I come to this Planet Fitness location 5-6 days a week, so I feel like I have a pretty good sense of how things run here -- and overall it's a great gym. One of the best things about this location is the late afternoon staff. They're always really friendly and make an effort to get to know the regulars. There are quite a few of us who work out there around the same time every day, and it's cool that they actually know our names and recognize our routines. It makes the environment feel a lot more welcoming. I've also seen some reviews mentioning a smell, but that honestly hasn't been my experience at all. The staff is constantly cleaning, and I regularly see them wiping down equipment and maintaining the gym. Everything always smells perfectly normal and clean when I'm there. Another big plus -- we just got a bunch of brand-new equipment about a week ago. It's been really fun trying out the new machines and being able to mix up my workouts a bit. The only thing I'd change isn't really specific to this location, but more of a Planet Fitness policy overall. I really wish they would add InBody scanners or at least a scale for members who want to use one. Their whole "no judgment" philosophy sometimes gets in the way of things that members actually ask for. For example, I'm currently paying an additional $30 a month for a membership at another gym just so I can access an InBody scanner, which feels unnecessary when Planet Fitness could easily provide something like that. I've also heard other members ask about it. That said, this location itself is great. The staff is friendly, the gym is clean, the equipment is new, and it's a place I'm happy to keep coming back to almost every day. read more

I've been coming to this gym for about a year and I wanted to rave about the early morning crew. When I first started coming I was greeted each morning by Jordyn, she always greeted me by name and made me feel so welcome. Now that she's on maternity, Sam has been the early morning greeter. Sam is just as warm, he greets me by name and wishes me good day as I leave. This morning Sam went the extra mile and even wished me a Happy Birthday! Wow! What a surprise! Sam, you made my day, Thank you. Lately, when I come in, the gym seems well maintained. I agree that it had a messy feeling in the past but it has definitely been improving. I noticed that Sam usually keeps himself busy by cleaning between greeting guests. Other team members are not as conscientious and seem to think the front desk is a social club for coworkers. So I can only imagine how horrible the gym must be later during the day. I've been happy here. There's lots of parking. There's a bunch of regulars that come in early too. Most people are in their zone and don't bother each other besides a friendly hello. But also, everyone is so willing to help. It's a fantastic way to start the day. read more

I moved back in October, and this PF is the closest to my new house! It's conveniently located in a block of other stores and restaurants, so there's a ton of parking close to the entrance. I'm one of those people who likes to get in, do my workout, and leave. I keep my headphones in and don't really like to make small talk. I mean that in the nicest way possible - but I'm there to do what I gotta do, and get out! Everyone here is kind and rather respectful of their time on machines. I've always been lucky enough to go when it's not very busy, so my experiences are always enjoyable. Everything is always clean and everybody cleans up after themselves. Locker rooms are always well-kept too. All in all, I really can't complain. Glad this is my new location! read more

I'm going to cancel my membership if the management and corporate don't reach out to me in a timely manner. I was there at 5am this morning and left at 6:15am because no one showed up to open the gym. This has happened several times at this location and even the Pearl St. location in Tacoma. As far as I know it's almost 7am and it's still not open. I had to drive from Frederickson just to sit there for an hour and then drive back home wasting time and gas. This also affected my schedule for the day, there's a reason I was there at 5am, it was the only time I could workout today. I expect a call from management and for corporate to reach out as well. This is not acceptable. Again, I will cancel if this isn't resolved and I'm not compensated for this inconvenience. *** Update. 8:10am Same day. I emailed social@planetfitness.com and waiting to hear back. I called and it appears to be open now. The opening associate is now there and was very late and they were the one taking down my information to give to the manager that will be there tomorrow. Now the only reason I am aware of the cancellation is because SHELBY went above and beyond to get me the information I needed. If you have a complaint also call Planet Fitness customer service 1-844-880-7180 and write a review. The manager at this location is rude and incompetent with dealing with issues. Super rude staff. They lie and back each other up. They seem to have total comtempt for patrons every time you come in. Which is puzzling until you engage Shelby, the manager. Shelby is not a leader. She avoids calls or issues from customers. She seems to have come in late and left early every time you try to reach her. Does she work 2 hours a day? Shelby seems to have utter contempt for customers. Shelby's whole attitude was dismissive. She tried to talk over me, wrongly reinterpreted my experience that she did not witness, was antoganistic, argumentative, belittles your legit experience, is accusatory, blaming, defensive, condescending, unapologetic, and also invalidates your experience. She acted like I was lying or misunderstood what I experienced. She was utterly offensive and her attitude explains why staff at this location are so rude. Planet Fitness Puyallup, you need to hire a leader at this location who respects customers, the upkeep of the gym, who can lead, and who doesn't seem to hate your customers. I love this place but starting today that don't have paper towels to clean off equipment . They have hand towels two at each station so it's gross and it's not cleaning if you use them over and over.So if your not going to sanitize properly how about not at all or just spray cleaner and no wipe.And I don't want to pick up a towel that's got who know what on it. read more

