The staff here is awesome. They try to keep the druggies out the best they can. They also keep the place clean. Im very impressed. Will definitely recommend to others. Keep up the good work ladies. The owner may want to invest in a security guard though...I watched something very unsafe unfold and one woman by herself is ill equipped to deal with this. I've been in several Planet Fitness locations, and this is one of the better ones. All the equipment I've ever tried to use have been clean and in good repair. The parking sucks, because the parking in the entirety of that lot is awful. The Black Spa is awesome. If you can swing an extra $15 a month, go for it. I'm amazed at how awesome the hydro-massage beds help after a workout. The men's locker room swings gross. Not to knock those less fortunate, I've often found that unhoused individuals use the locker room to take off weeks of grime. Sometimes the smell is so bad I can't go in. I haven't used the free training programs, but my wife loves the trainer and that gets this spot another star. read more

I have been with planet fitness for several years and today was such a great day there and had to write about it. My guest and I were greeted with smiles and helpfulness! I learned that they have free training classes and the gentlemen who seemed to be in charge (didnt get his name oof) was eager and willing to set us up! He partnered us with Matthew who was polite and answered all our questions with ease. I have to give kudos to the staff for this! This is a review of their business practice. Depending on what membership you sign up for, you're charge a yearly fee... ok. Their monthly membership prices are so cheap the yearly fee is no big deal... BUT WATCH OUT for the additional fee they charge you for cancelling your membership! I can't believe I didn't see that when I signed up or I probably would not have signed up. As the saying goes... Buyer Beware! This is totally BS business practice. The gym has what most people need to get the job done. Lots of new and upgraded equipment. The staff are kind and welcoming, although I doubt they are compensated well enough or have sufficient benefits, if any at all. Here's the kicker: your massage chairs are from WW2. Other Planet Fitness gyms have massage chairs that do massaging. These ones are coin-operated from the local fair and kinda feel more like you're being beat up by an older sibling. Other gyms have the ability to control the settings with a handheld device. Ok. Here's where context matters: the county fair ride massage chairs DO have 3 settings on a fixed console at the arm rest (like the old Pac-Man video games in the arcade). If you can determine what they are after years (decades) of wear on the buttons, and you do switch between settings, there is no measurable difference between the settings. It's all your older sibling punching you in the back, ribs, everywhere except muscles. You do not have the ability to focus on any area (other than the general, punch me, I'm stupid) setting. Last thing to note is these chairs are LOUD. There are probably some zerks or bearings in there that need to be greased or something. I think the shock absorbers are probably toast, too. This is a great gym so don't let the carnival ride chairs scare you off. If there's something being considered for upgrades my 2 planet fitness tokens are on the massage chairs! read more

Update to 10/2/24 review The 30 minute area is gone! It has been replaced with four benches, a row of dumbbells, barbells, and two racks of crossfit equipment. No mirror in the area (unless I missed it), so you'll probably want to practice your form in the other dumbbell area before using this area. They also added some Smith Machines (total of four now) and moved the pull-up/dip machine to another area. They also added new chest press, shoulder press, triceps press and other machines. Still only have two pec-decks, but that's fine, I can improvise in the new area with dumbbells and the bench if it's crowded. I like the update. The 30-minute area did look a bit underutilized, so it seems like a good use of space. read more

