Recommend Always wipe your equipment before and after. I just saw an "old head" walk straight out the men's restroom urinal without washing his nasty hands and go straight to using the cables. This happens so often in gyms whether it be using the treadmill or stair stepper and women think they don't sweat so they don't clean it to this nasty display of not hand washing. I'm wiping every damn thing now. I'm gonna start wiping the wipes before I use those now!!! read more

Travis Fitness Center is a reasonably sized gym with basketball courts, racquetball courts, an indoor weight room, and an ample amount of cardio equipment. It also has an outdoor track and I believe outdoor weight area. The gym itself is clean and fairly organized; however, the indoor weight room has a ton of dust on top of most of the equipment. Other than that, it's a good place to work out at on base. It does, however, get quite busy for most hours of the day. read more

Nice gym with a great outdoor bumper plate gym with TRX, Pull-up Bars, Landmine station outdoor track, Kettlebells, Medicine balls, etc. Got a great workout. Wish it had a double end bag and heavy punching bag, but it is almost perfect and not crowded. The inside weights were nicely set up, but there are only 3 squat racks and they are crowded at lunch where the outside HIIT gym outside by the track was practically all mine. read more

Great gym with ample parking and tons of equipment. I go to this gym whenever I'm in Northern California, and was super stoked to see that they now offer after hours access when you register your CAC during normal business hours. This allows you 24 hour access to the gym, SCORE! I love going during the late night hours when it is empty, so this works perfect for me. They have converted some of the rooms by the racquet ball courts into a weight room with some cardio equipment, and another room into a smaller cardio room with ellipticals and row machines in addition to the already huge selection of equipment in the main area. I was kind of upset to see they put in yet another smith machine (now 3) in place of what used to be a dedicated deadlift/Olympic weight lifting area in front of the mirrors. Only 3 squat racks, BUT they do have an amazing outdoor free weight area full of racks and TRX setups. Freaking awesome that they invested in that, only wish that was open as a part of the after hours. Not much negative things to note other than the regular gym jerks that leave a fully laden stack of weights on a bar, but those pricks are everywhere. Five stars and I love coming to this gym! read more

First time coming to this gym on base and a great gym overall, had a good variety of equipment and not too busy. Although had a bad experience with the people working, very rude and disrespectful. My fiancé came in with me and they immediately said something about her shirt because it was showing the slightest bit of skin. Of course, we were understanding at first but they just laughed as we walked away. I told them they had guys on the basketball court without shirts on and I don't understand why only half enforce the rule. As we walked away they started laughing again. Making us uncomfortable, we went outside to try to find a hoodie or shirt to oblige to the rules. We went back in and she threatened to write my name down and call security forces. I'm not sure what they would've done considering we were just trying to use the gym on base. Dressed comfortably and looking forward to working out on our Saturday night. Very upset being treated this way and not even being able to be comfortable working out on base. read more

My daughter and I are going to the gym regularly. She is 8 years old. Because of her we can only work out in the family area. It's made of elliptical, treadmill, stairclimbers, rower and several weight machines. There are no free weights or kettle bells available. There's not an area to stretch or do Pilates. But I can't complain . At least there's a place for her and I to work out together. read more

This gym has come a LONG way from when I was dependent coming here! For those of you who don't know, the gym didn't go past the dojo. The cardio machines were in the room that the offices are in now, the weights were all in the dojo, and there was only one basketball court! Crazy to think about how much smaller it used to be! It's great that they've been able to add in so much. The track sucks (seriously? Who designed that?) and sometimes it seems like the treadmills that are out of order take awhile before they are fixed, but it's a nice facility. Two of the racquetball courts have been converted into workout areas; one across from peep drop, and another one where you can try out suspension training. They have a volunteer program for the SAHM who use the gym, use peep drop, donate an hour back, type deal. The hours are kinda weird, but it's a really nice way for those parents who can't drop their kids off at daycare or don't have anyone who can babysit for an hour so they can work out. They're in the process of renovating a lot of the floors right now, so some sections will be off limits. One of the best base gyms I've ever used. read more

Gym is always packed! And I mean always! But it's a great gym, they have a variety of machines, free weights, cardio equipment, and the lay out is pretty good, there is space for so many activities! :) It's a nice big gym with an awesome outdoor running track! They have racquetball courts, I saw racquetball equipment looked like you can use for free++ !! There is a sauna in locker rooms which are nice...this gym has basically everything! Tv's, workout rooms for classes, classes for the workout rooms! Haha you name it they got it! Maybe that's why everyone is here! Anyone stationed here has no reason to look off base for a gym, doubt you could find one this equipped. Maybe they should expand and become even more awesome because then they wouldn't have any complaints (packed!) I'll be part of the busy problem while I'm here for school! Thanks! read more

I came to visit this place yesterday with my parents since my dad and his brothers wanted to play a little of basketball. I'm a former military brat that no longer lives in the area. It was a serious flashback, knowing that I spent a great part of my high school days and early college days playing basketball or working out on the rowing machine here when they had tons of them. Everything looks the same on the outside, and a lot of the inside, but a great deal of equipment has been updated and/or changed, and seems like the gym has been kept up really well since the last time I was there--probably 6 years ago? This is probably one of the best things about having access to Travis AFB, its fitness center stands out and is a great resource to military personnel and its dependents. If you live in the area and have access to this place, you should definitely make use of it. read more

Great gym. Always plenty of machines regardless of how busy. I especially like the more personal workout room that consists of several ellipticals, weight machines, small mat area, etc.. Within this same hallway, there's racquetball, walliball, I think that's how it's spelled, and a daycare room. There's two enormous basketball gyms. And, outside is a track. There's also exercise classes like cycling, yoga, weights, dance, etc., just check the schedule to attend. I wish I was able to be more dedicated to going..yikes. read more

One of the best gyms I've ever been to. It's large, has everything you need and would want in a gym. There's plenty of machines to go around, the place is extremely spacious so you don't ever feel like you're pushing to get from point A to point B. The place is kept immaculate and there's never really that pungent smell you'd find at other gyms because I think the ventilation system is fantastic. There's a lot of parking and they have an amazing track in the back for those like me who prefer to run there instead of on a treadmill. There's so much you can do in different closed off sections.. it's a really good gym. Best I've been to yet. read more

Love this place maybe because this is the only gym I go to. Been going here since a young Airmen!! Ok the new rule with making the entire gym leave at 2000 and sign back in is asinine!!!! Why not just bring back badging in!!!!!! Dumbest rule. read more

VERY large facility and lots to do. Great rooms for those with children as well as programs for families. The cardio machines are tops and in very good condition. The track out back is very nice also and I love that it is not a regular shape track. I am looking forward to trying some of the classes very soon. read more

While there are several machines for getting your cardio on, I noticed there were several machines out of order and there was limited space for stretching and calisthenics. The main room behind the cardio machines were used for specific classes which was nice but it would be great to see more isolated rooms for other classes or more space for stretching or calisthenics. In the small space of the gym, everything seems to be stacked on top of other equipment instead of an isolated flow. read more