Well, walked into the gym this morning to a pretty rude front desk man who informed me my "card on file" had expired. I told him my membership was set up under a bank account and that my payments were current and that my next due date wasn't until May 17th. He went on to inform me that the company was under new ownership and that a valid credit or debit card was required to be on file. I was at a loss. I don't use credit cards or debit cards and my account was working fine. The card in question had expired almost a year ago . . . He proceeded to tell me that without a valid card on file, access to the club would be denied. I have paid for the membership through the 17th of May, my account is in good standing, there is an auto draw in place, AND that account information is correct and had been working for the last 11 months. My advice, dump this woke gym and find ANY PLACE else to workout! I'm done with them, I canceled my membership, and am off to a gym that understands that you don't hassle paying customers over an account that's always been paid on time. read more

I usually have no issues with this location until tonight, which is Tuesday, August 13, 2024. This location on the weekdays is supposed to close at 10 PM it was closed at 9:38 PM when I walked up to open the door. That's a waste of my time to drive over here if they're doing that to make sure they get off work on time that's not my problem! If they don't like that part of this job they should get a different job. I'm probably going to cancel my membership and join the UFC FIT GYM. they're 24 hours and look pretty squared away to me, not like Planet Fitness, at least this location ! It's a globo-gym. They have free weights and machines as well as a circuit and stretching/TRX areas. If something breaks, their maintenance team fixes it as soon as possible. It's always clean and staff is friendly. The only downside is inconsiderate gym-goers sitting on equipment not using it or leaving their stuff on multiple machines to reserve it when it's busy. read more

Torn covers on the curl and oblique machine are disgusting. Very unsanitary. Sweat, blood, or other bodily fluids can get on the exposed fabric. No way to clean it. Informed staff on multiple occasions. Completely disregarded me. Tonight I get on the exercise bike first one in the row from left to right as you are standing behind them. Whole handlebar assembly is loose. Don't want to bring it to the employees attention, because I've been dismissed before. Cancelled my membership with PF after being a member for seven or eight years, specifically because of how they've cut the operating hours. I joined Planet Fitness specifically because they were open 24 hours. Seems like eventually they'll only be open 9-5. My other pet peave's with this gym are, this gym wont put out the grape chews you get at the other locations, and Ive seen them replace the cardio equipment twice, but they act like getting a set of 22.5 dumbells is impossible (they have them at other PF). I came in to cancel my membership after realizing they were 24 hours and they're charging me for another month because I didn't come in yesterday to cancel... outrageous, especially considering I was only able to come in once because I can only work out after my son goes down.... I haven't even had a membership with them a month and they're trying to charge me for two. Wtf planet fitness I had tried calling on the 10th to cancel my membership, but they said I had to come in ... I was in the hospital with my son and completely unable to come in, specially, since we were in Tennessee until the 11th. I came in on the 11th and they said they could do nothing for me. No understanding just business. Now I'm spending $100 on a membership I only was able to use for a couple days because they are no longer 24 hours and I wasn't in state till after the 10th. I have now recommended fitness quest to all of my friends and all of my contacts will not be getting memberships with you. Thank you very much. Planet fitness is really dropped the ball since Covid. I've already gotten two people to cancel their memberships with Planet Fitness and moved to Fitness quest. This gym with all its potential falls short. They failed to tell any of the rules with the black card membership. These things are important to extremely busy people.The staff could care less about you, I literally had to ask for a tour of the gym and the features and they failed to tell me simple things on the tour. They also don't have free bench presses as they don't want people "throwing weights around". I'm really sad that this is so close to home and it's this poor of an experience with the staff. I love this gym, I've been coming here for a few years off and on and they've always been really clean. But after covid, they are even more clean and organized. There is always someone walking around wiping down machines and they have everything spaced out well. The staff is super sweet too. I've been a member since this gym opened and it used to be a good place to work out for the price. Over time, the staff has changed. The "club manager" is extremely unprofessional. She's rude to "certain" gym members. I watched this woman argue with a member for 10 minutes about whether he used a massage bed. She basically accused him of lying. Like damn he told you 50 time s he didn't use it. She said to him over and over " You used the massage bed already and that's why your time is up" He kept saying no ma'am I didn't. Finally she allowed him to use the massage. This woman obviously has no people skills or experience managing a gym. It's unfortunate that the owner of the franchise is unaware that his paying customers are being treated poorly by his club manager LeeAnn. read more

