I'll reiterate not the perfect park. Doesn't have restrooms or benches and understandably an under construction/closed off playground. It's a good size to lap around if you can find street parking around the perimeter but there's not much to see after you reach its midpoint dirt mound.

This park isn't perfect, but having 3 tennis courts that are individually sectioned off, is a winner in my book! Overall it is one of the more spacious parks in San Jose, as it sits on 26.6 acres. Pros: * 3 Tennis Courts * HUGE open grass area * Basketball Court * Sand Volleyball Court * Softball Field * Exercise Course * Youth Playground Cons: * Street parking only * No restrooms * No Tennis Court lights * No BBQ Pits As you can see, the only crucial piece missing is a restroom. Other than that, the rest of the list can be classified as petty! Conclusion: Great park, great for sports, and just a nice open area to lounge! "I'LL BE BACK!"

Great memories here. I've been here since 2001 and it's always nostalgic feels. Parking They're all street parking. If there isn't a party or fireworks, parking should be good. Feels Great place to play ball or go running. There's a hill if you really want an elevated workout. The view of the city is pretty nice. Overall In my books 4 stars. Great view and safe vibes. Do come with a friend and pepper spray if you do plan to go at night (you never know)!

I come here several times a week to walk. Because some parts of the walking trail are hilly, I really do feel like I'm getting a good workout. I also love the views from the top of the hill. It's beautiful to watch the sunset over San Jose with the mountains in the background. One of the other neat areas of the park is this large open field which is great for playing catch, soccer, frisbee, football, etc. This is in addition to the tennis courts, playground, volleyball area, and basketball half-court that are already there. Unfortunately, this park does have it's fair share of not-so-pretty parts... There's graffiti on some of the picnic tables and pathways; in other areas there are beer bottles and trash left sitting around (which is why I wouldn't recommend hanging around here once it gets dark). There's always dog poop throughout the park so watch your step! I mean, it's nice that the park is open to pets but really, people need to clean up after their pets. I'd love to be able to focus more on enjoying my walk and less on turd-dodging. Another thing I don't like is that there's no bathroom. Usually, because of all the negatives, I'd give a place like this 3-stars. But I really like this park. It's a nice, scenic place that has many functions and the downsides aren't so bad as to stop me from going.

Cute park! BF and I had a dim sum picnic here with the pups, and then took a hike around the grounds. Great place to burn off some calories. This park features a little bit of everything: - a walking trail and exercise course - a tennis court area (with 3 courts) - 1 basketball court - 1 volleyball court - a soccer field - 2 kiddie playgrounds - LOTS of squirrels - lots of grassy shaded areas - great panoramic views on the hill - and a poop bag station (pet friendly park)

"Groesbeck Hill Park is 26.6 acres, has no restroom, has 9 picnic tables, 2 playgrounds, one basketball court, one tennis court, one soccer filed, a volleyball court, and an exercise course" This park is a great exercise and physical park. The steep hills of the trails and hills are a great way to burn off some calories after eating on Tully Road. At sunset, you can watch the sun set over the Santa Cruz Mountains with a nice view overlooking Downtown San Jose and beyond. July 4th here is very nice and you can see 20 different fireworks shows here at a time.

Cute park that overlooks the silicon valley. This is a great part to take a loved one or some friends for a nice evening to watch the sun set over the Santa Cruz hills and the evening casting on the valley below. We went here for fourth of July and you can see all the fireworks from Downtown San Jose to as far as Mountain view. Its also amazing to see how many people set off fireworks from their street or backyard. When you get there, you'll have to climb a small hill and the view will open up. In summertime the hill can be a bit dry.

Great trail for both running/walking. With some pretty good incline. Perfect for short morning runs. Glad I stumbled upon this hidden little park

    very cool old pine tree.

