This was a fun and unique experience! The bar is set up like a train in the 1920s and all the decor makes it believable. The "windows" change scenery as if you're really driving by in a train. I ordered the non-alcoholic Son of a Beecher and really enjoyed it. Our waiter was very friendly. I wish they had more food and non-alcoholic options. This was a fun experience to try but I don't know if I would come back regularly - you should try it once though at least!

A must try in Phoenix. Decorated as a Pullman train car; they really put their all into the experience. Jay was our bartender and took great care. Taught about the drinks and had extensive knowledge of the menu and recommendations. The drinks are good and mixed well. The lobster toast is necessary. Great for family or a date night. Check it out.

Great spot and experience! The service here is always top tier and the drinks are amazing. The servers do a great job describing the drinks and the spot makes you feel like you are taken back in time and riding a train! Definitely hits on their theme! We love platform 18 and the small bar outside the train car as well. We will definitely be back again!

Last night we took a trip to 1925 Manhattan and never left Phoenix. This was our second visit to the unique bar experience that is Platform 18. It is one of 3 themed bars at this location. This one is a recreation of a train traveling through changing scenery. This trip was 1925 Manhattan including the old For Model T trains that are showing on the screens that act as windows outside the train car moving by as if you were traveling including the sounds of the engine and whistle. The drinks are very creative. As I have been staying away from Alcohol lately, the even had Non Alcohol drinks like my Son of a Beecher made with Dutch East India Trading Spiced Gin, Cynar, Yuzu, Ginger, Strawberry, Pineapple, Lemon, Sanpellegrino Prickly Pear zero abv. It was a fantastic drink that you could enjoy slowly as my other 3 guest were thrilled with their Adult beverages. My Associate which is a Bourbon Old Fashion. You get a glass with a large cube but empty. Shortly after an "Associate" comes by and takes a container out of their pocket to provide the banned alcohol of prohibition era. This theater creates a lot of fun. Another is the Paparazzi which is complete with an old fashion bulb camera going off as they appear to be taking a star's picture. The menu changes periodically as does the accompanying theater but it is a very intimate environment and a very clever spot for a date or just getting together with come friends for a different experience. It is reservation only and you get a limited amount of time but our 90 minutes flew by and was time for 3 drinks (and maybe some ice cream). Our previous trip was a winter in CO scenery. The service, atmosphere and creativity makes this a great experience.

Take a step in old town New York Train station at Platform 18... Tip top service. Exquisite ambience and delicious side treats with your drinks. If you like era ambiences, come check out all sides of Century Grand...but this particular review is Platform 18. Great bar and table seating. A cocktail spot you must try out.... Thank you Century Grand and all future visits...

We visited Platform 18 back in August (2025). My friend made a reservation for us. It's $12/person and the deposit is used towards the bill. Upon entering, we were transported to the Roaring 20s and it felt like we were actually riding on a train. We were seated at the bar which is where I prefer to sit. Our bartender for the evening was Remington. The menu is pretty extensive. Remington explained the layout of the menu and was great at making suggestions based on our preferences. Some of the drinks we ordered came with snacks which let me know that our selections were more spirit forward. The snacks of course complimented the flavors of the cocktails very well. I started with Beware the Papparazzi. It's a vodka based cocktail that had a sweet, tart, yet balanced taste. It also came with a surprise that I won't spoil. I also had The Film Star which is essentially a Vesper. It was good, but extremely boozy! It came with caramel popcorn. The sweet and saltiness of the popcorn complimented the drink well. Great drinks and a great vibe! Platform 18 was one of my favorite bars that I visited during my trip and I will definitely be back the next time I visit Phoenix.

I've been eyeing this place up for quite some time & had a friend visiting so it was the perfect time to experience Platform 18. I booked us a reservation a couple weeks out for 9pm on a Saturday night, it did require a deposit of around $15 pp to be take off our final bill. We arrived about 10 minutes early and seating got a bit tight as others started to also wait & grab drinks at Grey Hen. We didn't have to wait too long after our reservation time before being let in. Once inside it truly felt magical and like a real life train ride. The windows took us through New York City and it did feel a bit shaky like we were actually moving. The drinks were very creative & delicious. I enjoyed their take on an espresso martini & how each cocktail came with a fun treat. The only downside was the amount of space, it's definitely close quarters to those around you. Overall it was still a great time & I'd come back again. A great spot to show visitors for sure!

