However, this time it did not live up to the previous experience I had. I'm not sure if it was because I was hungry the first time and devoured the sandwich? The service was quick to say the least. A= Appearance - It was odd that this location did not have a restroom. T= Taste - Unfortunately, the sourdough bread tasted stale. The bread was lacking their signature sauce as well. The bacon was floppy and not crispy. Crispy bacon is a must to make a sandwich delicious! This is just a personal experience but I learned that I do not like warm olives in my sandwiches! read more

I wish the sandwich had a bit more flavor, but the hot sauce located at every table served just this purpose. Visit this Schlotzsky's on the average once a week after golf. I usually do not give reviews to restaurants until i have visited a few times to get an honest feel. Must say, the attention they give to keeping their tables, chairs, etc. clean are honorable. Each visit i have dined inside and without fail, when a customer leaves, an employee comes over to the table and sanitizes. The food has always been fresh and yes, i've even broken my own rule of not having sweets right after a meal, but the cinnabons are just too tempting. Prices are right for the sandwich (nice-sized). Love the original! Buns/bread is always spot on. But we were SHOCKED today when we gave our order at the counter and started to tap pay but the worker said, "You have to put in my tip first." What?? The cashier who rang us up was extremely patient and polite, quick order, I asked for a second water cup and he just gave me the biggest cup they had. The inside is extremely clean and organized. Everything is tidy, the music isn't overbearing. The food literally looks and tastes perfect. I fear i've found a Schlotzsky's experience i'll never come close to back home in Houston. I have used Schlotzsky's for years for catering and they do a phenomenal job! The food is outstanding. And they have gourmet flatbread pizzas and the best salads in town... Even better than Paneras. Our family was visiting Kansas from out of state and as an impromptu place for lunch we stopped by Schlotzsky's. It was a very rewarding and filling experience for a fast food style place. Their bread is all made from scratch including for the calzone which was extremely tasty. The portions are also very large for the price asked and it was overall a wholesome meal for us to enjoy on the go. I'd recommend it for anyone to try at least once! I was blown away by this place. I had never been here before and wasn't really expecting much - but with a BOGO coupon I figured what the heck. We each got a large sandwich - Fiesta Chicken and Turkey Bacon Club. I was expecting them to use a long hoagie roll but they came out on massive round buns. These things were so big. I seriously love Schlotzsky's, and have for years and years and years. I was sad when they closed the Johnson Drive location near me, but thrilled when I noticed this one. My car practically pulled itself into the parking lot. I've only ever gotten one thing at a Schlotzsky's, but it's perfection so I'm probably never going to branch out- the veggie sandwich. Sounds boring, but it's so not! Layers of greens, black olives (which are one of my all-time fave foods, btw) tomatoes, cucumbers & onions, plus a thin layer of melted cheese, and a light creamy dill dressing. There may be other ingredients, and of course you can add or subtract ingredients, but I love it just how they make it regularly. It's served on flaky, toasty bread and it's sooooo freaking delicious!! There are 3 sizes, and the small is quite satisfying. Add a bag of chips (the selection is huge, including baked varieties,) an iced tea, lemonade, or Coke product, and you're good to go. There's a drive-thru, a large seating area, and a nice patio outside- not particularly scenic, but on this non-humid 77 degree day, it was just lovely. read more

Schlotzsky's has good sandwiches and they also sell Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. As far as I know, Schlotzsky's are the only way to get a Cinnabon in KC. I usually restrain myself and avoid the icing covered sugar bombs, and go with a turkey bacon club on jalapeño cheddar bread. The bread isn't really spicy, but it adds a little extra flavor. I also really enjoy the house brand chips they offer. I typically get the cracked pepper chips. Overall, a nice lunch spot when I'm craving a toasty sandwich. read more

This is a nice place for lunch. I like the original and smoked turkey sandwiches on that delicious sourdough bread. The optional Louisiana hot sauce also does a good job spicing things up. I have found the service to be consistently fast and accurate, and I like the inviting, relaxing atmosphere of the dining area (with background music). My sister arrived from Texas and we needed a quick but good place to eat she loves Schlotzsky's but doesn't get to. There at home. I had the Cobb salad and she ordered the bbq chicken pizza. The pizza crust had an ingredient that wed didn't know was in it that she was allergic to. Isidore was very concerned that everything be great for us. COVID? Not sure if that's the excuse, perhaps they are understaffed due to employees staying home sick (which, hopefully is the reason, though I don't wish ill health on anyone either) but it shouldn't take 30 minutes for food to be prepared. They didn't look busy, but maybe lots of on-line orders. I know many businesses are crippled because employees are too sick to work. At least that means folks are smart enough and responsible enough to stay home if that's the case. But I can't wait 30 minutes for this food. I have been a hard-core regular customer at this location for 5 years. Not easy to give them only 1 star after all those years of great food and service.
