WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE TO GO WITH DOCTOR STANLEY POULOS! WORST RHINOPLASTY/SEPTOPLASTY SAYS THOSE WHO'VE SEEN IT! MY NOSE HAS BEEN DEEMED "UNFIXABLE" HE RUINED MY FACE, AND SHATTERED MY CURRENT CAREER, MY FUTURE CAREER, AND MY DREAMS! HE LIED AND DECEIVED ME EVERY TIME I SAW HIM! I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO OUTLINE ALL HIS WRONGDOINGS.. When I saw him I was seeking a revisionary rhinoplasty/septoplasty and had a slightly 'overscooped' bridge. This common mistake in a rhinoplasty is fixable with the right surgeon. Dr. Stanley Poulos took the time to use his 3D imaging machine and software to show me what he could and would do. He assured me it'd be "no problem" to achieve the result, that he'd done it "thousands" of times, and he was very confident he was able to do what he showed me. I told him I was pursuing an on-screen career in television, and that it was very important he do the job right. "No problem" he said.. I should have listened to my gut instinct which told me to run. He convinced me he was the guy for the job. I should have never trusted this deceitful man.. Before and after the surgery he was nowhere to be found. After the surgery I noticed blood OUTSIDE my bandages. It would have been nice to know things went askew during surgery and I now had scars on the side of my nose, one which looks like a penis. From the time the bandages came off I had concerns, and he assured me my concerns would go away and things would look fine.. HE NEVER ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS, or acknowledged my many SERIOUS concerns about my MANY, MANY, newly created ASYMMETRIES HE CREATED! In my e-mails to him with attached photos he would say 'I don't see what you're talking about'. Funny, how EVERYONE I KNOW, AND EVERY SURGEON I'VE SEEN SEES IT, BUT HE DOESN'T. Maybe that's why it's there! Things just got worse and worse. After getting the bandages off he didn't even tell me about the scar revision cream until weeks later when I asked what could be done, and I had to pay $80 for it. He gave me bad advice to get Kenalog injections, and now I didn't trust him so I saw other surgeons who said NOT TO DO THAT, because it'd create more thinning in the skin, and make a future surgery much worse than it already will be now. The other surgeons also told me that not only did they see all the many irregularities he created, but also that THEY WOULD GET MUCH WORSE OVER TIME.. After seeing other surgeons, I saw Dr. Poulos again, and told him what they said. He agreed, that Kenalog was a bad idea (why recommend it in the first place then, when I said I "can't live" with "this nose" that he created!) and also that the irregularities would get worse over time. HE FINALLY ADMITTED things "didn't go as planned". In person and in e-mail he had denied seeing what I saw, and would be silent or try to sweep it under the rug saying I was still a good looking guy. He was a coward in not answering my questions and acknowledging what happened at all, or how it could possibly be fixed. Things just got worse and worse with this man. He failed to remove all the stitches from my nose. I had to remove a few myself, and one remains in my nose to this day, which pokes me and makes me bleed regularly. After telling him about it, he didn't even bring it up the next appointment, and the appointment after, he failed to get it out. Big surprise! MY NOSE HAS V-LIKE NOTCHES ON EITHER SIDE OF WHAT LOOKS LIKE A BAND AID OF FLESH IN RIGHT HAND SIDE OF MY NOSE, WITH A DISCOLORED DIVOT INSIDE. I have no idea why there's notches, a divot, or why there's so many asymmetries. That's not all. There's also MANY BONE IRREGULARITIES FROM HIS CARVING OF MY BONE. He would not acknowledge them in person, but in the medical records he mentions "bone irregularities" and "cartilaginous irregularities". ON TOP OF ALL THAT, I HAVE UGLY SCARS. Could he have avoided them, I believe yes, why, because everything he's done, before, during, after surgery, and his medical records, as well as attorneys I've spoken to and other PEOPLE WHO KNOW HIM SAY HE DOES SLOPPY WORK! I wish I knew this before I walked into his office, and trusted this man. He also DID NOT DO WHAT HE SAID HE'D DO. HE FAILED MISERABLY AND RUINED MY LIFE. I used to be a happy, confident person, and now for the first time ever I've been in a cascading depression, and have had to seek therapy. He ruined my career, and shattered my dreams. I believed this man. I trusted this man, and it was the WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! If I ever can afford to pursue another rhinoplasty/septoplasty, they will have no cartilage to work with, because he harvested it all, and this he admitted. On top of that, another surgery would be VERY HIGH RISK and VERY EXPENSIVE, like 20k+!!! I LOOK EXPONENTIALLY WORSE. THERE'S NOT ONE PERSON, OR SURGEON IN THE WORLD WHO WOULD SAY I LOOK BETTER!!!!! (FOR INITIAL APPOINTMENT ONLY WILL FOLLOW UP REVIEW AFTER PROCEDURE) I found PSS through an add along side my facebook, scary sometimes how google searches can attune the ads you see perfectly to you but serendipitous it turned to be. I saw they were