By far, worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have been to this location 3 times and each time, it was the same experience. Staff was not very friendly nor attentive when you walk in. There's no clear indication of which register you have to walk up to. And when you do come up to one of the sales reps, they do not acknowledge that you are there. They do not even look at you when they are talking to you as they are more fixated on their computers. Lastly, their prices are extremely over priced compared to other bookstores. Given their unreasonable service and return policy, I do not recommend anyone wasting their time and money at this establishment. read more

Don't let the facebook page or this yelp page fool you. This place is L E G I T. I saved at least 200 bucks here!!!! So coming back for any school book needs! Literally had maybe one person in line in front of me, I was helped with smiling faces by people who weren't trying to just make a buck. There were two employees that assisted me in finding me the right books and even compared two different books that were for the same class just two different generations (but literally had the same number of pages AND the same content). I also spent about 3 hours the night before researching online where to order the cheapest books from... even with THAT information I still bought even cheaper books here. I have used them twice for books. The have always seemed disorganized and once even put books on my account I didnt buy. I figured they are so busy and let it go. I got my books for summer and turned in my voucher as my books are paid though a pell grant. My pell grant was paid out on June 21. The book store charged MY bank account for the books and now I cannot pay my rent. I have called them several times today and there has been NO answer. I also sent an email on Saturday and that has not been responded to either. As soon as this is resolved I will be discontinuing my business with them read more

The review below scared me, but I only needed to purchase one book and I feel like they over exaggerated. Book prices are way better than the actual Collin bookstore (20-30$ cheaper). Walked in, looked clean, helped right away. The only thing that was off was that I was questioned if I had other books I've purchased, and if so where, and also on top of that which specific books and the prices... Kinda odd but they didn't ask in a mean manner. After that I was on my way. Probably will come back next semester ! read more

Online said they were closed on a Sunday and that's when they wanted the books back but impossible so I go the next day, and the guy made me pay $10 for a late fee, but then tried to say he sent out a text message which I never received. Only come here because it's cheap to rent here. Was not willing to work with me because they failed to notify me that they were gonna be open. read more

I love this place. It's great prices and the same as going to the college. I have never had an issue with them. They really work on waiting till my financial aid is in to make me pay and I can pay right through the phone. The only thing i go in for is to get books and bring them back. read more

Experienced the worst customer service here ever. I don't think it's asking for to much to be helped if I'm looking for a book but apparently the employees cannot be bothered to get up and off their phones to help a customer. I eventually got the book I needed and when it was time to return my rental my card got charged a crazy amount. When I went in to return the rental they said it was late and they charged my card to buy a brand new book. I had the return date written down so either they told me wrong when I first rented the book or they were lying when I went to return it. I don't understand why they didn't charge for a used book if it was late. When I asked for an explanation the "owner"/"manager" came up and told me very rudely that it was my fault and he tried to call me to ask about the return even though I never gave them my phone number. How could you call me when I never gave you my phone number? Overall, they have poor customer service and have unethical business habits which has caused me to tell everyone I know not to get books from here. It is significantly overpriced and you don't need to deal with the horrible employees just for textbooks. read more

PJ's has terrible customer service. I was trying to buy my chemistry textbook, which was around $280 if I remember correctly (at Collin's bookstore, it was $220). I then asked how much it was to rent it, $200. That's a ridiculous rental price, but I understand that to an extent PJ's can't control that. The person who was helping me then offered a cheaper alternative, an access code for $145. Under the impression this was the online textbook, I bought it on 9/16. I tried to study 9/17 and discovered it wasn't the textbook at all. That's my bad I suppose, for blindly believing he was giving me what I specifically asked for instead of checking myself, but I didn't think that would be too much to ask for. Anyways, since I didn't remove the seal or scratch off the label for the code I thought I'd be able to return it. When I came in only 2 days after buying, 9/18, he said I wasn't able to return it because it was "after his final return date" which was 8/30. I didn't even buy the access code before that date. Now I've spent $145 on an access code that I don't even need. Never shopping here again. read more

I purchased or rented my books from PJ's EVERY semester because of the prices and location. I always call before I go to ensure they have the book in stock and get the price. Well I called this time and spoke with owner and he ensured they had the book I needed but would not provide the price of the book over the phone (that was a first) stated I need to come in and get the price and HE HONORS PRICE MATCHIING (which I never knew). Went to the store and owner advised the book I needed was $54 to rent and $75 to purchase. I brought in my price match of $39.60 for the book and he also searched and found it, then he proceeds to tell me I can have the book for $49.00. I advised him that is not a price match and that he was going back on his word. He would not HONOR HIS OWN WORD OR GIVE ME THE PRICE MATCH AMOUNT. I really hate one bad experience spoils everything and I really liked purchasing from PJ's but I CAN NOT purchase from a store that does not demonstrate INTEGRITY, LOYALTY AND HONOR THEIR OWN WORD to their customers. Being a financial aid student, I try to save every penny. However, instead of saving money at PJ's I ended up LOSING money thanks to their unethical policies. When I first came in to purchase my math textbook, the employee read off a price that I knew was significantly MORE expensive than the Collin price. But I was in a rush and told him to check the Collin price on his screen. He said that their book was "an entire" $6 dollars cheaper than Collin's. I purchased it thinking hey I'd at least save $6. I asked for my Sociology textbook next: they said they didn't have it. Wow. Shocker. When I went home and checked the price for my math book, sure enough PJ's had charged me MORE than the Collin bookstore! I immediately tried to return it (brand-new, still sealed) and was told that they would charge me 25%(A $30 LATE FEE) because their "deadline" to return was the same as the last day to add classes in Collin College.... IF YOUR POLICY IS TIED TO COLLIN'S, WHY WOULD I BUY FROM YOU?? All over America stores have at least a 30 day return policy, but PJ's is different. So, instead of saving anything, I instead ended up PAYING this greedy bookstore $30 out of my financial aid budget! When asked how they could cheat a financial aid student out of their money like this, PJ's said "IT'S JUST BUSINESS." Yeah, you read that right. read more
