    Chicken Breast Dinner
    Joseph S.

Fresh. That's the word I'm going to use to summarize the food here. It tastes amazingly fresh. Come early or order ahead if you're going for lunch, as the line-ups can get pretty wild. Got to try the chicken breast dinner and it was fantastic. It was grilled perfectly, and is served with salad, rice, potatoes, tzatziki, and a small slice of pita bread. Come hungry, as the portion is more than enough to fill you up and leave you very satisfied. It's a place that's certainly off the beaten path (most people only know about it because they work close by), but once you try it, you'll be making the detour here every time. Check out @foodpharaoh on Instagram for more food!

Yummy grilled chicken, pita and greek salad! I visited Plaka with a colleague on a snowstorm day for a quick lunch. The small dinner was full and the line was long, but the scent of grilled chicken and dough convinced me that the food worth the wait. It turned out better than I expected! Although we waited for about 15 minutes, I absolutely adore my greek salad with grilled chicken. A large, thick piece of chicken breast was grilled to perfection and served after being diced. Each piece was mouth-watering. The pita was warm and soft, and the veggies in the salad are very fresh and crunchy. The dressing was also very tasty and paired well. This place is more of a self-serve style dinner and the seats were not comfortable. Nonetheless, I found the price very reasonable for a salad that is decent enough for an adult's lunch. I will surely return very soon.

I come here for lunch as it's close to my office. It's always busy, so expect a line up. They are usually pretty fast considering how busy it is. Food is really tasty as well. Meals are usually around $10 before tax.

The only thing was the noodles was more vermicelli than the udon. I think next time I'll order it I'll get it for udon only. Definitely coming back here for the bakkutteh dish my other favourite!

The place was far from crowded when we showed up, and we were told to check out the menus and place our order at the front. We decided to share the House Special Sandwich ("Pork loin marinated with house special recipe, tomato, fried egg, cabbage and peanut butter") and the Malaysian Street Style sandwich ("4oz ground beef with a taste of M'sian spice, tomato, fried egg, lettuce and sweet & spicy sauce"). (I also got a milk tea to drink, and it was really good. Very rich but not too sweet.) The sandwiches were both excellent. They were packed with flavor and the various components all worked really well together. The Malaysian Street Style did flirt with being just a little too sweet, but it was balanced out with the other components. Everything was decently priced, too. The bill, with tip, came out to around 25 bucks, which is great considering the quantity and caliber of food we were given.

The service was terrific and the restaurant was light and bright. Lots of space between tables and a huge space. Cute washrooms. Now the food. We split the pancakes and the chicken with waffles. The pancakes may have been the best that I have ever had and I bought some of the blueberry compote to take home. The chicken was delicious and a savory foil to the sweetness of the pancakes.

I went on a Saturday around 9:00 AM, and there was already a line of about seven people ahead of me. Since I was dining solo, I grabbed a seat at the kitchen bar, which ended up being a fun spot to watch everything happening. I ordered the mango mimosa and the wild blueberry pancakes. Mildred's has some of the best pancakes I have ever had. They were fluffy, flavorful and absolutely lived up to the hype. The mango mimosa was a little too sweet for my taste, but I would still love to come back and try more of their menu. The staff were friendly, although service was a bit slow to start. It took about 15 to 18 mins before I got water and was able to place my order. Overall, I can absolutely see why this place has such a great reputation. I waited over a decade to try it, and it was well worth the wait.

When dining in, you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food to the table. Breakfast items are available until 4 p.m., and after that they serve salads, bowls, and sandwiches. On my first visit, I had a hot chai latte with espresso and it was absolutely delicious. The second time, I tried the iced pumpkin spice latte and didn't love it. The pumpkin spice syrup is homemade, which is nice, but the flavor fell a little flat and the large glass was mostly milk, which overpowered the drink. For food, I've tried the egg sandwich simple but good. The spinach feta croissant was heavy on the spinach, light on the cheese, and even though I asked for it warmed up, it was still cold in the middle. Their bowls are very fresh, but I found them a little under-seasoned and could've used more dressing or a sprinkle of seasoning to tie everything together. Overall, it's a cozy spot with an inviting vibe (I love their "stay awhile" sign on the wall). I think it really depends on what you order and your personal taste. For some, the fresh and lighter options might be perfect. For me, a little more flavor and balance would make it great.

They have a small selection of beautiful pastries on display too. Their Omelette plates are made with fresh ingredients, well-seasoned home fries, and fresh bagels.
