Customer service for sure is lacking. We came here after going to universal studio and we were looking for a perfume and found it. We were getting a price check and the guy at the register was snobby and rude. He cut us short when we were explaining where the item was located. Maybe hire more girls or train these guys better. When advised Amanda that I was looking for the rep that helped me she looked at me very confused and when I asked her if she knew what a sales rep was she got very nasty and requested the manager as if trying to get me kicked out!!! One of the managers a young handsome Hispanic gentleman defused the situation and helped me through my perfume purchase! Strolled into this bright lavish well staff wonderland of scents, aromas and skincare where I was greeted right away along with other patrons who came in before and after me. Located just across from Hot Topic and towards the mid front end of CityWalk - Sephora of Universal Studios Hollywood's outdoor shopping & eatery plaza extravaganza is chic and trendy and fairly easy to navigate... Not to narrow with plenty of space around shelves and displays. They have many sales reps on the floor and tons of hand sanitizer stations between testing products and getting a closer look at some of their quality selections. Absolutely slaying it with the health and safety practices, especially at check out. Other than not having any single bottle nail polish... (Awww) at this location (though they do carry a bundle pack with some essential colors)... I do recommend Sephora UCW for skin care, health/beauty and fragrances. Definitely not just a makeup store, lots of great gift ideas and items for all genders. I was asked for help by more than one rep on the floor, which was a treat... So getting help on any question or advice is pretty fast and efficient. read more

Had a ful triol wax appointment done today with Amanda! She was sweet and is very knowledgeable in her work. Being someone who knows nothing about how to shape eyebrows, I gave full reign to Amanda. Thank goodness I did! She made the entire process so easy and pain free. She would tell me what she was doing and what I should expect pain wise. She asked me what it was I was looking for. It's always a hit or mess with these "beauty associates ". I walked in and usually there's two employees greeting, watching by the door but there was no one. I spot an employee chatting it up with his co worker and I approach him, kindly ask if i can get help with a pickup order & he so rudely cuts me off and says "Give me a minute". Points his grimy finger and says "Go wait over there". (The order online pick up in store area.) He makes me wait about 3 minutes so he can finish talking and I present my barcode and proceed to ask about the Rare Beauty blush. You'd think he'd push for customer loyalty and simply answers " Oh, for thaaat particular blush you have to keep in mind its ALWAYS out of stock . We get shipment every Monday but we don't know what we get. Perhaps try ordering from the actual website itself." Soo much for pushing for sales huh? He was rude, not welcoming, some tone to his demeanor and makes me question if Sephora as a company really cares about their customers & how they're being serviced. Idk what his name was, but he was like 5'9 with dark hair and thick glasses. All the other associates I've ever been helped nice have treated me way better if even just asking a question. I went to this Sephora location while on a California trip, and I am not even kidding when I say that the employees there were the SWEETEST people I've ever met! One specifically, Amanda Renee, was so helpful and kind, and helped me with whatever I needed despite having to clean up all of the rain I trailed into the store. I LOVE that City Walk has a Sephora location now. I went opening day and there were a lot of customers. Because it was opening day, they were giving lipsticks away for a certain amount of the first customers and if you were lucky, you might win a giftcard. Just like any Sephora location, it has all of your staples.. makeup, perfumes, skincare, haircare, nail polishes. Most of their products are on display and you can ask for a sample (so you don't have buyer's remorse later on). All of the employees were SUPER NICE and PROFESSIONAL. I've been to a few locations were the employees would just lash out at their customers. Parking: Because Sephora is located on City Walk, you have to pay for parking because it's attached to the themepark. The closest parking structure to Sephora is Jurassic. This location is convenient if you happen to already be at City Walk, but if you were just going to this location for Sephora alone, it might not be work it. Prices for City Walk parking: Before 6pm: General parking $25 Preferred Parking $45 Front Gate Parking $50 After 6pm: General Parking $10 Preferred Parking $20 Front Gate Parking $30 BUT if you are watching a movie, it is $5. (you will receive a refund at theatre box office with purchase of a movie ticket and general parking voucher). The universal tram is also available, so you can avoid parking. read more

Didn't expect them to be open today but the store looks beautiful and the staff is great. Definitely a great add on to universal city walk. Don't mind me stopping by often. The store is fairly large. It's located where upstart crow/ coffee bean used to be. They have everything a normal Sephora would have. The only con for a few people would be the parking. Unless you got an Uber/ Lyft you do have to pay for parking. Other than that. Kudos! read more

