Awesome prices for good quality food. Currently 99 cents for a standard taco that includes two tortillas with choice of carne asada, chicken, lengua, al pastor, carnitas, veggies... you get the idea... lots of options. But that's just the beginning. The complimentary salsa bar is rad compared to almost every other place in Eugene/Springfield. At least 8 unique housemade sauces and limes, pickled veggies, fresh onions, cilantro etc. Fancy pants food this is not. Delicious, incredible value, friendly quick service it is 100%. Plaza Latina has been a solid place for a long time but it really seems like they are stepping up their game. Also - this is a really decent grocery store, bakery and butcher shop. Lengua tacos... super yum. Since I can't abide by the idea of buying/butchering my own slab of beef tongue, I come here about once a month to get my tongue taco fix. The meat is braised until perfectly tender, and thrown in a warm tortilla with a spoonful of chopped cilantro and onions. It's topped off with spicy green salsa & a squeeze of fresh lime juice. My family and i ran in to get some tomatillos. The fresh produce was very attractive. So bright and colorful. It puts other stores to shame. We needed to get home by a certain time but we decided to grab a bite to eat. Kids ordered chicken nachos. My son ate every last bit. My daughter barely touched it. She can be a bit picky. Hubby ordered chicken tacos, he liked them. I took a bite and i didn't care for them very much. I ordered chili relleno it was pretty good. The rice and beans were OK. We were in and out really quick and will definitely be going back to try something different and look around the store! We all ate for 20 bucks. The taquira is authentic and takes me back to growing up in Los Angeles and is an awesome true Mexican taquira. Very reasonably priced and always fresh - the tortillas and chips are the best. It's hard for me to get past the tacos but everything I've had is good. Pictures on the menu board make it easy to try new things. They sell the homemade chips and corn tortillas in the market section; I always have a bag of the chips in my freezer, for "emergencies" :-) read more

Better than any Albertos, Filibertos, Albertacos, or whatever taco shop you're used to. Oregonians seem to think mexican food comes from places called Taco Time or Burrito Boy, has "sour cream sauce" on it, and that guacamole is as pale green and runny as my 3 year old's snotty nose. This place is under appreciated in part because they don't seem to connect with middle class white people. Folks, it is time to expand your horizons. For example, they have a wide array of salsas and make their own. You'll pay 50% more for some of the salsas at a boutique grocery. You can get spiced meats with veggies that you can stir fry and add to rice. Or try some home made mole. Freeze it in small balls to defrost and use later. If you want great tasting prepared food, try the chilie rellenos. They have the batter down pat and the cheese filling is just right. Or try the banana leaf tamales. A little sweet. Very original. Don't expect big smiles from the kitchen staff. Only Americanized restaurants instill that in wait staff. These people are just doing a good job cooking. read more

I just went and had a burrito for lunch today at Plaza Latina and it has fallen greatly. It had about 1 ounce of gristled asada, a bunch of refried beans, some lettuce and a little bit of salsa. Such a shame this place used to be good, not great, but good. No wonder it was empty at lunch hour. The burritos are five dollars but that wasn't even worth it. read more

Everything I've had is pretty good. I just love the nachos to start things off. But for me, it's all about the green sauce, which is the best I've ever had in the world, including a plethora of sauce tasting in Mexico. This is why I come here. The spicyness isn't always consistent, but the taste is. My only complaints are they seem to be awfully stingy with giving me sauce, and it seems silly considering how often I spend my money there....so I've found it easier to just buy a damn side to go with my meal if I'm taking it home. I've noticed other customers getting irritated with this practice as well. Also, if they're at all busy, they're almost always slow moving. That's an area they could honestly really work on. I would not reccomend this place on lunch hour. But good food overall. read more

I just moved to Eugene and have been searching for a Latino Market. I liked the Market. I found fresh pinto beans (which I was looking for) Great prices and a fresh variety on produce. I was just a little bummed that they don't carry Las Palmas Red Chile Sauce ( which I use and prefer to use as my enchilada sauce over the pre-mixed canned enchilada sauce) but other that that I would like to go back to try their fresh homemade tortillas and eat at their taqueria. read more

Good-sized Mexican market including an extensive fresh produce section, butcher's counter, fresh-made tortillas and Mexican baked goods, and taqueria serving meals to take away or eat on premises. The store also carries a selection of Middle-Eastern groceries, including spices and grains as well as frozen Halal meats. The taqueria serves good ol' barrio taco-shop fare, which I love. Not the fastest service in the world, though, so allow a little extra time. read more

He is so conscientious about the display, and the quality of fruits and veggies has IMPROVED, in my opinion! Five stars for their red salsa--the cheapest in town is also the best! Good selection of cheap produce that's handy around the kitchen any night. Their tortillas and chips make the average grocery's selection look like a sad Domino's pizza that's sat out overnight; They make chips from a gourmet market (MOC or Capella) taste like a venture-capital investment headed by a turquoise-clad power-lesbian out of Santa Fe, NM. Be careful! 2 months ago I bought some stuff that was expired and invalid to eat, and then I returned it and talked to a man who works there. He apologized and siad it was by mistake since they bring their food from overseas. Today, the lady, owner, got angry since I found out that many things were expired, and when she knew that I'm Arabic, she started speaking Arabic and said you can go to Portland if you're not satisfied with our goods.
