I have no idea how I haven't reviewed this place yet - I've been coming here since 2021, when I first moved from New York. This place is my first recommendation to anyone asking for good pizza. A huge plus is that they sell slices and have some amazing combo deals (at least when I last went in person instead of ordering online!). No frills - perfect food. Pizza is great (my fellow New Yorkers can disagree but I love it). The Stromboli is delicious, wings are cooked exactly how I like, and my parents order the chicken parm sub and meatball sub every time they visit because they know it will never let them down! read more

NOTHING like you would expect from a NY pizza joint ...You pay first and are prompted to leave a tip, which we did, unfortunately.. Because you have to do your own dishes while the entitled Bar tender eats behind the bar in plain view with NO CUSTOMERS... after feeling ripped off and when attempting to find the manager with no avail.. Between the lukewarm slices, sticky surfaces, dirty bathrooms and outdated Specials (I visited in March and the specials board still said "February") ...I can only recommend this place as an option after a long night of drinking. Positives- I do love the decor, all the pizza themed pictures and art, even the Christmas theme had pizza ornaments. Staff was nice. The pizza was good, I had the hot honey. My crust was way too hard though. I don't know if it was warmed too long. My fiancé had the chicken bacon ranch pizza and he was not enthused. Riding scooters in uptown when we decided to stop by here for a quick bite. We weren't here long, literally no more than 20 minutes. It was around 6 pm on a Sunday evening, and there was no line or crowd, which we were thankful for. Employees were super friendly and efficient. There are plenty of pizza flavors to choose from. Pepperoni, cheese and sausage, Margherita pizza, chicken BBQ, Chicken Buffalo, etc...I wasn't really hungry so i only ate about 3 bites of a Spicy honey pepperoni pizza, it was very delicious but unfortunately it was sooooooooo hot, I ended up burning the roof of my mouth which ultimately left me with little desire to eat anything else as my mouth was hurting afterwards. Not their fault, just me being greedy. They do have a full bar as well, which a lot of people were at watching a game on their TVs. Wouldn't mind coming back and trying other slices out. Visited this restaurant yesterday with my children and friend. We all enjoyed our pizza. I ordered the BBQ chicken the crust and toppings were delicious. The children enjoyed their slices of cheese pizza. I also ordered lemon pepper wings they were good as well. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The customer service was great. They were attentive and helpful with placing orders. My only complaint was the drink machine looked disgusting . Looked like it had built up mildew I think it needs a good cleaning. I used to love coming to Pizzaria Sapienza all the time, but after my experience yesterday, I'm not sure I'll be back. I ordered two orders of two slices of pizza and dined in with a friend. When we arrived, the place was quite noisy, with the music blasting, which didn't bother us too much. However, what did bother us were the several children running around, jumping on chairs, and causing chaos. At one point while eating, one of the children dropped a chair, which hit the back of my chair, startling me and causing me to almost choke on my food. The man who took my payment came from behind the counter, and I believe these were his children or family members. While I'm not opposed to bringing your children to work, allowing them to run wild, even behind the bar, is very unprofessional. To make matters worse, when the chair hit my chair, there was no apology or acknowledgment. The kids continued to run around, and the chaos just escalated. The loud music, the running children, and the complete lack of consideration for the customers made the experience very disheartening. This place used to be a favorite of mine, but it's just not the same anymore. Moving forward, I think I'll pay a little extra for a different pizzeria where I can enjoy my meal in peace. Update:: Please dont use pride as an excuse, it was well after the parade and no one was barely in the pizzaria. Again, the children being there was not the issue. In any event, owning a business and allowing your children to create that amount of chaos while having paying patriots in your establishment is! My friend and I stopped by after seeing a performance in uptown and new it was the right decision instantly! While I have never had the pleasure of setting foot in this fine establishment I have ordered delivery from them multiple times and each time they have certainly delivered! This has become one of my favorite pizza spots in the city due to their delicious crispy crust and a solid cheese to sauce ratio. I can also say that their subs are mouthwatering good especially their meatball and chicken parm. I know their owner is from New York originally so it makes sense that this is one of the closest things to a New York quality pizza I've had in Charlotte. They are located in the north side of Uptown at the base of what I believe is a luxury apartment building. Although it is a little bit of a walk from my office I fully intend to stop in for lunch soon so I can enjoy their delicious food in house. My mouth is drooling as I begin to write this review. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers on 1/2 and chicken, green peppers, and banana peppers the other for delivery. When the pizza arrived to me it was still hot and fresh. As you see from the photo the pizza has the perfect amount of toppings and came just as I ordered. The taste was incredible! It was a great balance between the crust and greasiness. I made my order via Yelp but I did have to call in a second time to add to the order, just a Diet Coke, and the staff was very helpful. Unfortunately I was unable to edit my order but they walked me through how to make a second order but ensure that the Diet Coke was also received. Upon the arrival of the pizza I was truly pleased with the amount of pizza for the price and delivery.
