I really dig this location. Smaller than other locations, but the staff are great and I get a solid, quick, workout when I need it. The only thing that I'd recommend is more restroom maintenance. There have been a few times that a ladies room toilet has been out of order. Since there are only a few, that can be a bit of an issue. Since the renovation there are not enough seated leg press or hip abduction/adduction machines. There used to be more, and now even when the gym is nearly empty there is often a wait for those machines. The one that is a combo hip abduction/adduction is very uncomfortable for a smaller person to use. Please get a few more of these machines! read more

So I decided to work out at a different PF to see what the set up is. This one has a good amount of cardio machines like the other ones but it is also smaller than the other one in Springfield and the one in Chicopee. I was surprised to see flat bench w/barbell since the other two doesn't have any. Environment is nice as the others but don't like the difference or lack of machine there. Edit: The facility was clean throughout and workers were pleasant and very approachable. All in all a good experience and I would return and recommend the facility to friends and family. read more

Clean facility with a decent amount of equipment. Allot of disinfectant spray bottles and paper towels on hand. Air conditioning is also very good. They do have small massage & tanning area as well. I work out here on some weeknights on my way home from work, instead of going into town to work at my usual location. I must say, with regard to staff, the West Springfield location of Planet Fitness has been excellent. I am always greeted with a smile and they are eager to help. The place is usually tidy just in time for the post-work crowd to arrive. Overall, they are more approachable and friendly than other PF locations I have frequented, so bravo on that note! The West Springfield PF is on the smaller side of locations I have been to. Out of the 5 gyms that I use between Amherst and Enfield, this gym has the most out-of-date equipment. The bulk of their machines are the older style models that I was used to seeing about 4-5 years ago- they are mostly in proper working order, but almost every time I come in, at least one machine is out of order. They do take care of repairs quickly, but I think it might be time for them to look into an over-all machine upgrade so that they will remain competitive with all the other gyms in the area. They have stand-up tanning booths only, and those booths are right on the workout floor, there is no separate changing area or even a nook that sets them apart from workouts so tanning in them is not a relaxing experience. There are no massage chairs or tables at this location. Overall, I think that the West Springfield location of Planet Fitness is a fine place to work out, but it is, without question, for your most basic and quick-and-dirty workout. Do not expect any bells and whistles and you won't be disappointed, but if you are running in to burn a few hundred calories on the elliptical for the day, it is more than adequate. With some more machine upgrades, and a continued dedication to good staffing, I think this location could probably earn another star. read more

This has been my gym and second home for the past five years. The staff are awesome, the place is always clean and the equipment has all been replaced over the past two years. You would be hard pressed to find a better crowd too. We have a core group of afternoon warriors that have become family to me. It's far and way the friendliest gym you will find in the area. All are welcome here. When I was a newbie just starting out with weight lifting I had MANY regulars and staff here give freely of their time and experisise. I would have never made the positive gains I have without this place or the regulars that go. The price point at ten dollars per month is something everyone can afford. read more

I went to this gym for about a year. The desk staff were great but the manager very unprofessional. My card had expired and she told me it (as well as my membership) needed to be renewed online. I never updated this after paying 20$ to workout one day. After her telling me it had expired I never went back and got a new membership at health trax mainly because of the classes. I'm still being charged at planet fitness. This was 4 months ago and I haven't been and they're still charging me. I called and she knew me and refused to refund me. I dont have a membership but get charged for one? Huge scam! I will never return to planet fitness! read more

I travel all over the country and I have the opportunity to visit planet fitness facilities in every state and I have to say, this facility is at the bottom of my list. The place is cramped and the restroom was nasty. I had to take a shower and the showers were very small and there was almost no privacy. There are no dressing rooms to get dressed in after you shower, it's an open locker room, like high school football all over again except I don't know any of the people looking at me while I stand there buck naked trying to get dressed as fast as I can. I won't be visiting this one again. read more

It's the most impressive fitness club in the area -new equipment, clean, open 24 hours and a great staff. This gym is not customer friendly at all. First, I visited the gym literally three hours after signing up online. I wanted to change my membership from all access to this specific gym only. I was not allowed. (Really???) And I could not cancel even though I had yet to lift a weight or use one machine! Several morning staff people are simply unfriendly and unhelpful when you walk through the door, impolite in general, as if you're interrupting their conversation or breakfast. Several members I encounter every morning hog various machines (supersetting) while wasting time on their cellphones, also not re-racking weights. I politely mentioned this to a staff person. Butnothing was done about it obviously because it still happens. These members are "friends" so... The gym itself is not for serious lifters. Little equipment . Geared to women and casual gym goers. It seems PF cares only about memberships not members. read more
