This location is horrible. They have taken out a lot of the equipment and replaced them with more free weights. Equipment such as lap down; chest press; shoulder press are hard to use as there is only one of each & are being hogged by people in their cell phones. Forget having a shower in the women's change room as there is no hot water, missing shower curtains and filthy. This is not the first time I've been here and there was no hot water in the the women's change room. We used to come here all the time when we were staying in the area. To Management, I would like to make a complaint regarding one of the employees, specifically the employee who often works the counter and wears a durag. On multiple occasions, I have noticed that when groups of pretty girls pass by, the employee greets them, waves, and wishes them a good night. However, when I pass by, I am consistently ignored and not given the same courtesy. This has happened repeatedly, not just once. While this may seem like a small issue, being repeatedly overlooked has made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable as a customer. I believe all customers should be treated with the same level of courtesy and respect, regardless of who they are. I am not trying to get anyone in trouble, but I wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that all customers can receive equal and friendly treatment in the future. Just wanted to share my opinion on the online Recommendation review that is emailed to members about the planet fitness facility in Lancaster, California that I submitted. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this gym due to the noticeable decline in overall standards and facility upkeep. Over time, the cleanliness and maintenance of the gym have significantly deteriorated, which raises concerns about management oversight and staff accountability. During the afternoon and evening hours--when many working adults are able to attend--the gym is often overcrowded with large groups of teenagers who tend to occupy equipment for extended periods while socializing or using their phones. Backpacks and personal belongings are frequently left scattered throughout workout areas, creating both safety and accessibility concerns. Many members pay for a gym environment that supports efficient workouts and respect for shared equipment, especially those with limited time to focus on their fitness goals after work. In addition, the condition of the locker rooms, showers, and restrooms has become increasingly unsanitary. There also appears to be little enforcement of facility policies regarding member or transient use of these areas, which has contributed to cleanliness and hygiene issues that negatively impact paying members. I also visit several other gym facilities regularly, and none of them are maintained in conditions comparable to what I have experienced at this location. The difference in cleanliness, organization, and overall member experience is very noticeable. At this point, I genuinely do not understand what members are paying for anymore, as the quality of the facility and overall experience no longer reflect the cost of membership or the standards that should be expected from a professional fitness center. Facility was mostly clean, except for the locker room. Most people didn't seem to change at the gym or shower, except a few people who appeared to be homeless. I also witnessed a man who had been working out go in to a shower fuller dressed and smoke something. Not sure if it was a vape or a crack pipe, all I saw was the cloud of smoke come over the top of the shower curtain. Staff were friendly but when I signed up no one offered a tour or explained the VIP perks like the tanning and hydromassage. I just needed a cheap gym for a couple weeks while I was in town, and it filled the need. read more

Good - generally clean, staff is welcoming. Bad - machines are frequently broken and dont get repaied for weeks (no kidding!). I have made several requests to fix them but I am told "its been reported". Its a franchise with all the same equipment and the same wear areas break down. This gym is a poorly managed dumpster fire. Avoid at all cost. I'll explain. Let's start with the gym music pumped at a night club level. Everyone wears headphones these days, so why is this gym pushing their music hard on the customers? Secondly, they installed 5 new TV's on the front wall. Why is this bad? Because they were installed over 3 months ago and ZERO work! This would have taken like up to a week to do properly, and 3 months plus later nothing. Poorly managed. Hers a small one for you.... The time change was weeks ago, and one of their clocks is still off by an hour. Why is one of the clocks changed and the other isn't? This is literally something that takes 30 seconds to complete. Poorly managed. If you're bar for a gym Is set low, then this place is for you. Expect a poorly managed gym. read more