The playground feels creative and thoughtfully designed, with different areas for different ages and energy levels. I really liked that it does not feel like a basic playground. There are fun structures, open space, places to sit, and a friendly atmosphere where kids can stay busy for a long time. It is also nice that the park feels welcoming and easy to enjoy for children with different abilities. Another thing I appreciate is that on certain days they organize different activities for children, such as small events, games, quests, and fun little challenges. It makes the park feel more alive and gives families an extra reason to come back, not just for the playground but also for the experience. The kids get excited because there is always something new to discover, and parents can relax knowing the place is active, safe, and family oriented. Overall, it is a great spot in San Jose for a simple walk, outdoor play, and a fun day with children.

What kind of park has a zipline?!? THIS ONE. Two seating options, one with a harness for toddlers,…read morethe other for older kids (I even saw adults using this). The park also offers a fun and inclusive space for children, with climbing structures, sturdy cement slides, swings for both toddlers and older youth, a see-saw, merry-go-round, trampoline, and spongy material making up the ground's surface. The occasional squirrel, lizard, and butterfly too. As an adult simply looking for a place to relax while waiting for my car at an auto shop nearby, I was pleasantly surprised to find this park accommodating. Dirt and concrete trails weaving through the garden, lovely vegetation in spring, and a good amount of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Also, a shady area with fake grass and seats made out of smoothed-out logs and tree trunks, as well as adirondack chairs where I was able to hang out and nap while I was there. It wasn't too crowded or crazy on a Friday morning, though it got busier as it neared noon time. In addition, the place offers a parking lot and clean restrooms for convenience.

Located inside Balboa Park, you can tour the museums in the area, but don't forget to stop and take a moment to smell the flowers at the Japanese Friendship Garden... There were so many beautiful birds, butterflies, koi, and plants I've never seen before. The grounds were very clean and well manicured. Pricing to get in was about $60 for a family of 4 (including student pricing for our children) which may be a bit steep if you have young children with thin patience.. however, if you are able to come in and find your Zen for a couple hours, this is the spot to do so. They offer free crafts for visitors- when we were there they were doing an origami workshop, which seemed very fun. However, our kids weren't up For it- so we did not participate. America's Best Rose Garden Run by Volunteers!!!…read more This is a beautiful 5.5-acre rose garden officially recognized as "America's Best Rose Garden." It features over 3,500 shrubs and around 200 varieties, with about 75% being hybrid teas. The garden has an interesting history: it was once a prune orchard purchased by the San Jose City Council in 1927, thanks to advocacy from the Santa Clara County Rose Society. Today, it also serves as an official All-America Rose Selections (AARS) display garden, where new award-winning rose varieties are tested before public release. The layout is classic and park-like, with a two-tiered fountain and mature, decades-old trees that add to the atmosphere. Some standout roses that I enjoy, include: * Rosa 'Handel' (climbing rose): Soft pink, slightly ruffled blooms that look great climbing fences or arches. Light fragrance, subtle but nice up close. * 'Camille Pissarro': Super eye-catching striped petals in pink, red, yellow, and cream. Looks like a painting. Mild scent. * "Make Me Blush" (hybrid tea): Clean, soft blush-pink rose with a neat classic shape. Light, gentle fragrance. * "Perfect Moment" (hybrid tea): Very polished, classic rose form with rich color and that "traditional rose" look. Noticeable floral scent. * "Double Delight": Creamy white with red edges that deepen in the sun. Each bloom looks a bit different. Strong, sweet spicy fragrance: one of the most fragrant ones there. A pleasant surprise is that the garden is entirely volunteer-run. Volunteers actively work to preserve heritage roses, even rescuing and propagating rare varieties from old cemeteries, abandoned homesteads, and rural roadsides. Practical info: * Parking: free street parking with no time limit * Hours: daily, 8am to 30 minutes after sunset * Restrooms: available (clean, basic, and well-stocked) * Dogs: not allowed * Yoga: permitted if non-commercial * Alcohol: not permitted * Photography: casual photography and picnics are free, but professional shoots require a $100 permit Overall, it's a peaceful, well-maintained garden with both botanical depth and historical character, especially enjoyable for rose enthusiasts or anyone looking for a quiet walk among carefully preserved varieties.