This is my gym home and I just have to give a shout out for how amazing place is so others know! 10/10 this location is absolutely being cleaned nonstop like while your working out type level just around you but it's level of clean is top notch! Not only is everyone that works out here so incredibly nice but I have to give a special shout out to the staff! They literally make experience even better! I should have heeded some of the other reviews I read about this business. I recently joined as a brand new member, gave my personal information, account information etc. Everything is going good until a couple of days ago, I walk in and use PF app on my phone to check in. There is a message saying something to the effect that my account is past due. I thought, how can be it past due when it's suppose to come out automatically. I asked the guy working there and he looks it up and says they couldn't receive a payment from the account listed. He showed me where to check it on the app. While looking at the app, I see now that I'm being charged $47 and change so I asked the guy about that. He said it's a late fee of $20 in addition to my monthly charge. I went home, checked my account information and sure enough I had missed a digit in the account number. Yup, I made a mistake. You would think that any business like Planet Fitness would notify me to say, "Hey, we know you're new but can you verify your account number as we can't charge you." I would have done exactly that and life would be good, but no, they charged me a late fee and then sent me a notice that there was an error on my bank account. Literally, that same afternoon after I fixed the error, they charged my credit card the full amount for the monthly service charge and the late fee. I sent them a note explaining what had happened and asked for the late fee to be voided along with a "please contact me." It's been two business days now and I have not heard a peep out them. This is not customer service, this is simple greed and spite as far as I'm concerned. I'll be looking around for someplace better. read more

It is a shame how maintenance of the bathrooms in this establishment is being neglected. For 2 months now, there has been no working showers in the men's bathroom. One just have to leave the gym sweaty after a workout! First, I'm already an active member at another gym, but I was thinking of adding the PF membership solely for the purpose of tanning. $22/a month for unlimited tanning? Why not? I called everyday for a week, trying to get someone on the phone to answer a few questions. No one picked up. Then, finally, today, at 3:45 pm, someone picks up and asked to put me on a brief hold. I said, "sure" thinking it would legit be a brief hold. After 15 MINUTES of being on hold, I hung up. That's more than just a little excessive and to me, shows terrible customer service. You would think that someone would CALL BACK. Caller ID? It's a real thing. Smh. I've heard both good and bad things about this gym, but if it's this bad to get in contact with someone, I can only imagine how much worse it would be if I was a member and actually needed something - like updating a card on file, or asking to speak to a manager about some equipment. 0 stars, if I could give it. Businesses are supposed to want to speak to potential customers, and this business just lost one. read more

Ehhh.. This is a newer planet fitness with a completely odd layout. I have been to other odd layouts before but this one definitely took the cake. The machines are super close together which makes you feel like you have no space, and the people at the front are kind of passive. Granted, I have only been to this location once, but if you look at my other reviews, I've gone to many Planet Fitness locations. I just didnt really enjoy the experience here or having a dudes crotch on a treadmill a few feet from my face as I was using the chest press machine. The machines are new, but didnt seem to be clean as you could see some white residue on the leather cover of the tricep and bicep machine which is usually from not being cleaned regularly. The last issue is that the parking lot is small and shared with a grocery store thats rather busy. So if you worry about stuff in your car, its kind of hard to be able to see your car out of the glass windows. I will probably come back here next time I am in town and will maybe update it depending on if its a better experience. But if I am not mistaken, its the only planet fitness in this area of Washington. read more

Bathrooms are constantly dirty, several machines are broken ( including one of the stair climber's that has been broken for over a year now). Staff isn't as friendly as they used to be a couple years ago, and the trainer is constantly hitting on the attractive women. I would be willing to bet $100 that if I walked in right now there would be at least one if not two paper towel dispensers that are out of paper towels. The front desk staff usually consists of two to three people standing there instead of cleaning the mess or replacing the utilities we need to clean the machines. I have been coming here for 3 years. Never really had any issues until COVID. But corporate and the higher ups need to get their stuff together with this COVID and mask situation. Why is it that PF thinks it's ok to ignore a mask exemption law put in place for those of us with autoimmune issues and asthma? You really think it's justifiable to over ride the state law saying exemptions are allowed? You're really going to tell me you will argue a doctor's say in something? How is it that PF can make its own laws and rules up over riding this? I'm not saying I don't mask up. I do. I have no problem doing so when I can... however, I should not be told with an exemption that I have to wear a mask that would do more harm to me when I'm exasperated. Westside location is alot better if you do join. Parking lot is also a joke, unless you want vehicle broke into or stolen. So I have a medical exemption to have my gym bag with me at all time incase in need my meds and the manager named Asia told me I can't have my bag on the floor even with my medical condition that requires me. She asked if I can put my meds in my pocket! I tied her no because it's fragile and it light break while I'm lifting. She persisted and had to br right and kept saying no. So long story short the manager didnt even know about HIPAA and had to winnthe agreement and now headquarters has been notified about this HIPAA violation and hopefully no one else has to go through this embarrassing situation. read more

