After becoming a tropical smoothie junkie a couple of years ago, I was headed that way and said let me try something different. And there right up the street was planted eats. What a great decision! I had an avocado toast, The avocado smush nicely adorned with nice tomato slices and a little pile of mixed greens and onions on a wonderful, thin slice of their sourdough bread. Toasted. Absolutely delicious and enough for this guy at lunch. I also had a blueberry breeze smoothie. And tho smaller than TSC smoothies, it was mostly fruit thick and extremely delicious served in a mason jar with a biodegradable straw. I also got a Bahama breeze to go and look forward to it tomorrow. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is that of a library with some comfortable couches and chairs and some long family style tables with nice wrought iron chairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordering is at the the deli counter and they bring you your food. The very pleasant counterman was constantly busy with the slow flow of midweek traffic after lunch time. It was nice to see several moms with their little ones, all smiling to take a break from the midweek pressures. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find in a tiny strip mall right on route 202 across the street from Black Rabbit Saloon on the Boonton Montville border. After trying a local pls e in Chatham for avocado toast and not enjoying myself, I decided to come to Planted Eats Montville. They never disappoint. I ordered the avocado toast, no onions and an added real (not vegan) egg on their veggie bread. I'm so glad I came here and ordered this. There was no residual onion taste or tastes not wanted. The egg was perfectly cooked. Ashley helped me. She was so friendly and brought me my toast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is that of a cute cafe. I never new cardboard could be prepared in so many different, I guess, healthy ways. The chicken-ish sandwich with a mustard-ish dressing crammed between two slices of barely legible prime box toasted. The banana-ish bread-ish was hmm, well I'm certain it's healthy. YUM! We just tried this cafe for the first time and LOVED it. We had the bacon,egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and the chickpea caprese toast. Both items and the coffee with oat milk were absolutely delicious. We also grabbed a mushroom stew, kimchi and tofu soup and lasagne to go! If you want to find some great vegan/vegetarian options on Montville, then Planted is a great option! I stopped in for some breakfast and picked up a smoothie bowl - Purple Plant Power, and a Tumeric tonic. Keep in mind everything takes a bit to make, so it's not "fast food" - allow yourself extra time for them to make your food or drink. Everything was really good and pretty filling. Also, from the Tumeric Tonic, you can re-use the glass bottle that it is filled in for water or wash it out and maybe bring it back to use for your next drink order. I'll definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area. read more

The fun part of traveling is finding those little Mom and Pop restaurants with great food. This is one of those restaurants. It's not just a restaurant with great food it is a vegetarian restaurant with great food. This place is a deli style restaurant. They not only make the sandwich, they make the bread too. My sandwich was a very yummy plant based "tuna" on homemade gluten free bread. If you are vegetarian and eating gluten-free display should be on your shortlist of places to eat. read more

I finally got here, and glad that I did. The place is immaculate and the staff is welcoming and friendly. Be patient everything is fresh and made to order. My build your own smoothie bowl was a nice way to shake up my usual boring lunch, and it was delicious. Prices are higher than playa bowls but I love supporting a local small business who has healthy and nutritious options. read more

...it's open. I've only been here once. I did take out. I think the place has a lot of potential. I got the roasted buddha bowl. It was healthy, but I definitely wish there was more sauce/kick to the salad. It's a quinoa/black bean bowl with pumpkin seeds, so it was filling and healthy. But yeah, I wish there was more dressing and flavor. I also got an "organic detox shot" to chug down on the road before I meeting. Not bad. I wish it was more gingery! It's not fast-food. They make everything, so if you're in a rush (I was in a NYC state of mind as I ran from one place to another for a meeting), pre-order. The place has seats outside, it's clean, inviting, and warm inside, and the workers are friendly. I think the prices are a little high, but that's ok. The quality and healthiness is there , and if I can find the flavor I'm looking for, I'll definitely bump up the rating! read more
