Went in looking at a car to buy. The service was fine inside, but once I had gone out to the back to see the one I had planned on buying. I shut the door and the worker working both front and back came out to inform me, that I don't need to close the door that hard. And to not look in them unless I'm buying. I apologized only to be cut off and brushed off. All I can say is I left with out buying. And wont be buying anything from them now. Sad part is I came in wanting one car and was willing to leave with two after walking around. The only thing I have to say is, you never really know who you buyer maybe. So you should always treat everyone with the same respect you want. Update: Just found out that two employees tried to make contact with me after words. Which has changed my one star to two. Seeing them try to fix it was a small light on the dim subject. read more

I bought a 1965 Mustang last month and have had nothing but problems. I understand cars are old and issues will arise(I also own two Model T's), but some of these things should have been corrected before selling a car. So far I have had to fix a major transmission leak, the oil bolts to the oil pan were loose and leaking oil, some of the spark plugs were loose and nobody bothered to tell me the gas gage didn't work (thank God I had put gas in it before I ran out) or the temperature gage. Apparently it had a car alarm on it that I had no idea about that just started going off for no reason while I was driving it. I wasn't going to even post a review, but now my starter went out. For what I paid for the car in cash $21,500 I expected better. The day I picked up my car (which I had told them I'd be there at 9 when they opened) were 10 minutes late opening the door. Very disappointing. read more

Bought a 59 Chevrolet from these people and had it shipped to me. The car wouldn't start when He got it off the trailer as the battery was dead. I charged and checked the battery and it was no good. Went and bought a new battery. They were great to work with but wished they had been a little better at making sure things were right with their cars. No need to pay 26K for a car with a bad battery! :( read more

Be careful when buying a car from Pacific Classics and make sure to have the vehicle inspected bumper to bumper by a 3rd party prior to purchasing. I've walked through a few times to look at the various cars for sale and it reminded me of the old saying to put "lipstick on a pig" which is used to convey the message that making superficial or cosmetic changes is a futile attempt to disguise the undesirable nature of a product. Whether you visit the shop or look at photos online you will immediately notice a few things with every car for sale....paint, rims and tires. The only real money spent on these cars to get them ready to sell is paint, tires and rims. They paint everything in an attempt to make the car look better, but this may also be a technique used to cover things like rust, previous damage and keep potential buyers from noticing major and minor flaws with the vehicle. They paint engine bays, under carriage, inside trunk and anywhere else they deem necessary to hide potential flaws. The original paint is either detailed or the car is repainted (not the best prep work, paint or skill out there) because this is the cheapest way to make a bad car look good based solely on resale value. If you examine the interior of any car they have you will notice no work is ever done on the interior unless it's something like a torn headliner or ripped seat that needed replaced anyway. The interior looks like it's vacuumed, wiped down and that's about it. As I stated at the beginning, make sure to get any vehicle inspected by a 3rd party or you may end up spending hundreds or thousands of extra dollars for what is literally a wax job, vacuum, spray paint and the realization your dream car is really a pig with lipstick. read more

One of the worst moves I have ever made was trusting these guys I bought a 1964 impala frame off restoration from these guys everything looked great and new I was told it was gone through by there guys by the salesman test drove it it seemed nice bought it and drove it home that's when it all started falling apart all the suspension bolts were loose motor started running poorly the brakes went to mush and it started leaking fluids from all ends brakes oil power steering gas tranny when I contacted salesman he said take to a shop and send receipts and they will cover it to good to be true the owner Kelly calls 2 weeks later and said hes not covering anything didn't much care I was told the car was safe and put my family in it said the car was mine since then I have had to put all new brake system in it have the front end tightened and aligned transmission pulled fly wheel and torque conver and fly wheel replaced carburetor rebuilt now we just discovered the head gasket is blown and rear main is bad mean while the paint is starting to pop also had to have the exhaust redone I strongly suggest staying away from buying from these guys they don't care what so ever this was supposed to be a frame off care free driver 50000 dollars worth now it sits in the garage a basket case I'm a laborer so this hurts my family is very disappointed read more

I purchased a 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS from this dealer and was very happy with their service. Kelly the owner went over the car very honestly with me, had reliable high resolution photos posted of the car for sale, every single angle and part of the car it allowed me to view the car in great detail and ask questions about the areas that I wanted to know more about. I booked a flight from the Bay Area in California up to Washington and flew into Bellingham to go make sure i was going to be happy with the car. It was exactly what i was expecting, and the owner had been honest about the flaws with the car, it was actually probably a touch nicer in person than i had expected or would have found acceptable. So thumbs up, just do your due diligence like any buyer should for a classic car, but my experience was that this dealer was very honest and had not done patchy cover up work or anything of the sort. Don't take Kelly's word on ANYTHING! Make sure you look under the hood of your potential purchase to make sure that things like reservoirs and hoses haven't been removed, and never replaced. Make sure that harnesses aren't rotting. CHECK EVERYTHING. Better yet, go find an honest dealer. You won't find one here. read more

