You absolutely cannot beat the value of a Planet Fitness gym membership. Everything 99% of the population needs to get physically fit is available in this well equipped gym. Friendly staff that is always cleaning the facility and timely repairs when a piece of equipment goes out of order. It can get a little crowded at times but the app allows you to track crowd sizes. I really enjoy my time at Planet Fitness

It felt good to start back working out. We started early to beat the crowd and most machines weren't operational but we did what we could.

What can you say about Planet Fitness? It's the bargain basement of gyms, and you get what you pay for. If you want fancy, be prepared to spend $40 a month more at a gym with a bunch of amenities. Our Planet Fitness is so well-run! Always clean, stocked with paper towels and spray, and staffed by friendly, helpful folks! Other than that, it's a cheap gym. Weights (machines and free weights) and cardio equipment. I've gone for the last six months simply because that's all I need from a gym and you can't beat $99 for an entire year. As long as you know what you're getting and are fine with that, you'll like this gym. Otherwise, head to Lifetime or LA Fitness nearby. More expensive, but you'll get the pool and spin classes and all that jazz.

    Dried sweat on exercise equipment.

The club should put signs on all equipment -please wipe down after use. The total body enhancement therapy machine is also consistently dirty. Many times with a lot of hair and black dirt on floor. There is no trash can in the room even though there are paper towels. They could even mount a small trash can at eye level on the wall. They should put a sign up-you must wipe the machine down after use. The gym is very crowded as well. Even with three bars on the crowd meter, you frequently have to wait for a piece of equipment. They are also in desperate need of another set of adductor/inductor machines as there is almost always a wait. They have the room. In the past, they had an individual on staff that was constantly cleaning the machines. They even went around with a Swiffer duster. I have not seen that in the past year or so. Focus seems to be on bringing in as many people as possible. This is understandable but unfortunately , the size of this gym does not make for a comfortable workout experience . I think they need to explore expanding to a larger space.

Pros: Staff: The staff is always nice and you're always greeted with a smile. Equipment: They finally got new equipment. Makes the gym look better Cons: Equipment: They need new hand weights, ropes, more medicine balls and the like. The ropes are falling apart and snag a lot on random parts of the equipment. It's annoying. Trainers: There were a few trainers that I've liked. I've specifically enjoyed Devon's classes. His classes are challenging yet fun. Prior to Devon, my mom, who doesn't even work at the gym, was teaching the classes while the trainers would stare at their phones, sometimes sit down, and time them. Sometimes they'd throw in an additional exercise to the routine but for the most part, she'd teach the class. She even received an email about being "intimidating" which is absolutely ridiculous. We no longer attend the classes for that reason as much as we enjoyed them. The facility: It's smaller than the other gyms in Montgomery County and at least twice a month, the gym closes for plumbing issues of some sort. "Member of the month": Back in July, I was told I had become planet fitness member of the month and I was ecstatic. I didn't get my picture taken until August and I received a "Garmin" watch instead of a fitbit which was advertised on their sign. I was told I needed to wait to get my picture put up because their color printer wasn't working. They randomly got new management in the process of me waiting for my picture to be printed. I had to explain to the new manager that I was made PF of the month prior to her arrival. She took my picture with her cell phone and yet again, I had to wait because their printer wasn't functioning properly. I walked in todayto see someone else's picture in COLOR posted on the wall. And you can imagine how livid I was to see that. And the reasoning this time is that the regional manager said that they've changed the entire set up or whatever of member of the month and they no longer give out watches. And because of that, I guess I'm no longer counted. Their change in how they do things has nothing to do with me or what I was told. They could've let me know that it changed and I would've been glad to take another picture. I've been super excited about this for a very long time and am very disappointed about the entire situation. I do look forward to switching gyms soon. On the bright side, I got a free watch. So if you decide to become a member of this gym, don't have high expectations. You get what you pay for, right?

This has been there for nearly 2 weeks.