This is the second time joining this gym. I cancelled my membership during covid and recently signed up for the $15 deal. There was an initial membership fee plus monthly charge. Yet, all of a sudden I was charged $25. I called the front desk no one knows what's going on. I called the corporate number I'm being charged late when it's connected to my credit card. I called the front desk again asked for late charges to be reversed/ refunded because they have my billing information on file. The man was rude and refused. I asked to cancel membership had to go in. So I went in asked to cancel membership advised I have insufficient funds. I was done with trying to get proper service. Out of rudeness they mentioned the account that had no funds. Years ago I signed up with my spouse who closed that account. Recently I signed up with my own personal banking account for initial fee and my credit card for monthly billing yet apparently the system somehow try to take from an account that didn't exist that wasn't my name but my spouse name then magically use the accurate account information and charged a late fee. I ended my membership within the 30 days allocated for them to charge me an additional annual membership fee plus late charge and monthly fee. Called corp again and was told it was not cancelled within the 30 days. Shady money practices. Plus I forgot they no longer wanted my credit card but my personal banking information because it works better. The ghetto's gym. Unprofessional staff and even more unprofessional corporation. Had my key stolen from my locker. Someone bolt cut my PF lock and stole my key. And all they can say is we can't show you the Video. Corporate policy. So in short you can't keep your belongings safe in there locker rooms and they don't want to allow bags on the floor but they don't want to assume any responsibility if your items get stolen from there locker room. I would like to give this place 5 stars because the PF was created in my hometown in New Hampshire. I started going to PF in 2005 when I was in high school.... This long time customer is sad to say I'm canceling my membership. I went back home to NH recently and worked out at the original PF in Dover NH and boy what a difference.... The way this planet fitness is operated is borderline deplorable. It starts when you walk in. There's usually a group of idk (5?) Employees huddled around in a circle behind the check in desk, all of them with their backs turned to you. They'll turn around quickly to check the screen to make sure you're a member, before going back to their condos. You get to the locker room. It's usually filthy. I know this because I did leg day 2 weeks ago, and a multivitamin fell out of my hand, and I was too sore to pick it up, plus I wanted to see if it'd be there the next day, and unfortunately, it's still there on the floor at the bottom of the lockers. So. That's pretty gross... (on to the workout, and the only reason I'll give 2 stars). The gym itself is kept clean. The machines are hardly overly occupied, and the gym flow feels good. Smiling faces usually. Everyone working hard. Couple strange characters that are there to just people watch while they fake workout but... Other than that. It's nice... Back to the lock room post workout. Typically greated by an employee just chilled on his phone on one of the benches. I personally have to shower at the gym because I have work right after. The only shower that operates normally is the handicap stall. The other 3(?) are ridiculous, and have been for the last year I've been going. All of them need new plumbing. The faceplates behind the shower handles are either fully detached, or not screwed in all the way. The shower heads spit out a slow trickle of water until you get to the hottest setting when they operate at around 70% pressure, but by then the water is unusable hot, and the curtains have mold at the bottom.... It's sad because I've met the original owners of the first location the Grondahl brothers. And I wish I could show them what was goin on. Cause they'd probably be wicked upset honestly.... And I know I may sound like a complainer, and this comment will probably go unread, and or not make any difference anywhere but. I figured I'd share the reason why I won't be going back. I understand it's the cheapest gym around but. Yous guys gotta do something about the showers. And also the occasional homeless dude charging his phone in the locker room for over an hour. Bless their soul but. Changing infront of them is an uncomfortable vibe. The reason for the poor 1 star, is that most commercial gyms that I've been to do not allow people to be trained by outside trainers From 4:15-6am when I'm at the gym there's the same man dressed to impress matching shoes to his attire training 4-6 clients on the cable machines and leg machines (he is clearly not a planet fitness employee who is training clients for money) The gym is already small and when you have all his clients super setting and doing circuits for over an hour it's inconvenient for everyone trying to workout on the cable machines. Do I have to start paying him? So I can workout and touch the cable machines? Today I went twice to grab a cable machine that wasn't being used, but there super set workouts have them using 2 cable machines in intervals, when I finally just took the cable machine there clients all got angry and starting calling me names. I didn't know that they had bought the machines? Or is it that since they pay this trainer they feel entitled to all the equipment he presents to them? I emailed management, they either don't care to enforce policy of personal training at this facility or they don't check their email He is also there in the evening, guy lives there at the gym, I get it he needs to hustle, but if he was successful he should have a home gym and train his clients at his house or be like every successful trainer and open up his own gym Training 1 client at a time, sure it is what it is, but 6 people average at the same time! That just ridiculous and an inconvenience to anyone who doesn't pay him money to workout. read more

It's been my observation that a manager/Supervisor by the name of MIRANDA has been leading her awesome staff in making this gym a pleasant place to catch a great workout vibe. Machines don't seem to stay out of order for to long, water filter seems to work fine, always find towels to clean machine, bathrooms are decent etc.. A women's touch can make a significant difference in any environment such as it has here at planet fitness. I normally don't take the time to review places, but with my recent experience with this location, I felt the need too. I have had multiple issues with billing for this location. I originally started in the Palmdale location and they were great. Saturday I went in to cancel my contract as I am moving away and won't be using Planet Fitness anymore. There was no staff available to speak with, I was waiting for 15+ minutes and ended up calling the Palmdale location to ask for assistance. I was told I could cancel online and so I did. When I was online and canceling my membership, it said I owned $0.00 since I was cancelling before my payment date, that made sense to me. I later checked my bank account and was charged my monthly fee. I spoke with someone that day and a manager who both informed me that cancellations must be made before the 10th in order not to be charged. Then, I was charged again on the 17th, I spoke with the manager, who did refund me the 2nd charge. I am obviously cancelling and not going back, but I have been double charged a few times at this location previously and I am very upset since their cancellation policy is not very clear. The Palmdale location is nicer and the staff have been more helpful, so I recommend making the drive there. read more

