While in the area I stopped in for tanning. There was ample parking and was easy to find. Upon entering the space looks large with a lot of equipment. The gentleman behind the counter was helpful and quick with getting me in for tanning. He was quick at multitasking by helping me and another customer with membership questions. this PF is the worst of all the GYMS the machines are old and we have a large membership and only 1 machine per body part. Gym bars for curls are few and there is only one straight bar for curls and triceps.not enough free benches only one bench and it's impossible to use. Tread Mills are worn and we are walk on the rolling bars under the rubber. I think you are greedy and could care less but I will make it a point to anger members and if we have to sign a petition to make a change or leave and go to a local gym. your tread Mills have hurt many a peoples back and I am one my PT told me stay away. I've been going to this gym for 5 years and I've never had any complaint so far until now with this new update that they have for the summer to letting teens having free membership for the whole summer. what I dont like about this is that when you want to exercise in one of the machines there is one of them just having out on their phones doing nothing for quite a while which is unfair for us paying customers that want to exercise and focus on our workout. please do something about this. read more

They let kids take over machines and don't do anything about it. The 30 minute express is over run by members doing whatever they want. You can't get a decent workout. You complain and management says they can't do anything about it legally. read more

Wow where can I start from the rude staff in the mornings, to the fact that the staff don't care if patrons don't wipe down the machines properly. As someone with a compromised immune system most people don't seem to wipe their machines down, making me wipe them down which interrupts my routine. The staff is rude and you are better off going to the planet fitness in the Riverhead location where it's more spacious and clean. Don't even bother going to the locker room, or massage chairs as they seem disgusting with filth in the mornings and evenings as well. The staff, particularly one employee, is rude to customers and has an attitude. If they are irritated at a customer and starts yelling then that should be indicative they should either be fired or learn what it means to provide good customer service. read more

Planet Fitness is opened again since end of August 2020. I was very concerned already end of February so I closed my account. Now that the New Year 2021 is here and there are vaccines available I have returned to use the equipment more importantly the massage chair hydro bed and some machines for stretching my back muscles. Planet Fitness and their staff are taking good measures of following all CDC guidelines so you the customer can work out safely. We all need to keep our immune systems high and our bodies fit. I joined planet fitness at the beginning of the year. The gym is really nice with plenty of equipment to offer. The facility is very clean and the crirwd nice to be around. There are 2 locker rooms where you can bring a lock, or buy one to store your things. The locker area has restrooms and showers as well. The staff is very nice too. read more

People take up the machines. There were six people doing the leg press machine. There is only one regular leg press machine. The people were on the leg press machine for 45 minutes. In addition people sit on the machines and have conversations and they don't workout yet they take up the machines. It is clean and staff is friendly. I'm shocked After reading previous negative comments that people complain and complain--I have to say iHampton Bays gym is the best gym around, the staff are friendly and always ready to help the members with any questions that you may have...also the staff keeps the entire gym cleaned along with the spa area consisting of the Hydro massage beds-massage chairs and the tanning areas and not to forget the showers and restroom area - there are spray bottles with cleaning solution and paper towels for your convenience throughout the whole area to wipe down the equipment before or after you have used them which is courteous and polite. read more

The manager of this establishment is staring, winking, and smiling at my girlfriend. Today he touched her arm and followed her around the gym. I will be following up with his supervisor and making sure that he is fired. This is not a joke, she goes to the gym for herself and is very uncomfortable because of this person. I have a love-hate-love-hate-hate then love for the Planet Fitness. If you want a World Gym, this is not that. And sometimes they don't seem to know that the air conditioner is set to broil. But the staff is stellar, and if you mention the thing about the air conditioner, they turn it up! Very nice people!!! Although I went to wipe down a machine I just used and a dude had gotten on it, and I said I had to wipe it down, and he was like "why?" And I was like "it's polite, and also, it's policy." The gym seems to have improved in cleanliness for the past few months, and the new machines are a good addition. There seem to be employees that are rude to customers, especially a few that yell at them. There was an incident that my friends and I were startled at when a planet fitness employee was making a scene in the 30 min circuit room this morning. Employees that have attitude should not be tolerated in this gym since it ruins the vibes to work out. The people around me looked speechless as this employee and this elderly couple was yelling at girls in the corner. I don't think whatever happened was dealt with properly, you guys need to work on people skills or have some sort of training on how to handle stressful situations. I am a black card member and have been to many other locations throughout the Long Island area. I was really unpleased with my experience today at this location. All other planet fitness gyms I went to were great but not this one. Staff was not friendly, machines are limited and equipment in general is older (felt unsafe using some equipment) and to top it off my gym guest was accused of "grunting" when they were simply taking deep breaths. I always hyped up planet fitness to my friends and family but bringing my guest today they were potentially going to sign up yet were turned off.. guess we will be attending other locations from now on. read more

Thought I'd give this place a try, never again. Most of the employees act like they are better than everyone else. Can't exercise without a bunch of sweaty guys with balloon like arms staring at you menacingly. There was what looked like urine on one of the treadmills. Most of the machines were taken by guys who were just talking and flexing their muscles or old men taking naps. They treated my friend terribly, probably because she was overweight. Joined about 3 months ago. My biggest complaint is lack of maintenance. Machines broken for months, 4 different machines down with no sign of being repaired. The staff seems very lazy and not knowledgeable at all. They are friendly, but that is not what I'm paying for. This is a great gym for the money. It has pretty much everything the average person would need. It's may not be for the gym enthusiast or the avidavid weight lifter. The selection of weights is limited and they do not offer any classes. But there is plenty or treadmills and elliptical machines. i was debating between pf and hampton gym in south hampton ( which i belonged in east hampton for a few summers). read the negative reviews and said drive the extra 15 minutes to sh. then i decided to try the day pass comp. i did . JOINED THE NEXT DAY. the gym is clean, staff friendly ( actually helped me with a billing issue which was my fault),machines in great shape, is a gym with very view trainers ( they take up space and talk too much) and few useless classes. i read machines that need repair take time. i do not find that. fixed in a few days. a very diverse mix of people which i like. i have worked out around the world. planet fitness in hampton bays is pretty good. the only drawback is massage chairs and tv. that is what people do at home and why they are unhealthy. take the space enlarge ab area, add bars for twists and rollers. above was unsolicited. i write reviews for both positive and negatives. this was a positive. read more

I am very disappointed that I called Planet Fitness to inquire about a free trial pass as I wanted to try the gym out to see if I liked it before deciding on signing up. I arrived at the gym attempting to try it out since they said it would be fine to obtain a trial pass if I came in to visit. Unfortunately, when I arrived they said that they do no offer trial passes and I could pay $20 to try it for a day instead. I will look for another gym in the area that offers a one week trial membership so that I can try it out before purchasing as I believe this is a standard practice for most gyms. read more

This is a rating of the Planet Fitness corporate policy of no cash checking account only. I wanted to pay for the entire year in cash but was denied membership. I don't want my checking account information in some corporations hands. I have had two credit cards compromised in the past few years but at least with those there are protections. If a personal checking account is compromised its a total loss. STOP this policy. Look out people you are vulnerable. The only reason this policy exists is to continue charging peoples accounts long after they stop using the service. Many people will have that monthly fee taken out long after they have stopped going and Corporate knows it. Call corporate and complain. read more