The staff at this Planet Fitness is hands down the best gym staff at any gym I've ever been too! George the AM is the absolute best! He was patient and kind, and extremely informative. George always remembers my name and greets me by name with a smile on his face. Leanna (I hope I'm spelling that right) is also fantastic! She took the time while cleaning machines to show me proper form for the AB cruncher when she saw me struggling. A gym is a gym, but the staff are informative, friendly and always engaging with a smile. In addition to the friendliness, the staff puts in some hard work, I constantly see them cleaning machines, cleaning the locker rooms and bathroom, hanging decorations and keeping the gym clean, tidy and organized. As for the gym, it's kept clean, the machines are in great working order, the gym doesn't have unpleasant odors, and the staff kindly and respectfully enforces the gym policies for the enjoyment of all the gym members. So I've been a member for a couple of weeks, and have visited this location 6-7 times and I feel like I can give a good representation on it's services. I appreciate that there is no contract and that you can cancel anytime, that appeals to people who want to try out a gym and not be stuck due to signing contracts. The location is Convenient for me and there is a ton of parking, I like that they have added a couple of super power halogen lights that really lights up the area. When you enter the building you see a good assortment of weight machines, some free weights and a ton of cardio machines. The weight machines I think might be a challenge to use because they are always full. The cardio machines are plentiful and there are always many open when I tend to go (8:45-10:30pm). I love the TVs and how the machines have plug ins for headphones so you can watch and walk. I also like how they have USB so you can charge your devices, that is a nice touch. The 'free' wifi is a joke, can't get any streaming music stations or anything and i go during off peak hours. I like the 'message' the facility sends, no crazy max weights and power lifting, I think it intimidates many casual folks. They are pretty good about enforcing their rules. Overall I think this is a good place to exercise, I like the nice touches such as the free tshirt when you sign up and the bagel mornings read more

Just wanted to let you know that there is no monitoring of the 30 minute work out area. It really throws those that follow the rules, off. Very frustrating to say the least. You get a lot of people that just jump on the machines in no particular order. They plant themselves on machines and do not move. And, most times do not wipe off the machines. There are signs regarding the gyms rule as is there one that states that everyone needs to wear a mask while working out. None of these rules are followed. I am trying to be healthy but this makes it very difficult. At this location there are rules but no one follows them. read more

It's all fun and games until you want to quit membership. I had moved out of state (3000 miles away) and they told me I had to come in. When I explained I couldn't they gave me the ridiculous task of mailing a certified letter an obvious ploy to make it so difficult to quit that you won't. I love this gym. The front desk staff is amazing. All of them are extremely kind and helpful every time I come in.

