Yes, you're reading this correctly: they've had the car for over one year and haven't even started working on it yet. I was told they'd get back to me later in the week. It's now the following week, no call back, no update, no ETA. When I finally have my vehicle back I will update this review and rating. I'll be cross-posting my final review to Google, Facebook and the forums as well, as they've changed their name from Drive Auto Works and some people may not be aware of the history/connection.

In my case, I had symptoms that could have been misdiagnosed as either a transmission problem or, a fuel delivery issue. I then realized that my exhaust system could be contributing to my performance issues and diagnostic and repair work should only be performed by exhaust specialists; I wanted to avoid spending time and money by having my vehicle worked on by my mechanic. I then visited my local Meineke Car Care Center on Main St., Passaic. This would be my first visit here. At first, I was somewhat uncomfortable with turning over my vehicle to a muffler shop. However, once I met the manager, Omar, and the owner, Jay, it became clear to me that I was in the right place and that Meineke's diagnostic and repair capabilities went far beyond muffler replacement. Their shop is a genuine down and dirty, no nonsense busy enterprise where servicing your car and communicating with the customer is priority ONE. My comfort level was quickly raised as both Omar and Jay patiently explained to me the method they would use to properly diagnose and rectify my vehicle's problems. There were no hidden agendas, no hidden charges or extras. My vehicle was taken into the shop quickly and the work performed efficiently and quickly. I was especially impressed with their welding skills as this is a critical part of all exhaust system work. Leak tests were performed and the vehicle test driven as well. A small waiting area with TV and reading material served the purpose and a decent deli is located up the block all of which made my wait more comfortable. As a new customer, I highly recommend this Meineke location and would return to them for servicing my vehicles.

I took my car in for a routine oil change. I have a 2015 VW Jetta, with about 90K miles on it. I've never really had a problem with the car. Well, guess how many mechanics it takes to JAM the Key, NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO, AND TAKE APART THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD + STEERING WHEEL? For reference, I'm not a mechanic. I've just been driving for like 20+ years now. When a key is slow to turn, you just wiggle it and it turns fine. Right? Well, they TOOK OFF THE DASHBOARD, and gave me a fucking HAMMER and told me to slam the KEYBOX with it, until the Key fell out.... I knew something was fishy when I dropped off my car at 12:00PM, and they didn't call until after 3PM. I called them, but they refused to pick up. AND THIS WAS AFTER THEY SAID IT'll SAY AN HOUR. Then they kept asking me if I'd encountered a problem like this ever before. No. Never. With this car, I've never even had a key jammed and had to wiggle it out. I knew what they were doing. An honest mechanic place would say 'Hey, Oil change is on us. And we'll fix this too, since it was our mistake.' Not a single sorry. Not a single apology. Kept trying to pin the blame on me, again and again. Over and over, I had to argue with them but they kept saying it wasn't their fault. I guess it's my fault for stepping in shit basically. Bad luck. Again, don't be the statistic. 1. They should have called me the MOMENT they encountered a problem (Which I never encountered before). 2. They should have called me BEFORE they took the dashboard APART. 3. They should have taken RESPONSIBILITY like an HONEST business and offered to FIX IT; if not for free, then atleast at a discount. 4. Again, no apology. Not a single one. NAda. Avoid this place like the plague. They're unprofessional, 0 idea what they're doing, with unexperienced mechanics, and 0 integrity. Shame on them.

I brought my car in to repair the passenger-side window. I purchased the part the shop recommended (the driver-side window switch) after asking whether the passenger-side switch was needed. I was told it was not. When I was first told the car was ready, the passenger window still did not work. After I pointed this out, the mechanic changed fuses in the fuse box and stated that different voltage fuses were required. Even then, the window would only work once the car warmed up, which I was told was "not a big deal." When I tested the window from the passenger-side controls, it did not work at all. By this point, I had already paid. Shortly after leaving, I noticed my Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) warning light was on. I informed the mechanic and was told it would go away after driving. Weeks later, the light is still on. I was then asked to pay to replace the passenger-side window switch... the same part I was originally told was unnecessary. When I asked about the LKA issue, I was told they would need to look at the car when they had time. The work performed resulted in additional issues, and the repair orders do not reflect the misinformation given or the fuse changes that occurred.
