I discovered this little gem about six months ago, and this has become my new go to beauty store. They carry so many great things that I don't find at the big beauty supply chain stores. In addition to beauty supplies, they have a great choice of candles, cards, and even some slimming undergarments. They carry high-quality blow dryers and even have micro-current machines that can help reduce wrinkles and revitalize your skin. The main thing I love about this store though, is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bryant is amazing and knows so much about all the products. Every time I go there, he turns me on to a new wonderful product. He has made so many great recommendations on everything from hair care to nail care to skin. I look 20 years younger because of some of his recommendations! At the very least, my skin is much more beautiful and glowing. Celeste is also super helpful and friendly. She turned me on to the Deborah Lipman nail polish which is the best polish I've ever used. There are also a number of other awesome folks who have helped me when I go in there but I can't remember everyone's name. The point is, everyone that I've dealt with there seems to be super friendly and helpful. So nice to go to a place with great customer service! The prices are also very competitive, and because they are often offering discounts, the prices are typically the same or cheaper than online or at the bigger chain beauty stores. Last night they were having a sale, and I saved a truckload of cash on K18 hair treatment! Way cheaper than the big chain beauty store up the street formerly known as Du Pars! The store is conveniently located in the shopping mall on Vineland and Ventura, so you can also go get your shopping done at Ralph's after your beauty needs and hit the Wells Fargo ATM. They have a huge lot and parking is convenient. It is a small independently owned shop with wonderful products and amazing customer service. I love all the Planet Beauty's but this store is huge and carries so many products. I also met one of my best friends here - she worked there and suggested a lot of great skincare and hair care products for me! They are one of the few places that sells Rodial. It's a high end brand from the UK and they have awesome skincare and makeup products. One of the great things about Planet Beauty is that they have great sales- especially after the holidays. They sell a ton of kits and most of them are up to 50% off so that's when I stock up! If you are a member and spend a certain amount, you can get a standard 15% off your purchases. They also give great samples with every purchase as well. The people that works there are always nice and friendly. They give great recommendations. They also sell candles and jewelry. There's also a mini salon in the back for facials, lashes, etc. I held a workout event at a barre studio and they supplied us with sample bags! read more

The stars aligned for me today at Planet Beauty. I hadn't been to this store in forever because the parking is tough and the mall is a little crazy. But my hair was super dry, and as a curly girl, I had to get some high-quality conditioner. Bryant is my new savior. What an absolutely fantastic sales person and human being! He really helped me out. He directed me towards two conditioners at fair prices that are specifically for curly hair and dry hair: Bumble and Bumble and Ava. He also made me a couple of samples of Moroccan Oil scalp treatment to see if I like it and if it helps my dry scalp. The store is a grownups playground of all things beauty. Everything for skin, hair, nails...I could go on and on. Bryant also gave me a good tip about less being more, which I really need to take to heart because I tend to go way overboard when I use my hair products. Then I get mad at myself. I walked in and no "hello" no "can we help you with anything" just two employees chatting and not being completely dismissive of a customer. I'm a big fan of voluspa candles and this store has a huge variety. I picked up a few candles and some skin care by dermalogica. Upon entering the store I was greeted by the sales associate Romania who was excellent she not only provided excellent customer service to me she also provided great service to the additional customers who came into the store. I used to really like coming here... until today. Usually I'm satisfied with the products I find here and that's because I typically only pick up my "go-to" items. I have never really had to deal with their return policy before. This time around, I had picked up a face wash and toner which disagreed with my skin. They refused to do a refund or, at the very least, an exchange. It was very disappointing since I've been a customer for a very long time. If you plan to try a new product and are unsure whether or not you are going to like it, don't buy it here. It usually takes a month to see results with anything new, but by that time, you fall out of Planet Beauty's 30-day policy, and you will be SOL if dissatisfied. You're better off going to Sephora, where they make customer satisfaction their #1 priority. If you don't like something, Sephora will gladly exchange/refund the product, to ensure you are happy. It makes trying new product less risky, because no matter what, they won't force you to keep a product that doesn't work for you. Rather, they'll help you find the right one. Note to management at Planet Beauty: A little customer service goes a long way. read more

I needed a last minute makeup look for an event & Tammie gave me a full spa treatment with it, made me glow like never before & then helped me get products at the best deal, even telling me when some things would be on sale the following week. I literally just got back from this place and got the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. I'm a dude.. I don't need to normally go into a place like this but I needed pomade. So I go in and ask if they've moved the men's products because I can't find them, and the snarky sales woman says with complete attitude, "SAME PLACE." Ok, so I go up to buy the overpriced stuff, and as I am paying with my AMEX I also ask her to please break a $20. She says "I have no change." I say, "Well what if I paid with cash... She says, "Well it's more than $20" "So I pull out another $20" and she states, "We're not a bank, we don't give change." So I said.. "you know what, just refund my money, I'll take my business elsewhere.." She says they only do exchanges. I say fine exchange it out and I'm paying with cash." She reluctantly does it and keeps stating they are not a bank. I mention, it's ok if I was someone off the street but I'm a customer asking them to break some bill. The attitude is unreal here. When I tell her I won't be coming back she says, "It's ok.. we have plenty of customers" Great! Hopefully those customers will read my yelp review and decide to take their business somewhere that values them. Like another reviewer said... Screw this place!
