With that being said, I commonLy see city workers doing their rounds in trying to upkeep. The renovations that happened a few years ago has brought Life back to the park. It is now more modern, spacious, cLean. Friends and I were at King's Burger House, and then, Mayfair skate park. I didn't recall this park but it was on our way to Sunnyvale because I'm at my best when I go the wrong way. The skate park was very active, and everyone there was chill. There were bikes, skateboards, and scooters being used. The graffiti makes it somewhat slippery but the concrete looks good. There is a deep, two-level bowl toward the north end of the skate park, but there are so many things to ride, no one should be bored. There were also restrooms available. read more

This is a good space for basketball players at night , medium lit courts, all 5 hoops, still good to get active conditioning at night with friends. Nice people play here as well , with an active skatepark with middle aged people usually quiet & peaceful , maybe some music occasionally read more

This is my neighborhood park. The reason why I loved this place was because it had the biggest slide known to man. Of course, I've grown from all that stuff, so that's not necessarily cool anymore. The only reason why I come to this park now is to play basketball, and even that has lost its edge. No, not because I suck at basketball (because I really do suck), and no, it's not because of the lack of hoops either. I hate playing basketball because there is bird feces all over the place. Sure, it's a park and you have to live with some of the "fertilizer", but honestly, when is somebody gonna clean the birdshit? I used to use this place as a shortcut on a walk to the nearby Walgreens, but now I just avoid it. Other than the toilet that is the basketball court, the playground is still intact, and the new feature now is the skatepark. I don't go near it because I'm not into that kind of thing, but it has all sorts of graffitti. Lots of money went into getting that skatepark, and now it's tagged all over. What's worse is that skatepark caused the walking trails to condense, so now there's less room for my run. This place is a shining example of memories simply being memories, but I guess it's good to see some change. I'll probably give this place an updated review once I actually have a picnic here, but that probably won't happen anytime soon due to its ghetto location (in the heart of King, McKee, and Alum Rock). If you have kids, please keep them away from the busy streets and suspicious looking people. I know that's considered profile, but show some defensive care. 2 stars because there are better parks. Extra star making it 3 for the memories. By the way, there's no tennis courts or batting cages here. read more

Its also a skatepark... big, nice & clean park... has 2 basketball court, and playground for all ages.... ( heheh i tried couple of slides)... There's also some BBq spots... not bad for outdoor fun & exercise with family. The only problem is parking. Its quite pack on weeknends like most park. that's y we come here on weekdays, so my husband can play basketball and my baby can enjoy at the playgrounds.... read more

This skate park is poorly maintained. Chicks in Bowls San Jose- Ca has adopted this skate park for this reason. We meet weekly to maintain the cleanliness. It has a decent bowl and could use some improvements. It is a bit slippery but if it is swept beforehand then it is smooth to skate on. read more

This park is really nice & BIG! It has a skate park for those people who skate. There's a playground for kids with swings & slides and tanbark, makes me feel like i'm back in 3rd grade again! They have a well maintained restrooms & working water fountains and they have plenty of parking around the park and behind the bridge in the neighborhood. The BEST part of this park is the basketball courts. There's 2 full courts side by side and the nets are always good. I only come here once in a while to play some morning ball with a bunch of random Filipinos on one court and a bunch of random Mexicans on the other. LOL! If you trying to find a place to play some hoops, come 7am Saturdays & you'll get to run! read more

This park definitely is different from most of the other ones in the area. First & foremost, the skatepark. Not many--no other parks here have one. It's decent sized, enough to fit a variety of skaters, bikers, etc. Gets pretty intense sometimes. And yes, it gets really crowded depending on the time of year, or the time of day you happen to visit. The playground is weird. I haven't been here since probably early 2007, but I remember it was VERY child-safe. It was almost as if it wasn't a playground, but a safety environment. One distinct thing I remember was this inverse seesaw. It wasn't like a lever that went up on one side, down on the other. It was just in the shape of a V. I guess? Good walking trails, needs more basketball spaces, a few BBQ pits, the typical. But I'm surprised no one has touched on the area of this park. It's NOT as cut out as most people think. The park itself is at the corner of two busy streets in ESSJ--McKee & King. There isn't a parking lot for your car, so you have to park where you could find it. If you bring kids, keep them away from the streets or away from the kids who are up to no good. This location has high-crime written all over it. Proceed with caution, but have fun. (: read more