doing a $2000 discounted price on augmentation procedures and using new image technology to get an idea of what your implanted-self will look like. So I immediately called and scheduled an appointment with them for last Saturday (which of itself was awesome, I was traveling from the south bay so to have a Saturday option was great with my full work schedule!) to talk about a breast augmentation. The ladies who took my appointment over the phone, walked me through what to expect and called with check ups and reminders were two of the nicest and warm women I could hope for. They not only were knowledgeable but soo accommodating and immediately put me at ease. I had asked for the earliest appointment of the day, 9am, and had a near 1.5 journey to get to them and of course with my luck, managed to lock myself out of my car with only 20mi to go! Renee, and DeeDee(? as I am writing this I am blanking on her name?!) were so kind and calmed me down as I grew increasingly frustrated that AAA was taking so long and assured me they would find a way to get me in that day and to keep me included in the first wave of this trial group using the new imaging techniques. I have to say that this was when I made the first mental note leaning towards PSS. I am 23 and have some real fears about going under the knife and receiving what will be my first major surgery and the kindness and almost motherly nature these ladies showed me made me think post op would be easier under their care and guidance. Finally arriving in their office, which by the way was very beautiful, spa meets doctors office in a harmonious way, Renee greeted me warmly, happy I had finally made it safe and sound! I got a quick tour of the facility and started getting to work right away on paper work and then they saw me into one of their different rooms and started helping me choose whether I wanted saline or silicon, under or over the muscle, different insertion points, and whether I would be needing a lift as well. I got to see tons of pictures of his different works, the three different profiles, high, mid and low, of a breast implant (which they other two doctors I had made appointments with never went over?) and were very helpful in mentoring my choices so I had the most natural overall look as possible. I then met with Dr. Poulos who gave me his expert opinion, and encouraged a lift which I knew was inevitable with a great explanation as to why but completely leaving the final choice up to me. He was very informative answering all my questions regarding heal time, aesthetics, what to expect and what expectations are/aren't realistic. I then went in and got my pictures done to see and play around with what size would be best for me, which Oh Lord, so glad I did I would have been very unhappy had I not because I was erring on the side of too small and would have been really upset to have gone through the whole procedure, spent all the money, and done recovery only to find they just weren't what I wanted. I then met back again with Renee to talk cost and again I felt at ease with her nurturing manner as she helped me figure out the best way to plan payments taking into my particular needs and circumstances making me feel very comfortable. The entire staff said goodbye by name as I left and all in all I could not be more confident and happy going into this with PSS. Firstly, love Dr office and his staff! I first came to Dr's office earlier this year through a gilt city voucher, and specifically for dermal fillers. They have a super convenient midtown location and the building/office are immaculate, and the office views are amazing! Dr is such a nice and friendly guy - this and clearly being knowledgeable about what his is doing puts everything at ease. Dr not only has a great aesthetic eye while injecting, he is conservative with the product so you don't look overdone (easy risk in this town) and he is definitely up to date on the most advanced and best injection techniques - when needed, he used an alternate technique for injecting around my hollow undereyes than a previous clinic had; the technique he likes gets more product under the eye, involves far less pricks - and therefore less slow healing and less chance of bruising, and better result! Dr also helped me with Boletero filler to help cosmetically correct a previously done rhinoplasty from many years ago. I had planned to go the fillers route for this, and Dr was the perfect doc to help me make the minor corrections needed to feel better about how it looked. All that said, I enjoyed my results and now a few months later wanted to come back in around my birthday and was welcomed back with opened arms by the staff. We had a slight delay getting my back in on the time table I wanted this time around, but once I was in, the staff was friendly as ever. We actually decided to try a different version of the same procedure I have done before, and while I am still healing, I am only very faintly bruised, and extremely excited for my overall final results! Additionally, I should mention that when doing injectables, Dr's office offers complimentary Vbeam Laser treatment for patients for any bruising that may occur! It definitely speeds up the healing process, and since I bruise easily I need and appreciate the service! All in all, Dr and the whole team are wonderful and whether this is your first or tenth time around the block with fillers or other cosmetic services, you'll be in great hands. read more

