I am spoiled in that I get a discounted membership through my health plan that allows me to visit various gyms. Gotta say, this is my gym of choice. Brand new equipment, friendly staff, frequent cleaning (I'd say more frequently than healthcare standard!), plenty parking. Bonus that it's located in Windward Mall, which hosts twice weekly farmers market. Get your fresh fruits and veggies! And maybe a little treat ;-) read more

This review is based on membership. I have a health insurance membership at Ala Moana and wanted to transfer to Windward. The staff at Windward advised me to call Ala Moana to CANCEL membership, and originally signed up at the Ala Moana location. I have since moved to the Windward side and Ala Moana is no longer convenient for me. Now that Windward is open, I tried to go and re-sign a membership there but was told that I had to cancel my Ala Moana membership as for some reason these memberships are transferable between clubs. I called Ala Moana to cancel my membership and was told that the manager would transfer Membership to Windward which that was not the fact, Today I went down to Windward to try and get my membership only to be told that Ala Moana did cancel my membership but it's pending for another 8 days. Really? I called back Ala Moana and asked why my membership is cxld pending? Why is it difficult to process a membership and then I was told that the mgr of Windward would. All me AND NO ONE DID! We are so happy and grateful to have a Planet Fitness in Kaneohe! We have two children in high school and love the High School Summer pass program. Maintenance/Staff has gotten way better than my previous experience. Do notice new faces of employees, and I feel this staff seems to be much better than the previous ones. Employees are more professional. Idk her name but theirs this one employee who I just saw recently brings a positive vibe. Always welcoming and saying goodbye as you leave. Only thing that I would recommend is they need to be more organized and alert when you are waiting to use the massage bed, cryo, chair massage etc. If your waiting for one to open, you gotta make sure to remind the staff if its now available or else you'll be waiting for awhile and its been open. I do noticed staff tends to get overwhelmed when theirs a waiting listing to use the massage/cryos. I do wish they would move the hipthrust machine thats facing the window. Doing your hipthrust while the sun is beaming in your face can be a distraction. I dont mind the heat but the sun just beaming at your eyes makes it harder to focus read more

I recently moved from the mainland, bringing my membership with me. When the Kaneohe gym opened I was excited to go there. The first few months there were hiccups - staff not well trained, no chairs in the red light or tanning beds. Lots of people trying to sign up and get info while others trying to use facilities and not enough staff. I brought a problem with the tanning bed to the manager, who allowed me to use the other bed (had to ASK though). He asked me to let him know how it went. Afterwards I left the bed and went to the desk. Manager was on the phone with an employee (I could tell by the conversation). Did he put them on hold to take a second to get my feedback? No, he tried to hide behind a post. He definitely needs some customer service training. I stayed away in January due to the busyness of gyms in January. Went back to use the red light and tan. There was a wait and I wasn't notified when a bed was ready, I got passed over, then there was a 20 minute wait when I finished with the first bed. No one apologized. The girl who watched me sign up for the beds didn't think to mention to anyone that I was waiting and I got passed over. This one employee was kind of rude from the start but the other staff was really nice. On the mainland they have computer sign up for the black card lounge equipment. I was never passed over or forgotten and it was much more efficient. I really wish they had that here! Also, if you want people to clean up after themselves in the lounge area, you need a squirt bottle and paper towels in EVERY ROOM, not ONE squirt bottle in the middle of the lounge. A few extra bucks will ensure cleaner equipment for everyone. read more

This is a great gym but if you participate in the Oneselect or active fit they are not all knowledgeable about how to set you up. My husband and I signed up to check it out, when we decided to commit using the Oneselect they signed us both up by opening an entirely new account so both my husband and I had 2 memberships. We were paying for the original acct plus using the Oneselect insurance acct. All our logins and activity was going to the original sign in. The agent said the manager will call me the next day. I was with the other gym in Kaneohe for years and never had a problem. So yes I paid for 2 memberships for a month. read more

Nice gym, the front desk can be nice sometimes they usually don't really say anything, the lady can be a little rude sometimes and a little blunt which can be offensive to some people. read more

Its a nice new gym with lots of weights. Just an fyi, you are required to be very very quiet in the gym. Maybe more quiet than I thought with the no judgment free zone. The night manager James runs a strict gym. Some people may like it.. some may not . This gym is def for beginners and it was intended that way. read more