I have been coming here since moving to Gaithersburg about 2 months ago and even about 3 months before. It started out pretty alright but has started on a steady decline. I know I'm going to Planet Fitness and not Gold's or Lifetime so my expectations are curbed to a degree. It has most of the equipment I need to get a great workout in.... though it could be cleaner. A lot cleaner. The locker rooms are just really muggy and pretty gross. I can't fathom someone would want to shower there. You couldn't pay me enough. It hit the lowest point a couple weeks ago when I came in and saw trash cans/containers collecting water from a broken/leaky AC unit in the ceiling. The leg press was moved in order to not be completely unusable. I just received a text message saying they were temporarily closing to address the issue... nearly two weeks later as the situation has worsened. In short, I just expect better from the national institution PF is at this point. Well before that, I was looking for the medi balls. The guy working the counter said "we had to take them away, we can't have nice things". I'm guessing this means people were stealing them? Apparently, that is now my problem in that if I want to use the medi balls, I have to leave something up there to barter. That's really ridiculous. This issue is theirs and it should not be affecting all members. I really wanted to like Planet Fitness, and a lot of people really enjoy it. I dig the mottos and the slogans, but this location is just the pits. Corporate should really intervene. When that OneLife opens up in the Fall I'll certainly be visiting PF a lot less or cancel altogether unless they get their act together. Maybe you just get what you pay for with the Wal-Mart of gyms.

These candy have being here since last week I use this treadmill.

I was looking forward to relaxing my muscles and taking advantage of this amenity. Before I joined, Diana gave me a tour of all three floors and explained that there are four recovery rooms. She told me that if I wanted to use one of the recovery chairs, I could simply wait outside the room for the next available chair, and that each session is limited to 15 minutes per person. The Recovery Room was one of the features that most interested me when deciding to become a member. Unfortunately, my experience today was very disappointing. There were no clear instructions regarding how the waiting process works, and no staff member was present at the Recovery Room front desk to assist members. As a result, people were able to cut in line easily, making the process feel unfair. When I needed assistance, I was told to go all the way to the main front desk on the first floor, which was inconvenient and frustrating. In the end, I was unable to use a recovery chair despite waiting, and the overall experience left me very disappointed. I would appreciate it if Life Time could review and improve the management of this area by providing clear instructions, a fair queuing system, and better staff oversight. These improvements would help ensure that all members can enjoy the facilities fairly and have a positive experience.

The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.

The staff used micro aggression to consistently push my child out of the kids center. Several incidents happened during my visits over a few months. I started to notice the staff who was all Latina women singled my African American son out and they would restrict him from Bringing comfort toys, such as hot wheel cars. He is 4 yrs old and does not like to share. They said he can't bring his cats bc he does not want to share with other kids. However I saw that they would allow all the other kids who were Hispanic to bring whatever they liked including cars . I brought this to there attention several times and observed how they treated him and one day I had enough. A child who was older and bigger pushed my son while I was in the kids center picking up my son to leave . 4 Latina women staff were working and saw the kid push my son and said nothing . So I stuck up for my son since these 4 women did nothing and I told the older kid to keep his hands to himself, my son did nothing to him and he had no reason to push my son. When I redirected and corrected the Chikd. The staff told me I needed to leave. Then this same 6 year old who pushed my son called me out of my name and said I was a "bitch". The staff said nothing to him at all. They grabbed him Because he was running up to me aggressively. I lost it at that point and demanded to speak with the manager who the staff claimed was off. This was on a Friday and the staff told me the manager would not be back until Monday well I came back everyday until Monday and requested to speak with anyone in charge. The manager just keep avoiding me. The manager saw me on that Monday I spoke to her saying hello then she totally disappeared I never saw her again while I was at the gym and when I asked where the manager was the front staff told me she left to go on a break but she had just arrived to work 10 minutes before I saw her. After she ducted out on me I wrote to corporate. Once corporate and the CE0 got word. The area manager called me and basically told me my kid who got bullied probably needed to take a break from the kids center and told me to never speak directed to the kids if my son was ever hit, or abused by another kid to tell the same staff who watched him get pushed. After that I never took my son there again and I never visited that gym again. The staff sat back and watched these 5 kids bully my son and did nothing bc they were all Latino and they look out for their own. I highly recommend to not use this la fitness. They allow bigger kids to bully younger kids and they are not truly watching what's going on. The kids in there just run wild and are allowed to do whatever if they are Latino.