Bought one car from Pacific Classics. It was purchased while disassembled mid-restore so there were several months of interactions. Tried to be fair with describing my buying experience here. Short take away - from my limited experiences, seems like they sell beautiful and nicely styled classics for typical prices, however, I have serious reservations about the quality and care of the mechanical work. Wouldn't necessarily recommend unless they have your dream car and you have a pre-purchase inspection (to know what you're getting into), a good mechanic, or mechanical abilities. But, that may be true for any classic car dealer. Longer take-away by category: Price - about right, wasn't stupendous deal but we didn't haggle. No complaints there. Paperwork - Brandy was great, process was straightforward. There seemed to be a small misunderstanding with Kelly about payment, but it worked out. Communication during process - Kelly was nice and easy to get in touch with by phone. Email less so. There were a few slightly uncomfortable misunderstandings, but I think that's just the nature of this type of thing. No proactive updates unless something needed decided or paid, so we just had to periodically call to assess when the car might be ready. Unfortunately, they had us pick up the car directly from the upholsterer, so there was no orientation to car, no one to answer questions before we drove it home, and there wasn't much info on a few important functional issues that would have been helpful (see below). Interior work - Frank's did a beautiful job on upholstery and headliner. Would go back to him again for any future work. Exterior - nice new paint & styling, several nice touches (recommendation to tint windows, replace armrests, new tires, etc). It's a beautiful vehicle, we're very happy with how it looks. Mechanical - *sigh*. With an old car, we knew we are committing to a process of stewardship and eternal maintenance.. However, we thought a freshly restored vehicle with a new motor, clutch, etc, would give us a few months to enjoy the vehicle before it'd have to get more work done. Not the case. Upon pick up, the gas gauge read empty. A trip to gas station taught us that the gas gauge doesn't work. Would have been nice to know. The lights also didn't work. Easy fix, though - the bulbs were just unplugged. Weird, but easy to fix. We discovered the unplugged lights when we popped the hood to figure out why sparks were showering out of the motor... We were surprised to see the battery wasn't secured, so the first time we drove down hill, it slid forward, contacted the metal frame = shower of sparks. A trip to the auto shop for a hold down kit fixed the battery from moving, but there's a nice chunk of metal now etched out at the site of contact. Happily, while under the hood, we also discovered the reason the windshield washer didn't work might be because the reservoir was empty and the hoses weren't connected...but turns out that doesn't really matter for now because there aren't windshield wipers installed. Would have been nice to know given it's winter in the Pacific Northwest... While these are all relatively straightforward things to address, it suggests to me that perhaps the person doing the mechanical work wasn't experienced, was careless/distracted, or maybe there were multiple people involved and no one checked the basics. No lights, unsecured battery, non-working gas gauge, temp gauge and heater don't seem to work, no windshield wipers, disconnected hoses and empty fluid reservoir, mysterious cord just hanging from dash. If we were purchasing off the floor, I'd have had a pre-purchase inspection which may have alerted us so we could have got things fixed before driving it home. However, we trusted that the car we bought when disassembled mid-restoration would be somewhat complete when we picked it up, or that at least someone would have given us a heads up that some important functional things need to be tended sooner rather than later. Also - minor disappointment was that the car interior was quite dirty from shop dust, etc, when we picked it up. Over $40K paid for the car and work done, several months of looking forward to it, and no one in the garage even bothered to hit it with a shop vac, wipe the dust and grease from the inside, or clean gobs of dried adhesive from the new floor mat. I can clean a car, so it's not really an issue - but it's emblematic of some of the lackluster and questionable quality and care demonstrated in the service we experienced. This is a summary of my experience from one purchase. I probably wouldn't go back for anything mechanical but the aesthetics seem solid. Might be a totally different experience if you buy a car from the floor, instead of buying one while work is still being done. We're happy with our car despite the unfortunate surprises - after all, shame on us for trusting too much and not questioning enough. read more

after the initial 27k I spent on this car I am still fixing up stuff and about 40 k into it now.i understand it's an old car but the owner said he would help me out with some of the repairs and asked me to send him some of my invoices for the repairs and he actually seemed mad when I did and I have never seen a dime in help.anyway a used car is sold as is but I know I would have handled the situation differently at my places of business.anyway hope it was a one off and everyone else has a better experience read more
