This is a well rounded, smaller nursery. Very well stocked with natives and succulents. They also have a good stock of citrus and trees, and roses. I wish I found this place when I moved to Lake Forest 30 years ago. Owner is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Prices are over 1/3 less than what Home Depot, Lowes and other Orange County nurseries are charging. Plants are very healthy with a good variety. I highly recommend this nursery. We found Laurie Park with Plantenders last year when we were redoing our backyard. He was referred from a friend who also utilized his services for their front and back yard landscaping(which turned out beautiful). What I appreciate about him is his knowledge of plants. This is my second time here at Plantenders. The first time Laurie came to my house, sketched out detail plans at my house, then in a few days he put it all in a detailed binder that included pictures and descriptions of each plant he recommended and the price for all the plants (very reasonable). When the plants came in, he drove them over and placed them where they belong. He does not do the digging. The planner and the delivery was complimentary-so amazing. All places I've been to charge for this type of detailed plan. On my own I dug over a hundred holes over a few weeks. I get so many complements on my flower beds now. I went back a second time to plant some pots with succulents and he was just as friendly and helpful even with my small purchase. Not a single plant has died and I am no expert gardener. We have been to many nurseries in the south OC area but none of them compare to the customer service offered at Plantenders. The nursery itself is very cool and rustic and Laurie is so knowledgeable, helpful, honest and nice. He has an eye for landscape design and more specifically can offer plant suggestions that fit your location. We have used his consulting services more than once to assist us in planting our front yard and slope and they both turned out beautifully. I visited five nurseries in the area and this was the best. We bought citrus trees and succulents. They have a great large selection of drought resistant plants. It is a family business operated by the owner for many years. The owner has a degree is biology and knows a LOT about plants. The prices are very reasonable compared to other bursaries in the area. The owner is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Spent a lot of time with us explaining different plants, and did not rush us or exerted sales pressure. The best plant buying experience ever! Was looking for Pittosporum Tobira and had a tough time finding it at my local nurseries. Someone recommended Plantenders and although it was a little ways out I am really glad I went out there. Not only did they have it there but I found their prices on the whole are more economical than other nurseries. Super helpful and friendly staff and owner took me over and helped me select a large growth plant. He wanted to carry it over to my car but that was not necessary. Overall an A+ experience. I was cruising down Santiago canyon road and was curious about this nursery. The name was catchy and I saw rows of palm trees. As I strolled around the land, I felt at peace. They have plenty of succulents, palm trees, cacti, and other drought friendly plants. I am new to this gardening stuff but the owner helped me picked some drought friendly and low maintenance plants. I wanted to buy a Santa Rosa plum tree from a local, family-owned nursery. After doing my research and reading all the great reviews about Plantenders, I gave them a call. Laurie called me back, gave me his cell number, answered all my questions, and was just so kind and knowledgeable and friendly. I paid extra for home delivery, and he even offered to help me plant the tree. As for the plum tree itself, I've never --in years of buying baby trees--seen a bigger, sturdier, healthier tree. Especially for such a reasonable price. In the two months since we planted our plum tree, it has grown nearly three feet. No joke: nearly THREE FEET. It even has a baby plum on it! Nice nursery for specimen-sized succulents. I am redoing a portion of my yard and needed large sized succulents. Plantenders has a good selection of large succulents at excellent prices. The majority of their large succulents are $21.50. I picked out a large Echeveria at least 12" in diameter, Aeonium sunburst, silver dollar jade, 1 gal Sedum clavatum, 2 gal paddle plant, and another 2 gal Echeveria. There were some beautiful 15 gal and 5 gal agave attenuatas. read more

Plantenders is amazing...believe all the excellent reviews! Our front and back yard needed a desperate make-over so we decided to check out Plantenders based on all the five star reviews. We met Laurie (the owner) and he was so nice and friendly. He took his time showing us around the nursery and getting an idea of the plants we liked and the plants we didn't care for. He then came out to our home for a personalized consultation! He took measurements and photos which he used to create a custom plan. Once the plan was complete, we met and went over it together. It included photos of our yard, a plant glossary with photos of the plants and a reasonable quote. Did I mention all of this was complimentary...no charge?!! Once we gave the green light, he ordered and delivered all the plants and even placed them in the correct areas where they were to be planted. Our yard is gorgeous and I love looking out and seeing all the lush beautiful plants and flowers! He did such a great job figuring out what plants to use where, how many of each plant we needed, and giving it an overall cohesive look - I could have never done all that myself! He even brought over an additional plant and didn't charge me when I showed him an area that looked a little naked...talk about great customer service! And to top it all off, to my surprise Plantenders is actually very reasonably priced, which I was not expecting at all, from an independent nursery. In fact, I'm fairly certain its less expensive and better quality than the big box stores! Highly recommend! You won't go wrong with this place! read more

Laurie at Plantenders is so knowledgeable and friendly, and we could not be more thrilled with the trees he picked out and delivered for us (beautiful CA pepper trees, palms, oro blanco grapefruit, lime, tangerine). He came to do a house consultation and suggested some landscaping options, and with extra time at home now we are finally executing. The nursery has lots of great trees and plants, and he can order things he doesn't have and deliver.
