They have modern machines, weights, barbells, pull up bars, locker rooms, and huge space. Collectively, this is a good gym to get membership. I've been coming to this Planet Fitness in Fairfield on and off for close to 8 years since I used to work in the area and still do business here occasionally. Whenever I'm staying overnight in Fairfield, this is usually my go-to gym. If you know how to work out, Planet Fitness honestly has everything you need to get a solid and effective session in. You may not have the heaviest equipment like a hardcore lifting gym, but you can still stimulate muscle growth, get a great workout, and make real progress if you train with intention. This location is a decent size, the staff is friendly, and the gym stays pretty clean. The restrooms are decent too -- I've been to a lot of Planet Fitness locations and this one is definitely not the worst. I usually come early in the morning to avoid crowds, so I can't speak much on the evening rush, but every gym gets busy at peak times so that's not exclusive to Planet Fitness. Overall, for the price and what you get, this Planet Fitness still provides a lot of value. I haven't had issues with other members either -- most people are just there to get their workout done. One final note: like anywhere else, it's smart to be aware of your surroundings and not leave valuables in your car. That's not specific to this gym, it's just general common sense these days. I was in the area and had some time to kill before my son's high school water polo watch so I decided to try out the local Planet Fitness. The parking lot was pretty full and I realized how small it is compared to the surrounding area. But I didn't have to park too far and I was inside after a quick walk. Check in was smooth and I immediately had to use the bathroom after the drive from West Sac. Bathrooms could've been a bit cleaner but it was around 3:30 pm so the after work crowd was in full effect. The machines here were newer than what I'm used to and I liked that. The gym was pretty full but there was still a lot of cardio machines available. The overall size of the gym was huge. Spacious and the weight machines weren't on top of each other or crowded. One of the nicer Planet Fitness gyms I've been to. read more

This was the club I originally joined around 5-6 years ago, but my home club has changed a couple times since (once involuntarily and the other by choice). This location is a franchise location. Meaning you're limited here for club-to-club use with a Black Card membership if this isn't designated your home club. Kinda bogus policy, because the Black Card membership has always been upsold as granting access to all Planet Fitness locations (somewhat a misleading statement). This location is older and noticeably smaller than most of the newer, bigger-box style Planet Fitnesses. And the Black Card Access area is tiny too, with quite a few less amenities and pieces of equipment than any of the other PF gyms I've been to. Parking can be a headache during busier times. And the immediate area can get dicey amongst a slew of the unhoused in the area. Not an area that I would feel comfortable parking my ride multiple times a week. And there is no parking lot security that I'm aware of. With my limited use passes, I entered the gym recently a couple of times over a 4-5 day span, out of emergency bathroom necessity when in the area on other business. Early morning, when the restrooms should've been freshly serviced for the day. However, the men's restroom was in pretty bad condition, looking like it hadn't been cleaned in probably 24 hrs or better. T.p. and toilet seat covers littering the floor in clumps, empty or low dispensers, visible urine over the floor. In a word, disgusting. And likely not a "one-off" occurence. Guessing other areas of the gym are equally overlooked. Petrie dish smorgasborg & pathogen nightmare brewing. They're either blowing off the cleaning detail, or the cleaning crew--if they even have one--is really incompetent. The members deserve better. read more

And again I was out of state I seen that I was getting emails that a card that I was using with failed and I called about it and they said I had to personally come in to that store in Fairfield evidently they weren't very clear on that given me, no other options to pay. It turns out after getting back paying my bill personally walking into the one in Fairfield they charged me a $30 late fee and then I asked then was there another way for me to pay and they said yes you could've gone online but that option was not given to me while I was out of state not to mention the individual young boy was looking into it and questioning me why I was late well I'm an adult here and I don't have to explain anything to them about that part. Try to get a refund from the manager. She refused to give me his name and refused to address the $30 late fee given the current situation. I was out of state and not given any options so at one point, I will probably change who I'm paying my fees to for their services. I'm gonna keep it out of there franchise at one point or another. I am working on that currently I don't like being treated like this and I don't like being treated badly and the fact that they should be better trained management and employees. read more

