I called Sean before I showed up and he said there was no wait time. Perfect. I pulled right into the garage and was kindly greeted by Sean who said to keep the car running so he could get right to work. Sean is a really nice guy. Very courteous and professional. He showed me to a chair to sit down as I filled out the paper work while he did the smog check. He also gave me a cold bottle of water. I had a coupon from his website that I showed him for $10 off and he applied it to the service. The service was really quick. I think it took all of about 10 minutes. He turned the car around so I didn't have to back out. He answered all of my questions. He explained to me that the DMV would get the *PASSED SMOG* info and I would see my registration is a few weeks. And, as I was getting into my car to leave, he offered me a squirt of hand sanitizer and then stood in the street to clear the road for me to drive off. Top notch service. I'll be back in 2 years. I absolutely love going to Planet Smog when I get that dreaded notice. No one's favorite chore, but when you show up and see Shawn there smiling and guiding you into his space it's suddenly not as awful. Not only is his pricing very fair and consistent, his process is so lovely and unexpected for a smog shop. He'll seat you in his tiny lounge space that was thoughtfully prepared. You'll receive a cold bottle of water and today I even scored some fruit snacks. ;) It has never taken more than 5-10 minutes and as you prepare to back out he'll give you a shot of sanitizer for your hands and stop traffic while guiding you back out onto the road. The owner of Planet Smog is great. I brought my first vehicle to be smogged for DMV registration and it was done in 10 minutes, with great service. A few weeks later, I brought in a second vehicle for the same thing. This 2nd vehicle was a 30 year old Jeep. During the test a small brittle plastic cooling system valve broke off (no fault of Planet Smog), dumping radiator fluid and stopping everything. I wasn't even sure how to get it home. Instead, he quickly looked up and found a replacement part, had it quickly delivered, and installed it. Then he finished the test and it passed 1st time go. I never thought the highlight of my day would be getting my car smog checked but Ashkan (Sean) creates an experience that one could only hope would permeate all of society. He is extremely friendly and welcoming, super fast, the facility is clean, and he truly presents a demeanor of caring about making sure you are treated with respect and served as fast as possible without feeling rushed. The most efficient, kind smog check facility I have ever visited. The owner is very careful with Covid prevention, and still makes things happen quickly for his customers, so no one is left waiting more than @5 minutes. The entire visit, from start to finish, even with one customer ahead of us, took less than 15 minutes. I had a great experience with Planet Smog Check. Sean is the nicest person, my car wouldn't pass smog and he helped me diagnose the problem so I can get it repaired. Unfortunately I needed it repaired asap and he didn't have the time to do it within in time frame I needed it done. Got it repaired elsewhere but went back to get my smog done with him. Came here with no appointment and two people ahead of me and barely had to wait at all! Even so the owner was extremely kind and apologized for the wait and even offered me a bottle of water!
