The hand tossed crust that they advertise was definately tossed somewhere, like the factory where it was made, but not in the store. Tonight, I ordered a gyro platter with triple the meat (I like to have the meat for my weekends) but when I got my order, there was NO triple meat, in fact, there were only small slivers of meat sitting atop a mound of lettuce. I immediately called back and the person on the phone was very nice and immediately said they would send my meat. What they did was replace the entire order (this time adding the extra meat). The delivery person apologized profusely and he was very nice. Thanks Pizzolis! The only other request I have is to find a way to keep the food hot for delivery. read more

I've ordered from this place about a million times because of its proximity to my house. I'll continue to eat there, because they have reasonable prices, quick service, and are open all the time. I used to really enjoy the pizza, but I think they've taken a step back in terms of quality in the past year or so. The crust is fine, I think the problem is in the sauce; I have had much better experiences with their more creative options, like the Steak Pizziola. It's not that it's BAD pizza, it's just not up to the standards of, say, Duccini's. However, I still enjoy the wings very much. By default they bake, instead of fry, them, and they're substantial, meaty, and delicious. I also recommend the salads, which have a pretty generous amount of non-lettuce ingredients. Stuff like chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, etc. are clearly frozen, but that's pretty standard. All in all, a fine local place that I will continue to give my money to. read more

Wide selection of items to meet the needs of a vegan, a vegetarian, and several carnivores - also representing three generations. I enjoyed the Cesar salad, which was very good and huge (saved half for dinner). Other enjoyed a variety of pizzas (including a vegan one), a greek salad, and huge Stromboli's. Today I ordered a Pizza Margarita for my toddler. It arrived late, and was extremely spicy. I called them and asked if they were using chilies, and they said the pizza is fine, its just the sauce they are using. I have never once eaten a Margarita with hot peppers in it. Anyway they wouldn't refund my money. And I think its bad customer service! I would not recommend this business to anyone, and advise people with young children to order elsewhere. read more

I ordered from Pizzolis late last night. I gave it 2 stars because of the time and for them being open late. For the pizza itself they probably deserve 1 stars. The hunger buster was $18 and practically the size of a personal size pizza. The cheese pizza was a tad larger at $14 but tasted like cardboard. Disappointing late night pizza overall. This Is my FIRST & likely last yelp review, (I'm not a big "yelp" person), but this place is HORRIBBLE!!! I live a few blocks from this place & my family and I have given them business for years but... when a convenient place with subpar food cannot even live up to said standards - it's time to rethink. I ordered a large pizza & a large chicken Caesar salad for pickup - a $33 bill - which came up to $38 when you add the $5 I tipped --- I get home & my family starts our meal only to discover that my $10 salad has no chicken on it - just some romaine lettuce & croutons... Not a HUGE deal, so I call back & am told that the manager has given me 2 "options": A) I can go all the way back to the restaurant to attempt, for the 2nd time that evening, to receive my correct order, or B) accept a "credit" for "another time"... When I suggest that they deliver that which I have paid for, so I can continue having dinner with my family - I am told I would then be charged a delivery fee?!? Well in that case, why don't you DEDUCT THE DELIVERY FEE FROM THE TIP I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT!!! Why am I financially responsible for this place's inability to provide a product I already paid for?!? This shop is a perfect example of a local hole in the wall that is worth the trip. The food was great, and the staff were helpful when ordering. I had the buffalo chicken strombolli. Their slices of pizza are definitely the largest I have ever seen, and yes, I've been to New York and other hot spots. This is a good pizza place to hit if you're in the mood for a slice. read more

Fresh organic products, fresh meats and produce at a reasonable price make this pizzeria a really good pick. The owner is incredibly nice. 3.25 stars. We ordered delivery from here before a trip to AC. I'm looking at the photos and I simply don't remember it looking like that. Perhaps too much Irish whiskey was consumed for a fair review. However, I do know that they actually deliver their pizzas unlike an unfortunate incident we had with Upper Crust so that's definitely on the plus column. Also, they don't have dead bugs in their pizza boxes like Manny & Olga's so that is also a reason to order from here. Fresh tasting ingredients (feta, spinach, tomato, mozzarella pizza is excellent). Good cheesecake. Great gyro platter. Portions are large. Service is friendly and fast. Have not tried pastas or calzones but we will whenever we get tired of the pizza and gyros. All in all a perfect neighborhood pizza and casual Mediterranean food carryout joint. At first glance at their extensive menu, you cringe a bit, thinking you've walked into an old school DC ghetto "curryout" (Think: Good Danny's, Yum's) . But this place is serving up fair to middling pizza for a part of town starved for half-way decent pizza. It's no 2 Amy's or The Italian Store, but it's maybe a notch better than Pizza Boli. They do have a nice crunchy/chewy crust on their "hand tossed" version. They apparently have a flat crust too, but the counter clerk didn't bother to ask what I wanted. Seem like nice folks though. Hopefully they can do well in this off-the-beaten-path location. (I'd hate to be their neighbors though!) read more

Pizzoli's is absolutely incredible! Not only do they have great food and a huge range of options to accommodate various dietary needs, but they have amazing service and are really helpful for catering. I needed to order pizza for 1000 people, all vegetarian, many vegan and many gluten-free on very short notice and Pizzoli's made it happen on a tight budget. Their salads were also fantastic and they provided tons of dressing as well. The pizzas were delicious, all arrived hot, and they made 1000 people very, very happy. So many delicious options, tons of opportunity to customize orders and truly fantastic service! I plan to have them cater events again and would recommend them highly to anyone. read more

If you haven't tried Pizzoli's yet, you must! Before this place I would try a different Pizza Joint ever other week. Now I only order from Pizzoli's. Everything I have had is fabulous...Hawaiian Pizza, White Pizza, Philly Cheese Steak, Antipasta Salad, Caprese Salad...shall I go on? Let's just say that I eat here more than my waist line would like:) Bottom line is the food is fresh and tastes great. I am baffled by some of the other comments regarding service because every time I go in there I get nothing but the best service. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure everything comes out just right. I once ordered a sandwich and got tied up on a phone call, and they actually called me to tell me my order was ready. I told them I got sidetracked and they offered to bring my food over. You don't find that level of service just anywhere. You have to try this place for yourself so you can see and taste the difference. I love this place and you will too! read more

The good - the service was quick for at Friday night at 11:30 am. The bad - the pizza was mediocre at best, but we were hungry and at least the pizza showed up hot. The ugly - it was over priced. I know that I am in Washington DC and I don't mind paying $19 for a pizza, but don't call the MF a large when it is a medium at best. It's a large by Domino's standards, but that's not saying much. read more
