The ambiance could use an update, as well as more often table cleanings during mealtimes. But the service here has always been good and they have a clear and easy to understand menu. The sandwiches here are always delicious and good quality, with some really unique and tasty flavor combinations. My favorite is the Experience, it's a chicken sandwich with some extra zing. The chips selections are also a classic. A good lunch spot in a convenient location.

Buffalo chicken as a wrap, with ranch

I used to be a regular at the Planet Sub downtown and when I'm willing to splurge on the home made bread, I'll try it again, but I just don't crave sandwiches very often and when I do, I need 'em knock my socks off. This satisfied the need to get something in my belly to last me till dinner, and at a good price, but wasn't life changing. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with provolone instead of pepper jack, as a wrap and warmed to the tortilla gets all chewy and good. The ranch they offer is Ken's (also not my fave, but I'm a ranch snob). Overall, the buffalo sauce was good spice but was a little runnier than I'm used to. I do love that they have wrap and romaine options! And everyone there was attentive and nice.

I feel bad giving Planet Sub only 3 stars. If my review was based off service and cleanliness alone I'd give them more stars. Their staff is always laidback, friendly, and helpful. The place is always clean too. Even their giant fish tank is well taken care of. :) The food is what gives them 3 stars. It's not bad, but it's not my favorite. I have yet to find that special sandwich on their menu that I find myself craving. They have a good selection of sandwiches to pick from. Lots of options available for carnivores to vegetarians. I've tried a different sandwich almost every time we go, but I'm still just kinda "meh" about them. Here's hoping that someday I find the magical sandwich I desire from them! I'll update my review if it ever happens. ;)

I'm a PS fan, but I found this location to be just okay. I arrived at the end of the lunch rush. My sandwich was ready in about five minutes, it was perfectly toasted, and tasted great. The dining area had not recently been cleaned, and there was a puddle of water on the floor (with a caution marker), even though we have not had rain in several days. The service was somewhat friendly, and I enjoyed the aquarium. They also have good specials: MON kids eat free TUE $2.99 turkey THU $3.00 any veggie FRI free chips w/ footlong.

As far as I am concerned, the more locations the better. I love a hot sandwich and Planet Sub does them so well. This particular location makes me especially happy since it is close to Sonic and I can pick up a Route 44 ice tea to go with my sub!

Planet Sub how I've missed you. Just moved to KC and they closed their stores in Omaha. Love the unique options. I've had the Planet Sub and The Experience. Are you kidding me, they both could be my go to and I already love the Buffalo Chicken from my days in Omaha. Bread is delicious and served toasted, meats are very flavorful. If you like spicy, gotta try The Experience. I'm ready to try the next one on the menu.

    Worth the wait.

Meet a man named rocky who worked there, he whips up the best meatball sub. The upper echelon of sub making.

So I placed an online order and headed that way. I arrived early and waited for just a little bit. They were super busy but they seemed to be moving pretty quickly. My order was completed right on time and it was accurate. I didn't interact with anyone because they have a shelf to pick up online orders from so it's pretty non contact. I ordered my usual: a regular #9 Club supreme on Rosemary Parmesan. The club supreme has Roast beef, turkey, swiss, applewood smoked bacon and mayo. I like lettuce, tomato, oil, and vinegar. I did add pepperoni just to try it. There was honestly so much already going on in this sandwich and it didn't really add anything. The bread was delicious. The meat and cheese is all high quality and plentiful. And the veggies were fresh. I will definitely return and I recommend them!

The bread did not overwhelm the sandwich, which let the meat and toppings shine. The menu included a good variety of hot and cold sandwiches, chips, cookies, brownies and meals for the kiddos. I found the service to be welcoming, friendly and efficient, while the dining area was clean and new with country background music. Very nice.

Potato salad is better than most, the Mac and cheese is dangerously tasty. I ordered a side Caesar this time and might not do that again. It was a strangely small salad for a $6 up charge and didn't have Parmesan. Dressing was good though. The service at this place is very nice and if you order delivery then call them they always get the requests right. They're gracious and seem like they're in a good mood-always a positive when staff seem happy. Nice little business. I just have to get off my French dip kick and try more things:)

I had asked for extra mayo on the wrap and extra gorgonzola on the salad which neither of them had. The salad was fine, had good flavor, and would probably order again if I ever come back, but the wrap was sad... as shown in the photos. I had also ordered the famous sweet tea with lemons everyone talks about but they forgot to add a side of lemons.. If this wasn't an uber order I would have called and said that things were missing from the order but it wasn't worth it. I just hope when the next person orders extra of something or a side of lemons they get what they pay for..

As luck would have it, I had to run an errand near the area and my decision was made. First off, the entrance isn't where you'd think it would be. The order window was closed and I noticed people going up to the deck to get in, so up I headed. The place was actually spacious and comfortable, it has a Caribbean vibe to it. After much consternation, I figured I'd make it tough on them and opted for the Reuben. As some somebody who has had many Reubens at the place where they were invented, Omaha's Blackstone Hotel, I can be a tough judge. This is definitely the best place to get one in KC, so I know that I'll be back for more. I even liked the bread that they used, it set it apart from other sammiches. And the service was great, so I'll be back.

They even have a fun merch corner if you fee like reppin som delicious dough. Will return soon if not atleast a couple times before the end of the summer.
