The equipment is in excellent condition and they recently replaced most machines with newer ones over the last year. They have a good selection of cardio machines as well, including treadmills, stairmasters, bikes, and ellipticals. There is a regular workout class schedule included with membership, however, I have never attended. There are large dedicated locker rooms with showers that are always clean! However, you do have to bring your own lock. They also recently just added dry saunas to the locker room included with membership as well. Overall, excellent gym, I would recommend it to anyone!

I used to sign up for women's only gyms because of the sheer amount of people at Good Life and LA - it was just obnoxious - and also everyone was magically already in good shape. At Terries, I think the max amount of people I've ever seen in this gym at once is 15 - which is fantastic. Because the space is sort of divided into different areas, it never actually feels as busy as it may be. Personally I go on my lunch breaks or two hours before closing as I find those are the emptiest times, and who doesn't like having the gym to themselves? Can this gym use some upgrades? yes. Slowly I am seeing a bunch of newer machines make their way into the gym, but the machines they have still get the job done. This is a no-frills gym with great staff. Terry and her husband are also great. My only complaint is that it needs to be cleaned a little more thoroughly, it could use a good dusting.

This time, my fiancé found Pro Muscle Lifting Club on Instagram and reached out, and from the very start, the owners (or account manager) were incredibly communicative and welcoming. The gym is in Buffalo, about a 15-20 minute drive from Lewiston, but it's absolutely worth it. The equipment is some of the best we've ever seen--seriously impressive--and they even have dumbbells that go up to 150 lbs. they also have cardio machines. We were there during Thanksgiving week and wanted to workout on Thanksgiving Day. To our surprise, they responded to our Instagram message promptly to let us know they'd be open! Meeting them in person only made us more impressed. We liked it so much we upgraded our day passes to a weekly pass, even though we were only going to be there three days. The gym itself is spacious, well-organized, clean, and free of clutter. They have a few machines and attachments we'd never seen before, which made for exciting and challenging workouts that left us both sore in the best way. There was no crowding at all--maybe 20-25 people when we were there--which made for a comfortable and focused workout environment. For bodybuilders, this gym is a dream--there's even a posing room! On top of that, the owners suggested a really tasty and healthy lunch option that we truly enjoyed. This gym has officially become our New York "gym home," and we can't wait to visit again. Members are issued a fob to use to enter the facility. The front desk person almost always greets us. There are plenty of machines, and many treadmills and stationary bikes - seldom out of order. Spray containers of disinfectant and loads of white wash clothes abound for members to wipe down equipment. I feel obliged to note that I was duly unimpressed by the group fitness class I attended. On my first visit, the instructor was curt and unwelcoming, barking at me that I wouldn't like the class, in front of the class. She never met me. Knew nothing about my abilities nor interest. The classmates were kind and told me I'd get "used to her". Ah. No. No. No; wrong on so many levels. Especially when a newbie comes to class, who might be self conscious or introverted or scared to attend an exercise class. People will never forget how you made them feel. (Said Maya Angelou) It is a joy to see people of all ages and abilities using the machines. I've seen elders on the bikes and tweens on the treadmills. Wee ones stroll by from the daycare area to play in their own area apart from the adults. There are large tvs and music is also piped in. It feels like a completely non-judgmental environment, and aside from the group class encounter, it's my kind of place.

Victor's skillset is very rare to happen across. He has a Masters in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences from UB's School of Public Health and Health Professions (where I happen to work in another dept - and I understand that the ENS program is an excellent one). Victor also has an accomplished background in body building (note: the gym is not a body building gym, rather it is family friendly and very welcoming for clients with health challenges). I've had some very challenging exercise related restrictions to work around, and I never expected the results that we have achieved to date. I doubted that I would ever be able to work out in a meaningful way again but Victor worked with me to find a path towards a sustainable fitness plan. Additionally, my two sons work out with Victor. To them, exercise is not a boring chore, rather they view it as a challenge that can be enjoyable and not lacking in creativity. I noticed the other two complaints posted as Yelp reviews. For my part, Victor has always responded to my inquiries in a timely fashion. He's been every bit a conscientious business owner. It is a shame that those reviews may prevent others from discovering this wonderful gym.

This seems to mean we crawl a lot (that is way harder than it sounds). Crossfit generally is a fun way to work out because they are group classes focusing on full body movements that really challenge you, but there tends to be a great camaraderie. Rob, the owner, seems to teach 90-95% of the classes and he has a nice welcoming attitude and does not push hard on trying to sell you products and classes (if you like, you sign up ... he doesn't seem to really lobby people... they just like it or not ... most seem to like it). It's $150/month for unlimited classes so it costs more than joining a gym but you get something a lot better than a gym. If sign up as a couple the second person is 1/2 off. My only gripe is the class times. My kids are in school/daycare from 8am to 6pm, but there is only one class during that window. Schedule seems to work well for others though (I still can't get over how big that 5am class is!) Classes last an hour and happen at 5am, 6am, 9:30am, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm. When trying to find this place, look for the sign on Main street. It is behind the Apple Wood Cafe next to the Leon Beauty School (that Leon place keeps moving around though so maybe not the best landmark)