I was excited to go Sephora because I received a gift card for Christmas. I was planning on buying full face makeup items. When I got there, I'm not sure what I did wrong because as I went into the Urban Decay aisle, one worker came up to me and asked if I needed help but she didn't sound nice about it. I said "no, thank you", she left and not 10 seconds later another worker approached me and asked if I needed help. She also didn't sound nice about it. I had about 5 different employees ask me if I needed help in a very short amount of time and all of them sounded very off. Finally, after I found a lipstick shade that I liked, I was talking to my friend about it, and another worker came up to me and was like "Can I help you?" I told her I couldn't find the lipstick shade for purchase and if she could check for me, if there was any chance it could be in the back and she instantly got defensive and said "No, we don't keep anything in the back." She stared me down. It felt like she was treating me like a thief. I felt incredibly targeted, and the workers were hostile. I ended up going to the Sephora at the Burbank Empire Center. The staff there were great and incredibly kind and helpful. A stark difference to the treatment I had received. STAY AWAY from this Sephora. Especially if you're excited to buy anything, their hostile and rude customer service will ruin the experience. read more

Ok so I've been to this location before and so far have never had a bad experience. Today I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO TATIANA.! She hooked my eyebrows up.! I haven't had my brows done in maybe over a year and she worked her magic. I felt so comfortable in her hands. As a queer person that matters and is very important to me. she was so genuinely nice and listened to what i like and gave me the best suggestion for what to do with my brows. She gave me some great easy pointers for my brows that really made the difference. My brows look great I feel stunning and tatiana did that for me today. Awesome as a Sephora store can be. Very consistent with product offerings and branding. The thing that made this location stand out is the service. Not one of the people working we encountered was unkind! Every step of the way someone was there to help my friends and me. One associate, Dani, was so awesome in helping me get my fragrance samples and pointing out perfumes that I would be interested in buying. Me and my mom came in after attending Universal studios..we just wanted our birthday gifts, but were greeted by no one after being in line literally 10 minutes. The black girl at the register was working real hard for a tip from the people she was helping because she literally didn't acknowledge anyone else waiting in line and was the only person at the register. I watched as another associate walked right by as well. I guess if they don't see anything in your hand, you won't get asked what you need here. We finally just left. On the way out I ran into an associate and asked for assistance but I told her don't worry about it if she had to page someone..either they were short staffed or didn't gaf. I used to work for sephora and wow have things changed..at my store no one went ungreeted, and even if you were working the floor you were supposed to hop on the cash wrap to help with the line when needed. Sephora employees usually have a reputation for ignoring women who don't have beautiful makeup but Jacqueline was different. Right when I stepped in she asked me if I needed help (which I did) and she got right to pointing out some skin care sets. She was very knowledgeable about the products and offered me samples on moisturizers with SPF. She also offered me to sign up for their free skin care class--which I did sign up for but ended up canceling. Thank you for being so genuinely friendly and for the extra sample goodies you threw in. My GF dragged me in here!!!! Not that bad though. She was just trying to spoil me and buy me some cologne for Xmas. Lucky me! Came out with 4 different colognes Wooo. Gucci. Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani and Paco Robanne. That should last me all year! I had to get her a makeup set she's been bugging about for a while but they had pretty decent deals for the holidays. Only problem for me was the darn line. So many people and extremely crowded. I honestly thought this was an all women's store with just perfume and makeup but now that I know I can get my cologne here and they have better prices than Nordstrom. When I went it wasn't crowded but was told it gets crowded at nights and on the weekend. The parking at this location is a nightmare. Took me 40min to park last time and this time it's hell again. It's $30 bucks to park 10min walk to this store. Then the parking people send you to another garage: "it's left then right left left look for a sign go around the corner right right and three lefts you can't miss it". Ended up back on the freeway twice. I sound like a grandma but I'm actually an amazing driver who never gets lost. This store is located in the heart of the tourist trap. Just paid another 30 bucks just to exchange a fragrance. They do have a 15 min drop off area but if you're 1min late you get a parking ticket. Last time the parking guy gave me the option to park closer for 90 bucks. Yep you heard that correctly that's 90 bucks to park your car. After certain hours or before certain hours parking is 10 bucks somewhere around here but I'm yet to find it. The store itself looks like a generic Sephora although it seemed busier. read more

I spend wayyy too much money at Sephora and this store is one I frequent most often. I love to goto the physical stores to explore the newest makeup and hair brands coming in. The staff members at this location are some of the nicest. The store itself is also well organized (unlike the Glendale location) which I super appreciate and doesnt ever feel terribly overcrowded when I go due to the well spread out isles of items. For things like makeup and perfumes it is an absolute must to play around with in the store and no one follows you around bothering you about doing just that nor rushes you while in there.
