Unfortunately, this appears to have become standard practice rather than the exception. Attempting to impose restocking fees just one week after delivering a failed appliance, particularly when the defect has been confirmed by your installer, is not only unreasonable but raises serious ethical concerns. This is not how professional businesses operate. Stamford customers deserve to be treated with respect, fairness, and accountability. If your organization is unable or unwilling to provide that standard of service, perhaps it is time to make room for a company that values its customers and the Stamford community. read more

We have bought all of our major appliances from Planet TV and Appliances since moving into the area 18 years ago. The service is great, the salespeople are not pushy, and the prices are the best in the area. We always compare the price of the model we purchase to make sure we are getting a fair price, and without fail, Planet TV has the best prices, and they do not charge a delivery fee as do most outlets. I wanted to support a local, mom-and-pop appliance store instead of a big-box retailer, but unfortunately this experience did not work out well. I purchased a 55-inch TV from Planet Appliance and, after installation, realized I actually needed a 65-inch model. I fully acknowledge that I made a mistake by discarding the original box. However, despite having just spent a significant amount of money and being willing to exchange or upgrade, the store refused to offer any solution whatsoever--no exchange, no store credit, no flexibility. I understand policies exist, and I take responsibility for my error. That said, the complete lack of customer accommodation was disappointing, especially from a local business where you expect some level of personal service. Ironically, I ended up spending over $5,000 at a large national retailer afterward and received far better support. I wanted to support a small business, but this experience showed me why many customers stick with larger corporations. The worst experience ever!!! We went into Planet TV and Appliances to buy a new clothes dryer; the salesman was so rude and not into making a sale. IT honestly felt like we were bothering him. No sense of customer service and extremely unprofessional. He couldn't be bothered with checking prices, delivery dates (the guy was supposedly out to lunch), or just being a normal human being. I have had a hard time with these guys regarding a home theater installation. - System is unstable, overheats and has to be rebooted every month or so. Universal remote stops working from time to time because of some software glitch - It's almost impossible to get them to come in and fix a problem if you run into one. Got it mid July. Should have known and canceled after first 3 excuses of why it took so long. Few days after receipt I had an unfortunate accident on the boat , engine blew up with me on swim platform in bathing suit. Awful experiencewhich left me with a Refrigerator I couldn't use. I informed them immediately from ICU and worked with management on a solution to be able to return it. Mind you i didn't need a story or excuse. I had just received, in battered box 2 months late and had right to return unused or unpacked.. I'm grateful at the effort. Not. Anthony, the manager for the last 2 months has bern telling me he's working on it and really feels bad. I learn he's been on vacation and busy with other items. I got a hold of owner I think, Steven Pricksco, by accident. He answered phone late one day, after many messages to return my call. He also gave me run around. Even told me he'd send guy there to check and see condition. He did, but then denied the refund because box was opened. Not unpacked.bopened. like person who would accept it would do before signing for it to make sure whats in box. But untouched otherwise. PLANET TV and STEVEN PRICKSCO ARE BAD BUSINESS. The box was opened only to extend any delivered item requiring a signature would be open in order to confirm contents before blindly signing. I should have went to small claims.. Bought a $1,600.00 appliance from them. The delivery man damaged my home during installation and he was really nice and said to call and have it fixed. You'd think... "No problem, right? Covered under their insurance, right?" Think again. They came over and looked at the damage. And then they ghosted me. No return phone calls, no follow up. Stood in their showroom waiting for an owner and after 30 mins. they said he wasn't in. My parents who live up the way in N. Stamford had shopped there and blew sick amounts of money there for YEARS. They were mortified. They tried to call and speak to people they've known for years. Nothing. Everyone is right, I had a good experience with the staff on the front end of this transaction. But after being treated so poorly by the owners over a repair costing less than $1,000 I learned my lesson about customer loyalty...(Sorry people, I really dislike leaving a review like this, but I don't want any Yelper to be subjected to this.) Buying : Knowledgeable staff and excellent pricing. Consistently way below big box store pricing for new, authorized dealer products. No pressure sales - you usually get the best pricing right up front which is great - but do your research and make sure to factor in delivery, disposal, tax, rebates and other fees. Delivery: Here is where I was really impressed. Delivery was very fast and they were able to accommodate changes on the fly which is typically unheard of. Delivery staff couldn't have been more professional, caring and courteous which is refreshing to see. We worked with Chris, one of the owners. First of all, they are extremely knowledgeable in product. They were so helpful helping us decide which brand to get and didn't oversell expensive brands or variations like many other places we encountered - they just simply educated us and told us to make our decision from there: this was so appreciate. Where they really shined was delivery and customer satisfaction. My fridge was delivered on a Saturday and they were extremely flexible with my crazy schedule. Unfortunately, once they left we were unable to get my fridge into the kitchen due to size (the delivery guy had told us how to get it in and we thought we would be able to so we let that be). The next day, we called and explained the situation and chris promised they would make it right. This to me is where it is 100% WORTH USING MOM AND POP SHOPS over HOME DEPOT or LOWES even if they can't beat the pricing- hd or lowes would have said "sorry, it's too late we already delivered". Chris and Clark with deliveries team coordinated during the week and were able to get someone out the following Saturday to take care of us because we had another time sensitive project going on. The accommodation was so appreciated and quite frankly the best customer service I could expect. This is the type of customer service that keeps people coming back. After recently purchasing a coop that required full renovation I went to Planet and Appliance for all my kitchen appliances, air conditioners and a new television. Robert Prisco guided me through all available options for every item I was planning to purchase. Finding the proper sized refrigerator was the hardest problem throughout the renovation. Due to the size and space of the kitchen nearly every single refrigerator I was looking at would have stuck out passed the wall and into the doorway. What was the greatest surprise was the delivery and installation process. A man named Jesus delivered the fridge only to find the fit extremely challenging to say the least.
