One of the many picnic areas in the park !!

What gem in the middle of San Jose!!!Emma Prusch Farm Park was a wonderful surprise. We were here for my grandson's birthday party and I'm sorry to say I've lived in the Bay Area for more than 35 years and I'm ashamed to say I've never been here before. If you want a clean , beautiful, and a great park for kids this is the place. There are live farm animals , and lots of play areas. If just want to decompress and get away from the stress this is the place. I'm so thankful that I've discovered what a great area we live in!!!!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the park was packed. Each picnic area was reserved for family parties and get togethers. At the time that we visited, there was also a traveling ticketed horse acrobatics show that took place at the back of the park, I believe. Definitely the perfect place to take if you have kids and if they love playgrounds. I like how this playground is super unique and not the generic copy paste ones that you see at a lot of other California parks. The giant hen that you can climb in, the baby chicks with rock climbing ledges, and the eggs on bouncy springs were great design choices that wonderfully match the theming. Hats off to whoever designed the park, honestly. And to keep the chicken theme going on, there's lots of wandering chickens and roosters in the park. There are some in the fenced off area, but there are lots wandering around the bushes and towards the parking lot. They have their own water trays, so they're well taken care of I'm sure. In addition to the playground, there's also metal musical large tube chimes and sound drums that you can play around with, as well as other accessible and interactive parts of the playground. You can walk around the large circle of the park with the grassy middle part with lots of families flying kites and playing soccer. Along the path, you can see their barn. I believe it was closed currently so not many animals are visible but there are other days where they have events and shows there I'm sure (seeing the benches and the "stage" area that they had). I was able to see some pigs and goats but based on what I've seen, there should be other animals as well (turkeys, bunnies, ducks, etc.). Along the path, there's also a Friendship Grove with lots of plants from around the world (though many were dried out due to it being the summer) and a fruit orchard. Lots of shady areas to sit in and a good breeze when we were there. Not a bad park overall.

What an amazing looking addition to the park. It was a bit disappointing the website didn't seem to mention the animals aren't available. We did see a collection of chickens!! The diaper changing station is the reason for the missing star. Stained and in bad shape. I recommend using a diaper mat. That's what he did.

Emma Prusch Farm Park is an amazing public park with a bit playground and farm animals. My wife found this place as we planned a trip to Santa Cruz, sort as a 1/2 way pit stop if the kids had too much energy. The kids loved it, right away we were greeted by peahens and roosters in the parking lot. The playground area is huge, several structures for kids of most ages. Our older son went crazy while our 1 year old played on the swings and climbing areas. The farm animals sections are cool, a staff member spent the time to tell our son the names and ages of the animals. The goat area is fun, we got to see them during feeding time. We had a lot of fun and want to return.

It so happened that on 05/04 Cinco de Mayo festivities were happening at Emma Prusch farm park. Many surround roads had closure and no parking space left. We lucked out and found something at O'Reilleu on Lido Way and the Pal Stadium Parking lot. We enjoyed the playground despite the huge crowds and loud music. We had our niece who is currently battling brain cancer so we wanted a quieter environment for her to play but it worked out okay. She was overly stimulated as we had feared. We enjoyed a beautiful day at the playground and got to check out Cinco se Mayo event as well.

Such a cute farm in the middle of San Jose! The park is spacious and has so many animals to see. Pigs, goats, chickens. There's plenty of shades, tables and benches to choose from. We saw plenty of vendors selling snacks and drinks. The park rangers look after the space so well. Free parking. Dog friendly. A lot of food options right across the street. Along with Target store!

Great park with a working farm. There's seating located around the playground and bathroom facilities across. Nice big field to play ball, fly a kite and clean pathway to bike. A solid playground if you're in the area.

We had grabbed some coffee and snacks. I wanted to go to a park to enjoy a small picnic and randomly found this park. Parking is free. We spotted peacocks near the entrance. There are several picnic areas. We sat down and a few large chickens started coming toward us. The 46 acre agricultural based park also has a livestock barn and community gardens. We didn't really walk around to explore. The playground was under construction, but it looked awesome. Overall, it seems to be a great place for families.

Such an amazing park in San Jose, last time I came here was maybe 2 years ago. Came back here on a Saturday and wow they really did some great renovations, they added brand new bathrooms and a big chicken play area. It's always been such a nice park to come whenever I'm in SJ to bring my kids. They love playing and looking at the animals, specially the chickens roaming throughout.

A unique park for sure! The barnyard design and theme of the kids playground, the spacious and open grass area, the many picnic tables and bbq pits, farm animals to visit for free, icecream for sale on site, gardens, historic landmarks, plenty of parking... one of the best parks San Jose has to offer! Was kind of sad though that the slides are made of tin or metal, so the kids weren't able to slide on any of them because of the heat!

This is a wonderful place to take the kids. There are animals to see here, including wild peacocks and pens which hold chickens, pigs and more. The animals on certain days you can see until 4 pm which then the gate is locked up. Be aware of the timing as there's a playground and the kids might have so much fun playing there, they forget about the wonderful animals. My kid had a great time at the playground where there is a lot to see and roam around. There's a cute wooden chicken structure and uphill areas to climb with ropes or slide down. There is a steep drum section (didn't see any drumsticks to use..) and cool quirky things like a wind up big toy that plays old McDonald has a farm when you wind it up. Great place for a picnic and enjoy the playground with animals nearby!

Ask the Community - Emma Prusch Farm Park

Are there spouts to fill up water balloons?

Balloons aren't allowed at the park because the chickens could eat them

Are we allowed to pet the cows/livestock or is that frowned upon?

Most animals are out in the open to interact with but good luck getting close enough to pet them. They do have feeders where you can buy food to feed the animals with for 25¢

Unfortunately, the experience quickly changed due to the rude behavior from the owners. During our visit, the owner yelled at the children - YELLED. This video is just a small example of what happened. There were multiple instances where both the man and his wife raised their voices not only at the kids, but also at the parents. While the children still managed to have fun, the overall environment felt stressful and uncomfortable for many of us. We understand that managing large groups of young kids can be challenging, but the way the situation was handled made what should have been a positive field trip feel uneasy and disappointing.

This was our first trip to G&M Farms in Livermore and it was incredibly special and actually quite the fun surprise off the freeway. As we were about to pass Livermore, we saw signage and oodles of fun happening for G&M Farms so we pulled off. There is so much to do here! You can grab a red Radio Flyer wagon and truly go hunting for the perfect pumpkin within the patch itself, or if you're on the hunt for more smaller pumpkins/gourds there is a whole gift shop/farm store that is so incredibly cute for basically every pumpkin vibe you can imagine. Plenty of spots to stop and take pictures with friends or family. There's a corn maze, drinks/snacks like mini donuts, popcorn, and corn dogs, and speaking of corn..oh-em-gee! Truly wanted to share a review for this reason alone. Looking for a sensory activity for your little? There is not a sandbox, but a giant CORN box for play. The adults also tried it (essentially we just put our feet in and it felt surprisingly really nice. Something unexpected and truly unique, fun, and interactive. We also noticed a few other activities on the pumpkin patch side like a tractor/train ride and I'm not sure if there was a petting zoo? Regardless, worth a trip if you haven't made your pumpkin haul yet. Plenty of room for strollers and very spread out. Can't wait to make the corn box an annual tradition. Looking forward to truly enjoying the patch next year with more time. Thank you G&M Farms for the memories! Still finding little corn kernels ;)