I just want to thank the night shift at planet fitness, in Fairfield, they keep the gym clean and stock up on supplies that are needed on the floor and the locker rooms. They are a bunch of friendly young adults and they treat you like a friend not a number! Very professional in their job and take care of any issues that come up with their members! This is a clean well-run gym. It starts with the professional and friendly staff on the night-early morning shift. Julius in particular is always friendly and happy to see me. The employees are standing behind females on the stair master checking them out. Not proffesional at ALL. Employees are not checking clientele for passes allowing "youngsters" to get in for FREE. I've been a member over a year now. The gym has all of your basic amenities for a good workout. Generally, the gym is quite clean; from the entrance to the workout floor and to the bathroom. The staff has always been cordial and says "hi" or "welcome" when I check in. The gym just got an upgrade with a bunch of new equipment. There's plenty to go around. There is no fancy Olympic size pool, basketball courts, sauna, hot tubs or classes to take. It's a very basic gym and unpretentious! It's really missing some "boxes" to do standing jumps or heavier Kettleball. I also think the men's shower stalls need a deep clean. ;-( read more

This is the closest gym to my house and I didn't have a good experience the past couple of times coming here, due to the staff being disrespectful to me for no reason. I go to a different location now, where I'm respected & appreciated by the staff members. I won't be coming to this location anymore. I used to like this location but I will now only go to Vacaville because of the employee I ran into today. I only use this gym for tanning but work out at inshape. I've been doing this for years, but today as I was cleaning the bed that was dirty. When I went in there, the employee started banging on the door and when I opened it, she said I couldn't tan because it was an hour earlier than what I had done the day before. I could've understood the explanation before I cleaned the dirty bed and without the banging on my door. But then to top it off when I went to the Vacaville location the employees there all had a note about the situation on my account. I don't know what kind of power trip this person was on, but I won't go back to this location. I don't have time for petty employee. And there's homeless and crime all over. If you go to planet fitness on north Texas st maybe you may not only lose weight when you cancel your membership make sure they also cancel your automatic payment. My daughter canceled her membership in August 2024 for some reason I didn't realize and they have been charging me until July 2025, when I went to speak with them after Several times finally the manager called me and she said they only return 60 days but I don't think that's right. Tbh, I've always looked down on planet fitness in other cities because they were poorly run and maintained. This one however, it's amazing. Very clean and much more variety of equipment I've seen from others. Staff are friendly and helpful when needed. I wish all locations were like this. And for the price? Don't really have any issues with this place that I would consider pressing. Haven't been here since 2019, but they were really good about reactivating my account on my first day back. I really love the app as it tells you whether the gym is busy and It was really slow when I got there. The pandemic has pretty much changed how we workout and blow off steam, but I slowly started to trust going in after almost 2 years of doing apps or trying to make use of the free weights I've purchased during the times the gym have closed. People are pretty good with social distancing, wearing masks in common areas, and cleaning equipment. I like the crowd meter on the app that helps monitor the amount of people inside... but then again I like going in when people are still nuzzled in bed. The app is great to get scanned and checked in the gym. I like the huge gym space that allows for more than 6 ft to exercise. The times that I've gone in, staff is pretty good with monitoring for random people who shouldn't be inside, the place is clean, and overall I feel secure regarding safety and Covid. I just like to bring my belongings, lock it up in the lockers and go about my business with weights and treadmills ... and sometimes listen to the random guy who sings along to his 80s power ballad soundtrack (pre omicron). read more

They always tell you they are not here but leave your information.But somehow they conveniently they are never there. I have left my name and number to NO EVAIL! I don't like the new teenage program they started where teenage can come to gym any time for free.. LISTEN I am not against it.. very nice thinking but it is not fair for people who actually pay to come and either have to wait or not get chance to use all the exercise equipments as teenagers sits there and doing nothing but being on their phone or chit chatting making noises. I also noticed many people were frustrated today like me. Your idea to encourage teenagers is brilliant but I would suggest set a time and schedule for teenagers to come when it is not that busy. May be 3x a week and on slow time. If this kind of stuff keep on happening I will ofcourse stop coming to this gym and I bet other people like me too will do the same. read more

This planet fitness is located near a large shopping center in Fairfield not too far from the freeway. I came here as I was in town for work and Planet fitness is my usual spot. I pulled up and walked in to pretty friendly people working the front desk. As usual I headed to the bathroom to pee and wash my hands before touching dirty equipment then went to work. I will say that this location was pretty standard shaped and had all the usual machines I am used to with a few small variances. The 30 minute work out is by far my favorite and the machines there were all new and well maintained. The people there working out were there with their headphones and doing there own things. I saw no douches or lunks which was great. It's a pretty good spot and definitely the best one I have been to between Sacramento and suisun city so will probably end up coming back. read more