Great clean mainstream gym. What I appreciate about most PF locations that I've been to are they are clean. This PF is no different. Staff along with patrons keep this gym in immaculate condition. There are cleaning stations (spray and paper towels) situated throughout the gym. Also standard is the PF branding on equipment and somewhat gimmicky things such as the "Lunk Alarm" which when I was new to PF found fun to look at. Onto more specifics... During my visit it was relatively busy. Parking in the lot out front was easy as this gym practically has its own lot. There was a great amount of cardio equipment but only 4 stepmills. A ridiculous (in a good way) amount of televisions lined the front of the cardio area. The free weight area was decently sized but I did not see a bench press anywhere. The standard areas such as 360, stretching, black card member area, locker rooms, and 30 minute zone were all well marked. Everything appeared to be well maintained and in good working order. The women locker room was a tad small but had showers and dressing stalls. The fixed benches in the dressing stalls were nice. This was my first time seeing benches in the stalls at PF. Counter space in the locker area was limited. Music level was good. Best of all, staff was super friendly and seemed to be in constant motion either greeting people, cleaning, etc. A few more pieces of equipment would've boosted this gym to a 5 for me. I would give this zero stars if I could. This is absolutely positively without a single doubt in my mind the worst gym I've ever been to in my entire life. I have worked for several gyms: LA fitness, 24 hour fitness, In- shape, Equinox, Lifetime Athletic, Anytime and a couple of small town ones where I'm from. I have never seen a gym so crowded in my life...I have never seen such poor gym ethics. Individuals will come in here and take up each piece of equipment for 30 minutes or more at a time, not allowing others to work in which makes this one of the busiest gyms I've ever been in. They don't have any dedicated squat, rack, machines. Just Smith machines, and only four of them. People wait in line to use these machines and the line wait can be 30 to 45 minutes or more. The dumbbells stop at 75 lbs which isn't enough if you're a serious lifter. This might be an adequate gym for the average Joe or average Jane but not for someone passionate about weight lifting and someone who understands that too much time in between exercises is counterproductive to proper growth and progress. I actually hate this place. I wish I could come at a better time when it's dead but my schedule doesn't permit that while also allowing proper rest. I'm trying hard to find another gym but even in-shape and Crunch have bad reviews in this town and I don't expect they'll be a lot better. I might be desperate enough to find out. read more

I moved out to Lancaster a couple of months ago, I went to a planet fitness where I lived , I was happy that there is one not to I far from where I live . This gym is very clean and all the staff are awesome, they are friendly, they greet you and say bye to you , if an issue occurs they listen to you .im so glad I found this gym . Please keep up the good job , the members are friendly as you keep on going they recognize you and say hello ,they are also good about sharing the equipment ( there are a couple who are not friendly and seems to have attitudes but this world is not perfect lol ) I will definitely be staying here read more

Went to the gym this morning around 11:00 am and there was a girl with a nice body , She went to the front desk to talk to the employees as I was walking out, The employees were staring her down as she walked away , They looked like wolves hungry for meat , they were all staring and saying things between each other and laughing , I found it so disrespectful, I mean if they enjoyed her body , look admire with respect like others were doing there . Lots of people leaving posts that read more like excuses to NOT go to the gym. If it's cold wear a sweater. If it's loud use headphones. No one wants to sweat like a pig and no one wants to hear all the grunting while lifting weights. Thats why the music is loud and the AC blasts like an arctic storm. I've been going here since mid-pandemic and the standard of cleanliness has always been really high, especially at this location in comparison to the Palmdale one. Staff has always been friendly, rarely have I run into broken machines, the crowd meter on the app has always been pretty accurate, massage chairs for black card members are always clean. I always see at least one team member cleaning up something while I'm there. Exceeds my expectations for Lancaster, so I think this place deserves 4-5 stars for that alone. Only few negative things I want to note: - There's a sharp odor when you walk into the gym (smells like a bathroom). If there were a better way to ventilate this location, I think we'd all be pretty content. - The kit here is EXTREMELY basic. No squat racks, etc. only smith machines and they're always taken up when it's peak hours. HOWEVER I used to go to crunch and their machines were broken all the time so had to switch my workout plans to fit the kit at this location instead. You're also going to have to work around the crowds here, which leads me to my next comment: - Read another comment on here that said it's become a "teenager hangout spot", they're kinda right - but also who cares? I just wish there were more signs posted that say people can only have 1-2 sets of free weights at a time. Some people will literally take 5+ SETS of all different weights and not use them for 25 - 30 mins while I gotta wait for them to finish. I think staff should do more floor walks around the gym when it's really busy to check if people are using a crazy amount of weights. I have a confrontation issue, can you tell? Lol - They'll charge the annual fee to your card twice if you want to switch memberships from basic to black in the same year, so make sure you have your mind set on what you want before you commit. read more