What we ordered: Drinks: Sparkling wine The magician The musician The Oracle (cold one) Banana pudding 21 hours to Louisville Food: Sundays in June (ice cream) George Washington carver (ice cream) First timer here what a great vibe decor is very nice with a elegant feel and I was shocked how spacious it actually was especially the back area for large groups like us, service a tad slow but super friendly staff and helpful, creative drinks and handmade ice cream is done here the ice cream is super yummy you really can tell it is hand made super soft and flavorful and wasn't aware it was spiked till my friend mentioned it dope, gotta mention how soft the seats here are as well the couches are niceee def will come again

Really cool place! They change up the theme every few months and make it feel so realistic! I felt like I was on a train and enjoyed the fun drinks and little treats that came with some of them. Loved the dessert as well! We've been here twice and service was great both times. Make sure you make reservations!

This place is gorgeous. While waiting, you'll be seated (transported even) into a Chinatown style bar scene. Food in the window, dine lit lamps, trees, lanterns... It's amazing. It's called M. E. Lee's and is next to the train (which will sound it's horn so be aware of that as it's quite loud. Once on the train, it's a tight fit. But the Christmas decor was very cute. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and described most of the menu to us. Each drink seems to come with some fun twist or garnish, and I appreciate that more than the drinks themselves sometimes haha. But don't worry, the drinks were excellent. A lot of themed bars have weird combos, but we had 8 drinks and they were all delicious. As much as I'd love to spoil some of the cool drinks, I think it's better left for your own experience. Please check it out!!

Don't remember the name but the ice cream cone was earl grey tea cotton candy. It was delicious

Went out for drinks before dinner and this is a neat place to go because it's almost like a little too easy inside of a restaurant. It's designed like you're on a train and I happen to love trains. The theme on this train trip was Harlem in the 1920s. The bartenders we talked to were really friendly and helped us on drink decisions. They did a great job recommending drinks based on our preferences. We also got some snackable appetizers.

My husband and I went to Platform 18 for our anniversary and had such a great experience. The entire concept is so unique and immersive. From the moving scenery outside the windows to the lighting, music, and vintage train theme. It really feels like you're traveling somewhere else for a little while. The drinks were also really good and well made. I'm not normally a big hard alcohol person, but the cocktails were smooth, creative, and easy to enjoy. The staff was friendly and the whole atmosphere made for such a fun night out. Definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time because it's popular for a reason. Such a cool spot for a date night or special occasion in Phoenix!

We had a wonderful time at Platform 18. It was an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it. Reservations are required and the time allotted is 90 minutes. We arrived a few minutes early and were guided to the train car. There was a lot to take in in te most positive way. We were seated at the bar and I was not disappointed because it gave us the opportunity to chat with the bartender. The drink menu is extensive, but she asked us what we liked , what kind of cocktail we liked and if we like sweet, sour etc. and her recommendations were spot on. The train ride is to New York in the 1920's. I started with the Accapella - a gin drink with peach and hibiscus served with cotton candy. It was a blend of botanical gin combined with peach. My husband started with the 21 hours to Louisville - buffalo trace with mint. Next was the Beware of Paparazzi - which came with paparazzi snapping photos of us !!! The drink was a strawberry, lemon vodka drink with a touch of paprika, another great choice. My husband had the Associate . I ended with the Coffee Con Cubana a coffee drink accompanied with a chocolate cigar. They do have a few snack selections. This was such a fun experience, the 90 minutes flew by and all of the drinks were excellent.

Ask the Community - Platform 18 at Century Grand

    How is the dress code?

It's more of a trendy, upscale type of speakeasy. Very Great Gatsby vibe here. I'd say definitely on the nicer side, but again, you'll see a wide range of outfits probably.

What if you just really dislike a drink? Will they switch it or you just have to pay another $20 for another option?

It happened to me. They were very nice about it. You don't have to pay $20 for a new one.

So if I wanted to have dinner can I have it at this location or do I make a reservation at the other restaurant?

Platform 18 does not serve food. But if you want to there's a really nice Japanese restaurant in walking distance. It's so wonderful

Is platform 18 good for dinner?? Or just more of a cocktail party atmosphere?

I'd say cocktails only. In the same location they had a restaurant of some sorts, but it's separate from Platform 18.

Can you accommodate those with Celiacs? Do you have gluten free drinks on the menu?

I did not see any specific drinks that mentioned "gluten free"

How many weeks that you guys open for reservation in advance? I'm trying to book for the 3rd week of Nov but only saw the availability up to Nov 2nd. Thanks!