This park is pretty cool. I've been coming here ever since I was like around 5, and now I'm 14. I do have lots of sad memories here. I say that because I literally had no one at all to play with. At the time I only had mom and dad. And, other stuff has gone down here before too. And well, it does have tons of graffiti. And it sure does smell like weed all the time. I just recommend that your bring your kids early in the morning. Because well it's empty and theres only like 2 or maybe 4 people but that's it. It gets really packed later like at 3:00 to 7:00. And yeah the graffiti removal thing that was suppose to happen the past year never happened. It's still the same. read more

This park is pretty cool for the kids to learn on before they graduate to street skating and lake Cunningham park. True it is kind of trashy but the location kind of lends itself to this style. Lots of BMXers, scooterers, and people rolling around on anything with wheels. The bowl is cool with some good lines and mellow transition. Good for old people and also the very young. I saw this little kid killing it and doing tiny airs and roll ins. He will be shredding by the time he's 10 maybe a future Caballero. Some of the kids seem kind of gangsta but they don't participate they just hang out around the perimeter fronting all tough-like. read more

This is an awesome park located in East San Jose. There is a nice sized playground for the kids with swings, slides and a bunch of things to climb on. For the older teenage crowd, there have a really dope skatepark. It's usually full of kids but I've never seen them be disrespectful to any passerbys. There is also a couple basketball courts, large grass area and plenty of seating for us adults. If you come in the late afternoon/early evening, you will find snack/drink carts setup. Come out and see what all this hype is about. read more

I honestly think this is that sick's skatepark for bmxers lots for lines, hips, some ledges a step up . I really think this park is very fun. u really got to think out the box to really have fun there. I always have met really cool ppl there. yes its a little ghetto and there are gangs that hang out there. but the park is worth it I think. its a little smooth so ur tires mite slide out sometimes. very hot in summers because its san jose read more

great place to walk my dog thus the many check ins. the playground used to be alot nicer when i was a kid. lots of b-ball players still, asian old ladies exercising bright and early, and lots of skaters playing in the litle skate hole. my sister loves the mexican man with the chips and corn. she gets it every time she comes along. read more

This park has several attractions. It's one of the few parks in the county with a merry-go-round, and it has a skatepark. Hopefully some bleeding-heart limousine-liberal won't read this and have these yanked on the pretext of affording the same sanitized-for-your-protection experience offered at other parks in better neighborhoods. The skatepark is pretty darn good. There's peanut-shaped bowl that's 8-ft deep and a ton of other features. Expect graffiti (it tends to get cleaned up pretty fast, but there's always some there), litter, guys smoking pot behind the bathroom, and the occasional used condom (my wife says she's seen streetwalkers there, but I haven't). It can be crowded, but skate culture is pretty accepting of people with different levels of talent. Most people there are usually in the 13-23 bracket. There were a bunch there yesterday in the 7-13 range, which can be a bit tough--their social graces aren't as advanced as their physical ones. My son's younger, and he finds spots out of traffic. Young folks should come right after school before HS lets out. Weekend mornings before the teenagers wake up is also a good time. read more

My 6 year old son and I arrived on a Friday at about 7pm in early August. A friend at work had recommended the skate park because the design was really cool. Upon arrival to the park I found an overload of people, trash, a couple of BMXers, but mostly skaters. The design of the park is pretty amazing in that there is so much packed into such a small space. Hence, the word small. With so many people all flying around at once the crowds made it really hard to get any time in skating. While one of the BMXers was doing tricks one of the skaters began to heckle the BMXers for whatever reason. Within minutes the situation escalated to a fight across the street - a group of 10+ running across the street with a few of the guys literally beating on the BMXer. That was our time to exit. Parking is really hard, but the park design makes it worth checking out. read more
