After trying a local pls e in Chatham for avocado toast and not enjoying myself, I decided to come to Planted Eats Montville. They never disappoint. I ordered the avocado toast, no onions and an added real (not vegan) egg on their veggie bread. I'm so glad I came here and ordered this. There was no residual onion taste or tastes not wanted. The egg was perfectly cooked. Ashley helped me. She was so friendly and brought me my toast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is that of a cute cafe. The tables are made from wood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will be back. I have been back many times. If you are vegan or gluten free, this place is for you. They do have non vegan items on the menu, hence the chicken egg. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Vegan Bacon, egg and cheese on focaccia bread and chickpea caprese toast.

YUM! We just tried this cafe for the first time and LOVED it. We had the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and the chickpea caprese toast. Both items and the coffee with oat milk were absolutely delicious. We also grabbed a mushroom stew, kimchi and tofu soup and lasagne to go! [[HIGHLIGHT]]VEGANS AND NON VEGANS will love the food and atmosphere at Planted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can tell they put a lot of thought and love into their food We highly recommend this spot.

If you want to find some great vegan/vegetarian options on Montville, then Planted is a great option! I stopped in for some breakfast and picked up a smoothie bowl - Purple Plant Power, and a Tumeric tonic. Keep in mind everything takes a bit to make, so it's not "fast food" - allow yourself extra time for them to make your food or drink. Everything was really good and pretty filling. Also, from the Tumeric Tonic, you can re-use the glass bottle that it is filled in for water or wash it out and maybe bring it back to use for your next drink order. I'll definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area.

Cute little spot. Great menu variation; juices, bowls, smoothies, sandwiches, and coffee!! If you want something healthy in the area, this is the spot.

Easily one of the better specialty lattes I've had. The almond croissant was fantastic: flaky, buttery, and topped generously with almonds. It paired really well with the coffee. The café was very busy when we walked in, which says a lot about how popular it is. Tables are on the smaller side, so if you're planning to work on a laptop, it can feel a bit tight -- but it's still doable if you're mindful of space. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and welcoming, even with the rush. Overall, great coffee, excellent pastries, and a warm vibe. Definitely worth the stop, whether you're grabbing something to-go or sitting down for a bit.

I've seen a few negative reviews, but my experience has been totally different and I honestly think those critiques are undeserved. The coffee and food are fantastic. Their beans come fresh from the family plantations in Colombia, which you really can taste in every cup -- you won't find that kind of direct farm-to-cup flavor around here. It's wonderful to have such great quality coffee and a lovely atmosphere right here in Lake Hiawatha. Highly recommend stopping by!

They usually play jazz music which is great to relax to but their furniture needs a huge upgrade for starters. The stools are very creaky. A couple of the couches are also not very comfortable to sit on for extended periods of time. They don't have many outlets to plug your electronics into. The bathroom is reallllly small. Its basically a closet. Lastly they dont have central air so Its difficult to get comfortable during the hot summer. I also dont think the owner likes me too much. I think he thought i was hitting on his girlfriend. The hours are great though. They're open 7am to 7pm everyday which no other coffee shop can match. Update: Now you see from the response Alex posted what a shmo this guy is claiming I was there 122 times. If anyone can tell me why someone would visit this place that frequently, id love to know. The Salvation Army probably has better furniture. Alex's ego is so big yet he runs a shop that one or two people pop in at most on any given day. Don't like people? Don't serve the public. For every person that doesn't like me, I bet there's 100 that despise you.

Then told me I couldn't bring anything in and then walked off to continue his conversation with his buddy. Now I respect policies but this dude is something else. Theres a lot of ways to approach the situation and the way this old guy handled it, was not it. He thinks he's some sort of marshall and has no concept of how to talk to people even though he's dealt with the community for years. If you want to try bringing in your stuff, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Im sure their overall service is good but he needs a complete attitude adjustment or retire.

What a delightful tea shop. One of my most authentic experiences in the US, comparable to my…read moreexperiences in tea shops in Taiwan. I actually came across this place on an Instagram post and decided to check it out. It seems that normally a tea ceremony is something we'd have to book ahead of time (and pay for, apparently) but we didn't know. So, we wandered in and the shopkeep started telling us about teas and she let me smell a green one. I asked if I could try it, she generously said yes, and that kicked off an unplanned tea ceremony. It started off with just my husband and I, but as other people came into the shop, the shopkeep invited them to join us at the table so by the end there was another couple, a woman, the shopkeep's husband and the shop's assistant hanging out together and drinking tea. We learned all about the villages where the teas came from, the differences between some of them, how old the teas are, how the shop came to be, even about the tea table we sat at. Super cool vibe, loved the coming together of strangers bonding for hours over a shared love of tea, but one that I'm not sure can be replicated because again, these tea tastings are meant to be booked ahead of time with your party, and are meant to be a paid service (though in Taiwan, tea tastings are free). We got lucky because the shop wasn't busy and people had cancelled their tea bookings due to an upcoming snow storm. I will most likely come back for more tea at some point. Even if a spontaneous tea ceremony never happens again, I count my blessings that such an experience even happened once, and would still recommend this shop to any Chinese tea lover.
