The seafood boils were very good and the reason why we went. We had a two lobster boils and a crab boil. We also order a crab cake and the Maryland crab soup. The seafood boils were made to order and take a very long time so be prepared to wait and consider appetizers. The owner waited on us and had an excellent account for everything on the menu and talked it all up, especially the corn bread. I didn't like it, it was undercooked and I don't care for the corn pieces in it but I do know many people like it that way. I prefer a more dry/crumbly corn bread. This is truly a local mom and pop restaurant. No bells and whistles, a little dated, but clean and when we went we were the only ones there and were quick to be seated and attended. There were a few things I felt that could have been improved. For example, to be told the boils were going to take 45+ minutes, having wet wipes, and using a different bucket to collect the waste, not the mop bucket plopped in the middle of the table. That was weird and while clean just gave off a yuck vibe. Also, the crab cake we ordered didn't come out with the rest of the food because it was burnt. The next server told us it was because the cook was in the bathroom. While they cooked a new one, we had to wait for it while the rest of us had our meals & maybe don't tell us the details of the bathroom. Will we return? Probably not to eat in and maybe only to order something quick like sandwiches. read more

The place isn't the fanciest, nicest or cleanest but the seafood boils were very good and decently priced for the portion. I would stick to the boils though bc my mom got ala Carte scallops and they were small and not good . Not many options if you don't like seafood either read more

We were looking for a casual place to have dinner when I remembered that there was a place I heard about that had great seafood boils in Ocean City. PJ Buckets is not fine dining , it's excellent eating. I ordered the Louisiana Boil that could feed a crowd. Snow crab, crawfish, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes boiled with flavors you can only find in Louisiana. How hot do you want it? The wife went in the opposite direction, the Italian, lobster tails, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and sausage all cooked in a not overpowering red sauce. It's not gravy, sorry. All served over a bed of pasta. "You know, this is really good" All the boils are served in huge aluminum pans, perfect to take home the leftovers. I wish I had room for the Mac n cheese I saw others eating. And how can anyone forget the cornbread? It's worth a return trip. Maybe I'll order the Matzoh Ball soup, a surprise on the menu. read more

Tried this place on our last visit to Ocean City. Awesome selection of seafood boils. Everything was cooked really well and was better than expected. My son had the lobster bisque and lobster Mac and cheese. He loved the mac and cheese, but we both thought the bisque tasted a bit off. Far more "fishy" than lobster, if that makes sense. We couldn't finish it. The restaurant itself is kind of dark, but we went in the early evening, so maybe it's better as it gets darker. Everything looks pretty utilitarian, honestly. Drinks are bought out of a cooler instead of being fountain, which seemed kind of odd. LOVED that they had an industrial sink in the dining area, so customers could wash after what is sure to be a messy meal. Finally, the service was great. The owners - I assume - were super nice and welcoming. They kept checking on us, but not annoyingly often. I'd never been there before, but they really made us feel comfortable. read more

Food was good, but we ordered the New Jersey boil as part of a large take out order. One of the main reasons we got it was because of the scallops, but they didn't give us any scallops in the dish. I called and they said come back and get them, but they wouldn't credit. I wasn't even looking for a full credit, just on the scallops that I never received. This was frustrating because we drove out there and it was a major inconvenience to go back and get them while also coming back home to cold seafood. Poor customer service, especially for the price of the meal unfortunately. read more

Do not waste your money here!!!! Spent around $175 on food here and nothing was acceptable. To start they had quoted us 45 minutes and it took well over an hour and a half. Then the chicken was undercooked and inedible. In one of the boils they were missing the main component, the crab legs that we unfortunately were excited for and were still charged the extra $15 fee to include it. The lobster roll was barren for the $25 it was. Overall the meal was incredibly disappointing and I wish I could leave 0 stars. read more

We waited over an hour for the most mediocre, burnt frozen food. Their seafood boils are their specialty, and while the crab was good, the lobster in it was rubbery and grey. I feel bad because the staff was super friendly, nice, and helpful, but there were things out of their control, like being out of ketchup at 7 pm, or an hour long wait to reheat frozen food. Almost nothing went right. They don't have free water. The cornbread was cold. They had to take a menu item off the ticket for lack of quality while we were there. Do not order anything other than the seafood boil, and even then, check the food before you eat it. I mean, they fucked up the cornbread. How do you fuck up cornbread? read more

I was so excited to try this place. Let me tell you, it was horrible. First off, we were the only table in there and it took forever to get our food. They were catering to all of the people getting take out. when we finally got our food, it tasted like seafood sitting in dirty fish water. It had zero flavor. We got 3 clams ,2 pieces of sausage, half of the mussels were not open. The scallops were tiny little pieces. And who chops up potatoes for a seafood boil? They were tiny little pieces. I was thoroughly dissatisfied and would not recommend it. You would be better to buy your own food and steam it yourself. Do not waste your money going there. read more