Yelp is for honest people with real reviews, not personal vendettas. I had a breast reduction and a lift about 3 years back and I can't tell you how much the procedure changed my life. At the time I was 28 years old and had ginormous breasts that made me look years older than I actually was (and not to mention, heavier). I was TERRIFIED about the procedure, but I was at a point when I decided that it was time for me to change for the better. Dr. Poulos was as nice as can be and I was surprised at how conservative he was during my consultation. You always see these shows where surgeons are telling you to go bigger, I actually wanted to have a bigger breast size than I do now, and it is thanks to Dr. Poulos' conservative advice that I am the size I am today. Thank goodness I listened!!! Dr. Poulos always kept it professional and went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the process and results. He held my hand through the entire procedure, and always told me what was coming next and what to expect. In fact, my mother went to him for a face lift shortly before my procedure. Dr. Douglas was absolutely wonderful to work with! I had a breast augmentation and fat transfer done to correct asymmetry. I was extremely nervous about the procedure and results. However, Dr. Douglas and the nurses at PSS were great at always answering all of my questions and I am beyond happy with how it turned out. Dr. Douglas was also great about keeping expectations realistic and listening to my concerns and hopes for how I wished my body to look post-procedure. I went into the surgery feeling confident and at ease. I went to the Beauty Salon at PSS post-surgery for lymphatic massages due to some extra swelling and soreness I had after my surgery. I cannot recommend Eva enough! Again, I was a bit skeptical about the massage and its effects, but I saw and felt immediate results. Before my first massage with Eva, I could hardly walk (due to pain from the fat transfer) and could not move my arms much. She had me walking around much easier and suddenly I was able to lift my arms above my head, a week after my surgery. I have kept returning to her for the lymphatic massages and am constantly impressed with how much better I feel after. She has really helped speed up the healing process. Dr. Hvistendahl lifted my neck revealing a more youthful jaw line, removed unsightly fat under my chin and gave it a new home under my eyes for a more youthful look. But after the first two times, I had already experienced decreasing pain and swelling. So, I decided to sign up for four more treatments, as recommended. I had my eyes done less than two weeks ago. The results speak for themselves. It has been a great experience--some discomfort but the results are truly amazing to me. I didn't think I could look so much better (or was not aware of just how tired I looked). Nothing looks weird or pulled, but simply much more rested and refreshed. I did both my eyes and neck at the same time, and recommend it. Recovery meant taking some time to rest, and a few good scarves and sunglasses to hide a bit of the swelling. Two weeks tomorrow and almost all the bruising is gone. The practice helps by recommending some natural healing techniques like Arnica, both topical and by mouth. They also recommend therapeutic lymph massages to help with the swelling. I went to Eva Clairborne in Tiburon and she is magic. Her technique helped the swelling immediately. I totally agree with the other two people that he is a monster and a butcher!! I had a "mommy makeover" about 3 years ago and was SO dissapointed. After the procedure both breast were totally un-even and my stiches in my stomach ripped open and he sewed them back up in the office as if I was a rag-doll (several times). I had to have a 2nd surgery to correct the breast which of course I had to pay for (ridiculous). I became extrememly depressed and anxious after the surgery and the staff (especially the sales women that initially sets you up for the surgery with the long blond hair)....could CARE LESS....because they had their money.....the staff was like "oh hmmm you don't feel good, hmm"....I had a rash that I could itch until I bled...and they were like "oh thats weird"...I had to diagnose myself. I DO NOT recommend him at all. I really hope Dr. Hvistendahl opens his own practice because Poulos gives him a really bad name. I wish I had gone to Dr. Hvistendahl. read more

Dr. Poulos has changed my life. I was very nervous (scared actually) but after an amazing consultation during which he put me totally at ease and explained everything to me in a very professional manner I took the plunge and had my face lift. All my friends are amazed at how young I look for my age which I will not reveal here. I travel a lot and Airport Security Personnel continually question the age shown on my driver's license which I absolutely do not mind.