Worse gym experience I have ever dealt with. The Gym isn't clean, the staff (God bless them) a little slow but it stems from management. The front desk who greet and answer the phones have false information. The training is lacking. They don't know the right information for billing and contracts. There's no accountability when it comes to information. They will find any and all reasons to charge you for extra months. I suggest going to Crunch, 24 hour fitness, or anytime fitness. Compared to all of the other planet fitness gyms that we have been to which includes Vacaville, Vallejo, Napa, and Concord, this gym is by far in my opinion the best bang for your buck. This gym has a huge selection of equipment to use and seven different spot mirrors you can work out in front of. There are divisional rooms that focus on different workouts including in a 12 minute ab workout, an all body workout, and a miscellaneous room for other workouts. The gym is kept clean and the bathrooms/lockers are kept in the back by the cardio machines. Although the gym may be clean I still recommend that you carry all of your belongings with you without using their lockers. I say this for every gym review because you never know if someone is going break your locker and steal your belongings. (This has happened to us at another gym) The gym itself is located in a corner of a huge parking lot, however is next to a DD's discount and the dollar tree. Just driving by the area there were some sketchy looking cars parked on the other side so beware on where you park and always hide your belongings in your car. The gym offers the same hydromassage as other local planet fitness' in the surrounding cities. I do recommend This gym because of the amount of space that there is. There is a sign in front of the door that says to mask up however we saw a good amount of people without a mask. I don't think that the workers are enforcing the mask option. I do know that other gyms are pretty strict and will still walk around to make sure that the planet fitness members have been mask above your nose and mouth. read more

Do not go to this gym! There are a lot of theft there and management does nothing! We got our money stolen and I have called management several times with no return call back of any updates! And when I called for the manager another staff asked if this was about the theft in the locker room, which it was not about that theft! just confirmed that there is a lot of theft there and management doesn't know how to handle it! worst part is staff knows who did it but still allow the members to come and won't turn them in! shady ass gym!! trust me DO NOT GO THERE!! read more

Never had any issues here. I tend to go when it's only moderately busy. A great beginner gym, always clean, no one bothers me. When it's busy it can be a bit loud but otherwise a nice choice that's close by if you're just starting out. The free weights don't go very high so if you want to go heavier then pick a different more advanced gym. read more

After being there for 3.5 years I can say that it gets the job done. Nothing flashy and as so long as you make it before the 5-7 PM weekday rush, you can get a wide variety of things done in terms of fitness. The staff are friendly and courteous. The only shortcoming is lack of lifting platforms. The equipment is well taken care of. There is constant upkeep and repairs of any machines and many cleaning areas for self accountability. The manager stopped me from working out because of a outstanding bill that randomly popped up from July 2021. Keep in mind I've current on bill, planet fitness just withdrew a payment from my account on Jan 18th. The manager decided to tell me today Jan 19th that he won't let me workout till i pay the bill from back 6 months ago. Shameful. I've been working out weekly and never once did anyone stop me for this reason. So I decided that planet fitness will no longer take my money from me, I quit . I've been a customer for over 5 years. This gym has potential to be great. They have LOTS OF PROBLEMS to work on. Please BEWARE this location allows homeless people into the gym and use restrooms/showers and even equipment. They have very young unprofessional staff that see homeless people just walk in!! Today as I walked out a ton of trash piled up of course like always but as I walked a little more I saw a pair of pants and underwear right out side of the entrance door!!! DISGUSTING!! You'll see some very sketchy people just standing around outside of the location watching you go inside. It makes me feel very uncomfortable so please keep your guard up specially at night and very early mornings. Great potential, this gym has everything I need but staff needs some help and Definitely need some better policies to not just allow random people come in and hang out. Infuriating that they allow people to keep locks on their lockers 24/7. All of the bigger lockers always have locks on them. Once in a while they will put up a sign that says "Locks will be removed", but the locks come right back after a day or two. Recently I counted 32 (!) locks on the lockers, and there were only 5 men in the gym. They should either cut of ALL locks during night shift (that aren't being used at the moment), or institute some sort of $5 per month locker rental for a section of the lockers where then you COULD keep you lock on at all time. read more

I signed up for a 6 am appointment ton"design your own program" and the person that was suppposed to be there was running late due to an accident. Now normally I'm understandable but clearly they're was no one else to help me out and I waited around for 30 minutes before anyone came to tell me anything. Why is there no one else who can do this? There has to be a better way to do this? I just paid for membership and I don't want to jump in and start something and not know what I'm doing.