Overall it's a clean location and this place has a lot of equipment as this was my first time coming here. I didn't feel welcomed though. Upon scanning my membership card, the young man at the desk just looked up without any greetings. As I was walking out, there were two at that time and both greeted other guests coming in and acknowledged the two other people a head of me that were leaving. But they didn't seem to care about me when I was leaving. I've been to many planet fitness locations and people at the desk greeted everyone in and out those doors. First time joining back to the gym in a long time, this gym is so clean and employees there are super nice and helpful, answered all my questions and showed me exercise machines around the gym. It's a big gym that has mostly every equipment just no pool but that's ok. This gym is a must go.... and monthly membership is very reasonable. George, Michael, Elijah, Ashley and Allie make coming to the gym a pleasure! Whenever I need anything, they are right there to help (which is usually an hour in the massage bed, after my workout). Been a member at so many Gyms and each one is great for different reasons. But this is by far the best Gym ive ever been to. 1) the hours... its 24 hours and as a bartender its so important to find a gym thats open late 2) the price, 10 dollars to use the gym and 20 if you want the massage beds and tanning (so worth it, im so relaxed after my workouts 3) The customer service is the best, Momo works the night shift 11 to 6am and is so caring and funny and genuinely cares about everyone. She works 2 jobs but always comes to work with a smile on her face and happy to help and answer any questions. She is always cleaning on her down time making sure the gym is extra perfect. Everyone that worksout here is polite and i never feel uncomfterable. I look forward to my workouts ! read more

If I could give less then one star I would but alas! I can't. The customer service and the employees here are an effing JOKE! My fiancé was going in to cancel his membership because we use the gym at home so obviously it's cheaper. Anywho, we were literally going in today when he checked his bank statement and they pulled out a effing annual membership fee of $42 dollars?! WTF? Why would you charger a freaking ANNUAL fee if you literally pay a MONTHLY fee?!?! This is RIDICULOUS! When we went inside the B$&@/ working was very rude and barely even acknowledged the fact that my fiancé didn't know about the fee. She was like, "It's in the contract when you sign." She then in a snooty way grabbed a laminated paper that is apart of a contract with highlighted sentences that tells you about the annual fee... clearly this happens ALOT if they have an effing laminated paper of this! And then the lady said that IF he had read the contract he would have seen that. EXCUSE ME BITCH???? Did you for real just say that to my fiancé??? That's NOT ok. Then she said that they don't even go over the contract with people anymore so literally NOBODY TOLD HIM about this dumb fee! And then she had the balls to say that if he had come in before the 25th it would've been fine but because it's passed we were too late. WTH? I then asked why they don't send out like reminders or something like that for people who just don't know when that time is for the fee and she (and I quote) "we have over 10 million customers and not a single email gets sent out." Ummmmmmm bitch? Ok? Effing AMAZON has millions and millions of customers as well and they SEND OUT emails and reminders about payments! So screw you power wanting employee at the effing Planet Fitness on River Road. The friendly staff and Mon - Fri cleanliness is overshadowed by the gross, disgusting conditions of the bathrooms on the weekend. Every weekend the identical clumps of hair in the drain on Friday will still be there on Sunday afternoon. All while multiple staff members stand behind the counter with "nothing to do". Unless you're fond of bathroom filth you should find another gym to join. read more

I love my gym. They are always friendly, they greet me by name, and they always say "goodbye" when I'm leaving. They are constantly cleaning, and they are so helpful when it comes to asking questions about the machines and their classes. Sure, they don't have zumba or big classes that you can just show up to, you have to sign up for classes if you want to go to them, but you are paying $10-$20 a month, you can't expect to have the kind of classes that you get at a gym where you pay $50 a month or more. I love the staff here, sometimes there are new people who aren't as excited to be there, but the longer they are there, the more I see them improve. And I know everyone has a bad day now and again, but you shouldn't judge the gym or the entire staff based on one experience. We are all human and we all have bad days. I have had my membership for 3 years and have no plans to give it up or go anywhere else. I'm glad they are here. read more

Don't! They say they have a no commitment, month to month payment policy. They are lying to people. I am away from home due to a long family illness. I wanted to cancel my membership since I am not going to be able to use it. Well, I find that I have to present multiple personal documents in person! They say I can send these documents by certified mail. I am on a very limited fixed budget. Given their resistance on canceling this membership over the phone, how do I know that the certified mail will end my monthly commitment to them. No commitment? Ha. read more