This location seems clean and the staff was kind but the management need improvement. I was disappointed that their showers were closed (this is a big deal to travelers!) Then they have these signs up saying the closure is due to state health regulations around COVID.. but that's simple untrue. I can verify they several other PF locations in WA state have open and clean showers! Then after seeing that they're using this excuse to not offer showers to members I look around the club and see that 90% are unmasked.. Kinda felt like.. Wow, so no showers because of COVID but no one is required to mask up??? Seems fishy read more

PLANER FITNESS! I'm really going to miss you! This location has to be the best one and best gym i've been too. The staff is friendly, helpful, talented, and clean. They staff their gym well and all the interactions i've had with almost every worker has been great. I've been to 2/3 instructors PE@PF (physical education @ planet fitness). Danielle and Jason are awesome! Great quick classes and all very versatile with different kinds of exercises each time. My favorite part about the gym is the open floor plan. Everything is visible and out in the open. The stair master has to be one of the best ones i've used. I'm in the military and Nelson Gym on post only does 20 min rotations for a session. I don't know if it's to allow other service members to use the machines but here at PF, you can stair master for as long as you want! I've improved a great deal just by coming here on the weekends, now that i go everyday day in the morning, it's not only helping me feel good throughout the day but i also feel very happy, confident, and energetic thanks to the great start and the 24/7 schedule, yes they are open all day everyday (unless they post prior to that they will be closed ahead)!!! This gym has great amenities, to include (w/ black card membership): unlimited hydromassage, tanning beds, standing tanning, and red light therapy! it's amazing for women and men to get a great massage after a killer workout, a great tan in this depressing no sun environment, and a pretty awesome way to aid in fixing your skin! Only thing i don't like about the gym is how there are tootsie rolls everywhere! No candy, we should promote healthy snacks. Three staff members at counter when I walked in. Customer who was at the counter stepped away when she saw me. Your woman staff member was the only one who acknowledged me and she was the staff member furthest away from me. Other two male staff didn't stop their conversation. While I was booking a massage bed with her, one of the male staff stepped to his computer and promptly scheduled someone else ahead of me for the one remaining bed, blocking my reservation. My staff member attempted to get his attention and stop his reservation but was not successful. She told me it was now too late for my reservation because he had already booked his, overriding my request, he made to attempt to correct or apologize. Maintenance is severely lacking. Disabled persons shower hasn't worked since September. Locker door was broken and unusable since September. Leg press machine also broken for an exorbitant amount of time. When the locker door was finally fixed today the maintenance man put on the wrong door. The door is still without a lock and a number. The maintenance man looked on interested in his work while he was in the locker room working, instead he was playing on his laptop. The locker door does not match the locker next to it leaving it looking very unprofessional and half ass. The staff is super friendly and professional but the maintenance man is the opposite. I'm so glad to see that this Planet fitness is doing better. I came to this location awhile back and was completely turned off by the girl behind the counter. I came once again just to check it out in hopes things had changed and was delighted when I did. Rusty was behind the counter and what a difference my experience was within the first 5 seconds I came through the doors. Greeted with a warm smile in his eyes and eager to help his incoming guest. He knew what I needed after my long day of work in construction with his recommendation of the hydro bed while I waited to get my vitamin D on in one of the tanning beds. It is because of his excellent customer service that I came yet again today for a similar experience. Today I only did the hydro bed as I don't have my eye wear in my car and they were out of new ones, but I got to see Rusty who recognized me from last week and gave a smile and wave. He was leading a group exercise activity and I'm excited to return and be a part of one of his groups! The women I saw were enjoying themselves and you could hear their laughter. That's my ideal kind of workout group participation. Rusty deserves this shout out as he is definitely an added value to this team here at Planet Fitness in Lacey. I will be back for sure!