Because I was being helped with several things, I stayed at the counter for a bit longer than usual and I was able to see how friendly the staff were towards all other gym members. Honestly, planet fitness as a whole has always been a great experience. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the patrons are as well. No, they don't have EVERYTHING. But they have enough variations to where you can get a full body workout with what they have available. If you are an amateur to moderate fitness person, this gym should work for you. Obviously it's crowded more at some times than others. That's not a gym thing, that's life. I usually go 6am-7am or after 8pm and never have a problem doing what I need. If they had a basketball court they'd be perfect, but for the A.V. This gym is almost flawless, and worth the membership. This gym has literally turned into a teenager hang out spot. A lot of us adults go after a day of working to set the mind and body. Nothing worse than trying to work out and tons of adults waiting to use equipment while teenagers in packs are taking over, talking instead of utilizing equipment, but yet taking it over. I'm all for teenagers caring about their health, but this isn't the place to hang out and take selfies. Either use the equipment effectively and timely or they should just leave. read more

It's a great beginners gym and membership price ain't bad compared to other gyms. The atmosphere is very friendly compared to other gyms as well. Also like how on the app you can see how busy it is currently as well as certain days it'll show how busy it'll be. The only downsides are there are not enough weights but plenty of machines for cardio. Also its pretty small so it can get packed easily needing you to sometimes check on the app to make sure its not to busy. It's a great gym for when you first start working out. Maybe better to move to a bigger gym with more weights and machines after. read more

It is Lancaster, California... ...so. Since I graduated high school, I have been attending a gym in some form. I'm not so sure the pandemic ever really ended, but since we decided we were done with it, I wasn't very confident in returning to a gym. But after a stint at rehab (also reviewed), I was encouraged to give myself the care I am worthy of, which involves rigorously challenging this shell that has my soul captured. My first instinct was to return to 24 Hour Fitness because I had heard nothing but negative things about Planet Fitness. Then... I recalled my last experiences at 24 Hour Fitness (also reviewed), and I recall the place being filthy... likely the place I got Covid. So, I walked into Planet Fitness and asked for a tour. The staff was friendly and allowed me to walk around the place. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the gym floor was. By some act of divine intervention, blackmail, or incentive program... customers of Planet Fitness actually clean up after themselves, rerack weights in the proper place, and wipe down machines! Granted... there is no pool or basketball court, which I am addicted to still. I still decided to enroll with Planet Fitness. Written... what feels like everywhere is "No Judgement", which is like asking someone to not think of an elephant. Based on the "no judgment" slogans and similar branding and marketing, it seems as if Planet Fitness is a Curves gym that allows men. Women walk around wearing extremely revealing clothing, workout bras, and very short shorts... but men are prohibited from wearing workout tank tops... ...we live in a time and place where misogyny is widely used to describe any human being comfortable in their masculine, and the average person cannot define misandry. But, I digress. Planet Fitness is located in a large plaza shared with a Super Walmart, so there is plenty of parking and trash outside. The price for membership is a bargain. The equipment is adequate to achieve most people's fitness goals, and the staff is supportive, but unlike 24 Hour Fitness, customers are not preyed on by personal trainers or forced to compete with trainers for equipment and space. Like I said, before, if you require the signature to join your new memberships would be down. I came into the facility today to sign up for a membership The promo advertising free initiation fee I guess I'm just messed that sign up so I signed on as a guest the young lady that helped me was so sweet and nice she helped me and told me about the facility then I came across katherine she seem as a manager but not sure she was cleaning off the area in the front I asked her a question and she was so rude and snappy her customer service skills was not appreciate it I was trying to be show some of the equipment in the black card area and she refused she really needs to work on her customer service skills dealing with customers and her customer service she never once stopped cleaning to even help me out she was just very rude. read more

I've been attending this location for about 2 months and the following is what I've gathered . Pros : I have to hand it to them they keep the place pretty clean . They do take the time to go over the contract + fees clearly . Facility is well equip with most workout equipment . Cons : They are super relaxed on the so called rules . They have signs about a dress code but people still walk around in blue jeans . A man once got next me on the treadmill and had a 10 minute conversation on his phone . After informing the staff at the front desk they seemed to care and nothing was done or said . The other thing bothersome is some people dont wipe down machines or equipment once finished :( No scales either lol . I asked the front desk and she stated its apart of the no judgment policy . How does this make sense it's not like your weight will be displayed in front of everyone ... It's important for people to set and hit goals and is a tool of encouragement not embarrassment.
