I had an issue with a GE PFE29. Turns out the power inverter to the compressor had broken, so the compressor itself was not able to function and the fridge/freezer were not staying cold. I called around on Saturday and Philip at PKC was the only one who was able to make it there on the same day. He was responsive to both call and text. I suspect that the Yelp area is not quite accurate, since Philip mentioned that he covers over into Norwalk as well, but certainly on both sides of the LA and Orange counties. He estimated that he would arrive between 6 and 7 PM, and did so at 6:45 (still in the time window). During the visit he was very direct, no-nonsense, quickly identified the inverter issue, had a replacement part on hand, and was able to install and confirm functioning in about 45 minutes. The final cost was $350, in line with his estimate, and a bit below some quoted prices I got from other vendors. I was quite satisfied with the communication, ability to identify and repair the issue, and overall value. I have mentioned Philip to my neighbors in case they have an issue. I accidentally overheated the motor on my dryer by drying pillows that were too wet. They came the SAME DAY!!! I also saw in someone else's review that PKC gave a specific time instead of a window of time, and that was the case for me as well. They said 2pm and were there promptly at 2. The repair was completed before 3pm. It was reasonably priced for a consultation and to fix the problem the total price was cheaper than buying a used dryer to replace our current one. But he also asked how old the refrigerator was and when I told him it was 16 years old, he advised that we buy a new one.