The weight machines labels for the weights are all but coming off. The decore - as with my other LAF location on the West Coast - very, very dated (2000's). The cleaning staff seem to be present and doing their jobs but it's impossible to clean used/aged equipment. We are reporting an assault that took place around 2:30 PM in the Women's Locker Room, and we are asking you to take decisive action against the woman who attacked Ruth. Ruth reported the incident to Wes, the Club Manager. Wes spoke to the attacker before she left the premises. We do not know her name or what she said, but Wes should have her contact information. Ruth also filed an Incident Report with the Montgomery County police. After that, we asked Wes what action he was planning to take. He indicated that he was documenting and reporting the incident "in case it happens again," but that he did not intend to take any action against the woman after this one incident. We consider this an unacceptable response. For this reason, we are writing to you under the assumption that you will agree to take more decisive action. Wes gave us your email address. Background Ruth has noted several times that women regularly wear street clothes and street shoes in the sauna. In addition to the fact that your posted policy does not allow this, Ruth knows that it is unhygienic and unsafe. We have attended other fitness clubs where this policy is enforced. Why isn't it being enforced at this club? Ruth has mentioned the problem to club staff on several occasions, but it seems that no corrective action has ever been taken. Recently, Ruth was advised by a front-desk staff member to politely ask the person to leave the sauna and also to report noncompliance to the front desk. On this particular occasion, Ruth made sure she had the front desk phone number so she could call from the locker room, if necessary. I am attaching a photo of the sign posted outside the women's sauna at this club. I am also including a statement we found on Google/AI that purports to be LA Fitness's policy statement and explains "why" you have this policy. The attached statement ends with the following: Violating these rules directly breaches your LA Fitness membership agreement. Club managers frequently monitor these areas, and tampering with equipment or disrupting others can result in the immediate suspension or termination of your gym membership. The incident Ruth reports that she went into the sauna around 2:30 PM, wearing her bathing suit and wrapped in her towel. There was a woman in street clothes and street shoes sitting on the top bench. Ruth mentioned to her that outside clothing and outside shoes were not allowed in the sauna. The woman said she had not seen anything about this in the sauna requirements. Ruth told her the restriction was included in the Sauna Rules that were posted on the outside wall. When the woman did not respond, Ruth stated that she was going to the front desk. The woman followed Ruth out of the sauna and trapped her against the wall in the locker room, opposite the sinks. She shoved her cell phone in Ruth's face and started recording. She accused Ruth of being a racist and carried on with abusive, accusatory language. In an attempt to diffuse the situation with lightness and to let the woman know how ridiculous her behavior was, Ruth gave her a "raspberry" with her tongue. The woman accused Ruth of spitting on her -- which Ruth says she did not do. The woman then hit Ruth forcefully on the side of her face with a wadded-up towel, knocking Ruth's glasses off her face and sending them across the floor. The blow to the side of her head was painful. The woman called her an "old, white racist." Ruth dialed 911, but had to hang up because she couldn't complete the call while being pinned and intimidated. She managed to free herself and got out of the locker room, but the woman followed her out into the hallway and continued to scream insulting, berating, and threatening comments at her. Ruth went to the front desk and asked a staff member to call 911; but at the same time, the 911 Non-Emergency Unit started calling Ruth back due to her previous incomplete call. Ruth answered their call and asked them to come out so that she could file a police report. Concurrently, one of the staff members interviewed the offending woman. However, by the time the police came, the woman had left the premises. Later, the police officer interviewed the two staff members as part of Ruth's incident report. We should mention that the woman did not physically touch Ruth with her own hands or body. Ruth felt stung on her face but was not physically bruised, and her glasses were not damaged. However, she has been experiencing PTSD-like reactions for the past several nights and is still quite shaken. Requested Action We are asking you to formally reprimand the woman who assaulted Ruth. She needs to be told that her behavior will not be tolerated. She should be banned from the locker room and the sauna for a period of time.

Alex (the owner) is my trainer now - I work out with him 3 times per week. He is among the most knowledgeable professionals in the business! In my two months with RedZone, i have seen my neck and shoulder pain disappear through a very focused training regimen. Alex also works with my Physical Therapist to tailor workouts to my needs! I would highly recommend RedZone fitness for either one-on-one personal training, their bootcamps, or any other service they would provide.

Alex is unquestionably one of those rare trainers who understand both the psychological and practical aspects of training. He is quick to tune into the personalities of his clients and push/encourage them accordingly, and he isn't rigid in his training approach -- if you want to skip or modify an exercise, he is happy to adjust the workout. His compliments are genuine, and he never judges you for failing to finish an exercise, resting, or confessing to a bad week of eating. Finally, I enjoy the style of the workouts he provides for me. Lots of creative exercises and new twists, yet all very functional. And because his exercises tend to utilize multiple muscle groups, they provide a full-body workout -- you definitely get your cardio in addition to strength training, which is great for anyone who is crunched for time!