If your party is 1-6 people you can book 7 days out. If your party is 7+ then you can book 14 days out. It's on their website.…

Which seats are the BEST?!?! I can go with 2 or 4 or 5 or 8, but would hate to go with 6, pay for a small couch and think that I should have went with 4 at a Large Booth.

Hi Jose, It depends on how many guests you plan on inviting to enjoy your experience. For a party of two I, always recommend enjoying a seat at the bar. If you're looking…

Do they happen to serve mocktails? I'll have two pregnant ladies in my group that would love to have the experience but can't partake!

    They do indeed!

How do you make a reservation at century grand for the restaurant part of it?

Hi Tina, Our restaurant at Century Grand permanently closed in March due to COVID-19 closures. We are only operating cocktail bar concepts in this space and offer boozy ice…

Can you wear jeans to Platform 18?

I wore jeans last night and didn't get a complaint about wardrobe.

Does the reservation fee online and tip go toward purchases or is that fee simply to reserve and we get nothing? I wasn't sure since that isn't super clear on the website.

Hi Victoria, The reservation fee is credited to the final bill. This is stated in the bullet…

What are the odds two people get seated in Platform room as walk-ins? No reservations available 🙁

    Highly unlikely

Looked all day yesterday to make reservations the 7th was blocked couldn't make reservations all? Now this morning at 730, everything is booked. How and the hell is that possible?

Hello! We open up reservations 7 days in advance at 4pm daily. Today is Wednesday; therefore at 4pm today, reservations for next Wednesday opened up. We have limited seating for both experiences we offer, therefore both dinner reservations for…

Extremely frustrated trying to make a reservation for 3 people. Any suggestions?

You can't put a reservation in longer than 7 days prior. I had to keep trying. The minute 6 days and 23 hours came up, I could get my reservation in. They only let you do it by texting them, which is such an awful way to do it! Try texting…

What time are reservations for the following week released? I read midnight but as of 12:15am nothing is showing?

Why can I not make a reservation for an uneven amount of people?? If we walk-in as a party of 3 will we be turned away as well?

    Odd is normal

We have been trying to make online reservations for my friends birthday on January 5 at Platform 18 but it is saying that reservations are not taken that far in advance? Is there a timeline as to how far in advance you can make reservations?

Hi Terri Yes you can make reservations for Platform 18 up to 7 days in advance. OpenTable released a new reservation day every evening at midnight. This evening reservations…

How would it work if we wanted to do drinks and then dinner? Do you make a reservation for the train car and then again for dinner?

Hi Britteny Yes that is correct you would need two separate reservations. If you want to do the train first you should make a 5:30 reservation followed by a 7 o’clock dinner…

Are you able to order other drinks other than what is in the cocktail menu in Platform 18? Like can I order Champagne? Also, are you able to leave before the 90 minutes is up?

Hello! While the cocktail menu on the train is limited to The Man Behind the Curtain cocktail book, you can order champagne and other wines. A list is coming soon but our wine…

What is the average price of a meal?

They fo not have meals served here. You would need the restaurant which is separate. Drinks range from $8-$100.

Upon walking in, the place was packed and we stood in line at the bar for standing room only. The bartenders were friendly and the cocktail list was pretty interesting. Both of the drinks we got off the menu were bitter and NOT sweet, which is bad news for me cause I love a sweet drink! lol The bartender was able to make me a lychee mojito after I asked specifically for any flavored syrups they had. She was very sweet to check what flavors they have and gave me several different options. My boyfriend got some whiskey and they gave a hefty pour. What we didn't realize at the time was that we had stumbled upon one of those dishes that would stick with us! So when Liquor Pig closed, we were genuinely sad to see it go, but then delighted to learn that the same chef was spearheading Wayward and, most importantly, that the legendary bone marrow poutine made its way onto the new menu. And thankfully, it's still just as memorable! The bone marrow is incredibly luscious, rich, and decadent, and the whole dish is the perfect indulgent pairing for Wayward's creative cocktails. The portion is also a great size for two people to share, especially since it's definitely a rich dish. We also tried the Jaew Chicken which was tasty and definitely a little different from what I'd normally order. It was a nice addition to the meal, but honestly, the poutine is the reason we'll keep coming back to this place! While walking through the restaurant, I noticed quite a few tables enjoying the bone in short rib taco board and those portions are serious. That platter could easily feed four people, so it's definitely something to keep in mind if you're dining with a group. All in all, I'm happy that Wayward has kept one of my favorite dishes from the Liquor Pig days alive. If you're looking for creative cocktails with something rich and indulgent to snack on, do yourself a favor and order the bone marrow poutine!
