He had some beautiful cars out there in fantastic shape. I was looking for a trans am and he had three of them, they were all gorgeous and in perfect shape. Luther is very personable and friendly and knowledgeable. He knew just about everything about the cars he had there. He was not pushy or aggressive just very helpful. I finally decided on the car I wanted and we struck a deal. He even gave me the name of his mechanic in Burlington that works on classic cars. I am very happy with my purchase I'm very happy with Luther and the whole buying experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for a classic car you can't go wrong. Recently purchase and had shipped from the lot near Seattle to Albuquerque an pricey early 70s…read moremuscle car from this car lot and the owner who verbally claims over the phone that he has a good reputation. Well, perhaps he doesn't care to keep up that reputation. These are the pure facts-I have all of the invoices and quotes in hand. Before I bought it, over the phone the owner said the A/C was working. Not true. A/C was not working-blowing hot air when it arrived and the compressor belt was seizing up. Put in new compressor-$700. Now just barely working but essentially useless. My mechanic says the only way to get it working is to purchase an aftermarket full AC kit-parts/labor-$2500. When I called him about this he gave the lame excuse that AC is not really used much in the Pacific NW-I know-I lived in Portland OR for 12 years but this excuse is just a red herring. The battery was rated for up to 7 years-when the car arrived date on it confirmed it was 7.5 years old. It died within a week of receiving the car while I was driving it. $175 to replace. The windshield wipers were misaligned and not functioning fully. This car was in the Pacific NW where it rains regularly. Parts and Labor $175. The driver's side lock did not work and had to be removed and rekeyed. $100 The carburetor was in terrible shape and the car kept stalling-had to do a full rebuild-$400. The manual clutch was very, very loose and at end of life and the clutch assembly needed to be replaced-$700. In short, it appears he is running a business selling older cars THAT REQUIRE some sort of checklist when he brings them in. Yet appears there is little to none QA-quality assurance. How can that possibly be? He actually said he didn't know about the door lock not working. Again, how can that be-the car was just left unlocked the whole time it was in his possession? In closing, it is abundantly clear that he is running a shady ship here and he misrepresented his product in this case in a severe way. Further he implied I should have no issues about these issues since he discounted the price for me. Again, another red herring, a non-starter. That is called negotiating! No one held a gun to his head and made him do this deal. In the end, this turned out to be a borderline nightmare-I am still dealing with issues on this over 3 months later. So far I am almost $2500 into this for fixes with another $2500 needed for the AC kit install. All of this point to the only conclusion that one can arrive at: the company is run by a shyster.

We parked in front of the showroom and assumed that the parts department would be around the side - but which side? We went to the right, which was the wrong move. A salesperson and two other representatives immediately came out of the showroom to ask if we needed help finding something - the approach made it feel like we were up to no good and they were checking up on us. They pointed us in the right direction, which is through the showroom. It turns out that there is a side entrance - from the left side. The parts guy was helpful, but he wanted to charge a huge markup on a roll of tape... $82! For reference, this can be found online from other Honda dealers for about $45. He suggested that the high price was fair because we can have it today! We managed to talk him down to $65, which is still high, but we got it that day. On the way out, one of the sales guys complimented our old Model S, which was appreciated. Thoughts overall - the employee to customer ratio was probably 5:1, the initial interaction was a turnoff, and the price gouging isn't going to win any repeat business. On the positive side, and to be totally fair, the dealership was clean, the cars on the lot were staged well and clean, the parts department had some neat swag, the restrooms were nice and the location is convenient.

The paperwork was a lot and I mean a lot. But I don't think you can get away from that these days. I did end up buying the extended warranty just because of all the electronics for a little over like $4,000 which is again a lot to add on top of the price of the vehicle. I just cannot believe a car cost $50,000 these days. That's not the dealer's fault. I do think the detail job could have been a little better so hopefully when I come back for my first oil change and the installation of my tow hitch I could maybe get another little detail situation because there's a lot of streaking and such on the car. But overall very happy with the process and the people that I don't with.

The waiting room is comfortable, and they don't waste any time doing the oil changes, which is nice after the experiences I've had at the Toyota dealer across the street. I also really appreciate the video they send out showing the undercarriage of my car, and the coupon for a free car wash. I will continue to have both of my families Subaru's serviced at Dwayne Lane's. My review is mainly on the service garage at Dwayne Lane's Skagit Subaru, due to the fact that I ended up buying my 2025 Subaru in Bellingham, Dwayne Lane's had the exact model I was looking for but sold it before I got there to but it. Dewey Griffen Subaru in Bellingham had the same car and held it for me until I made it up to buy it three days later. One of the reasons why we purchased another Subaru over a Toyota is the stellar service we receive at Dwayne Lane's Skagit Subaru, compared to the nearby Toyota dealer. Thank you for being there for us.

This was the first time in my car buying experience that I wasn't meant to feel guilty or bad for not purchasing package items on top of the already expensive vehicle. Sam was straight forward with me. Explained everything in detail, and worked with me on what I wanted and what I wanted to spend and those limits. We also had good conversations about each others lives during this exchange which I appreciated. And I say appreciated because it didn't feel like a tactic to "befriend" and then sell more in a now friendly situation. It was genuine. So this review is more about the man I purchased from rather than the car itself... a vehicle is a vehicle, the experience of buying it was what was worth it to me. Then guess what, they gave me the wrong key, was told id get a correct key soon. Weeks went by. Nothing. Key man ghosted us. I call auto track, talked to Jeff, he said "all you like to do is argue." No, if that was the case i would have been calling you way before 2 plus weeks had lapsed. I called once, you argued and said you "finished the job" and for me to "just put the key on a key ring, it doesn't need to go IN the key fob." You promised me a working key that FITS in my key fob. And said many times "its only $50...Its not that big of a deal." Then why are you making it a big deal?? Its just a $50 key fob! Stay away from this business. This was only 10% of my really bad experience here. I saw the reviews and was like, its cant be THAT bad.... Its that bad. Lol he also wont stop texting means calling me now that he wants to SUDDENLY fix my key issue after i said i dont want to wreck his google ratings. Nope. Sorry bud i gave you a chance. He also said "its okay, ill report it to google and say you're lying about everything." Lolol then why are all the other bad reviews still up??? Read my past google reviews. Im not a karen. I usually leave very positive reviews for local businesses. Not this one. This was shockingly bad. Jeff also had blood dripping from his knuckles and face for most of our interactions. Dont know what that was about... One more thing, Jeff stop saying you "discounted the car for me." The car was listed at 11k before i came it. I bought it for 11k. You didnt discount anything "For me."

So i called the number on the e-mail and got a recording that I was going to be recorded, then two rings, then disconnected. I tried again and the same thing. So I called the number on the website and got Jerry who explained that a) Joe was at the other shop and does not e-mail, and 2) They are having trouble with some middleman "contact manager" provider. He was nice and offered to go out and look at the car and try to e-mail me some info. Then "Mike" calls me and asks what i'd like to know. I explained that I had asked questions on the "Contact us" form but because you get no record of it - I could not remember exactly what I had asked - also having inquired about other cars at other dealerships. So I'd like it e-mailed when they get their e-mail fixed. Mike lit up, told me to stop wasting his time, called me a jackass and told me to F**k-off and hung up on me. Nice impression. Proceed at your own risk - Mike demonstrated the character and psychological balance of a small soap dish.
