp was fantastic. It was every very penny, and then some, of the reasonable price. My wife loved her spinach ravioli and said it was some of the better she has ever had. Freyja enjoyed her pizza and stated it was perfectly made. After dinner we ordered a pistachio cannoli and it was average at best. It was beautifully plated and presented but the shell was too hard to eat. It hurt my teeth. I wouldn't recommend it. Table service was flawless. Our glasses were never empty. Our server was pleasant, friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean, nicely appointed and friendly. I really enjoyed the decor. All in all this was a very positive dining experience. I just wish we weren't made to feel like we were intruding in the first few seconds of our visit. The main courses made the entire trip worth it. They were exceptional and very high end. read more

Another place deserving of 5 stars, at least that's my opinion. First, be aware it's set back away from the standard shops. You'd almost think it's just some hole in the wall place nice for take out but nothing more. But the photos show it to be a very special place. Its ambiance is awesome. We'd reserved a table for four and upon arrival were led to our table. It was beautifully set up to welcome us. Cloth napkins, roses awaiting us and a bread plate for each of us, like a work of art! We ordered spinach ravioli in a rose sauce, mushroom ravioli, gnocchi gorgonzola and fettuccine carbonara. All dishes were outstanding. They also provided us with a dish of garlic twists and a dipping sauce. I'll attach photos of each plate. My choice was the spinach ravioli which was set in a rose sauce that was just right. No harsh acidity at all. Within the sauce were spinach bits. Classy! The mushroom ravioli looked awesome. The gnocchi had my eye and seemed perfectly prepared. The last dish was just as impressive. The dip for the garlic twists was special with a taste of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a sweetness as well. We polished it off. All in all a very special experience. This is a nice place. I grew up in the neighborhood. This location has had amazing restaurants. Since this place has changed ownership. It has changed drastically. The prices are astronomical! The menu has changed, several of my favorites are no longer there. The patio tables are awful. They used to be comfy, but those yellow tables are cheap and ugly looking . The flashing lights are tacky looking and should not be there for a quiet neighborhood like Bear Valley ! read more

We were excited to go and enjoy the Monday lasagna special. It had been a while since we had gone. We were surprised to see it was sold and had new owners. Definite improvements in the decor and ambiance. Although happy they still have the Monday lasagna special, not happy it went up in price so dramatically. We opted for different entrees and they were delicious and the portions generous. We miss the delicious twisty bread and dipping sauce. We ordered a Caesar salad. It was ok, mainly lettuce and a few pieces of Parmesan. Not worth it. There is espresso, but it is pods. Not sure why a nice Italian restaurant does not have a real espresso machine. We ordered the cannoli. Looked delicious. Tasted watery like it was frozen. Staff was amazing and friendly as always. Definitely worth checking out, at least once. Please add the children's menu, the house salad, the Italian salad, and chef special items such as Osso Bucco to the online delivery menu items. We were VERY disappointed in the selections as our favorites are no longer on the menu. The Farfalle Bolognese and the Spinach Ravioli are gone. The breadsticks are gone and replaced with hard bread. $81 for two people is ridiculous . If I am paying $20-$25 for an entree I expect a salad or soup. Our favorite little hidden gem has now become a place we won't return to. So sad. read more

Horrible experience. We go here occasionally but this time was terrible. No air conditioning and it was incredibly hot, we should have been notified as we had reservations. The service was awful, Nick was nice and I felt sorry for him, but it was so bad! Then, we all got charge the wrong amounts, spent at least 30 minutes trying to figure it out. A real cf. Never got our bread, menu has changed again, owners were at their new location so everything went to hell. So so sorry this has happened to this restaurant. Won't be going back. read more

It's a shame to have to write this review. My family and I have loved this place for the past several years, but since ownership changed it just isn't the same anymore. The service in particular has taken a huge nose dive. Beverage glasses sitting empty and never offering refills, not clearing dishes off the table as needed throughout the meal, a clear lack of knowledge about the menu, bringing the check without asking if we want dessert, and many other basic things you expect when you're paying $250 for dinner. The staff simply don't seem to care about offering a positive experience. We are not planning on going back again. As I said, a real shame. read more

On June 30th 2025 three of us ate at Pizza Pasta Villa because we had previously eaten there several times and loved the food & service. My boyfriend and his father ordered a special which came with a side salad. They brought the 2 side salads and my dinner but I didn't want to eat my dinner until my boyfriend and his dad got theirs because I would be done with it before they got theirs. Then I realized it was not even what I ordered. I had ordered a pasta dish with shrimp. I asked if they would bring me a complimentary small salad that I could eat while the men were eating their salads since they made a mistake and brought the wrong dinner to me. The waitress said she would. Later a young female dressed in blue jean short shorts and & a cropped hard rock concert T- shirt with her bare belly exposed came to my table and told me she cannot bring me the salad. I told her the waitress said she would and they should stick to their word. I asked for the manager and was shocked when she said " I am the manager". I gave my dinner back to them since they brought me the wrong dinner (meant for someone else). Then the dinners came out for the men. They did not want to eat theirs in front of me and their dinner got cold while I was waiting for my correct dinner. Then they brought the shrimp only without the pasta dinner. When my pasta dinner did come out, we realized there was no salt, parmesan cheese or red pepper shaker on our table. Because of the managers sarcastic attitude, we didn't want to bother anyone so my boyfriend headed to the store to buy salt. Someone overheard this and only then where condiments were brought to the table. The attire of the manager and staff is what you'd see at a high school football game and the manager needs training in customer service, manners, timing and sequence of bringing food out. Holy cow, so glad we found Pizza Pasta Villa. Tried this new little Italian place that just opened in our neighborhood. We had our fingers crossed for a close Italian restaurant that could become a regular in our rotation. They did not disappoint. My husband ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. The sauce was so delicious and flavorful. The chicken was well seasoned and so juicy! I had the pasta al forno and was blown away. Everything about it was delicious. There was a ton of meat; the pasta was perfectly cooked; the sauce was to die for. We also got a side of meatballs with marinara that was wonderful! Top 3 best marinara. Seriously, only complaint was that I got too full to finish it. Almost forgot to mention, the cheesecake! Creamy and delicious!! Give this place a try.
