This is my third visit and every time is a great experience! My lash tech is responsive and professional since day one. Accepts deposit, sends confirmation while checking in to see what I want. Honestly, she's open to when I don't like something or even want less or more, she adjusts and makes sure it's what I like. I've been to a couple of other places, but honestly this lash tech specializes solely on lashes so she is quick! It took her 40 minutes for a semi glam on a new set! I'm always up for trying a new lash extension spot. Found this place on Yelp and thought I'd give them a try. I called and left a message stating that I wanted to make an appointment and it was evening so they had probably either closed or were with clients. I received a call back the very next morning and I was scheduled for the end of that week. The location is in a suite leasing building where independent small businesses in the beauty industry can rent a private unit for their business. Upon entering the building, Lash Cove is the first suite to the right of the reception desk. The unit is small with two beds for two possible clients simultaneously with enough space and distance between each bed so each technician can work without feeling crowded. Place is clean and my technician practiced clean and sterile work habits. My appointment was for 90 minutes. For the first 5 minutes we discussed what look I wanted, lengths, thickness and shape. I wanted classic lashes (one individual lash extension per each lash I have) with a cat eye shape (longer lashes at the outer corner) and I wanted my lashes to look like I had 2-3 coats of mascara on. But I also wanted the shape of my eyes to appear larger too. Modern music played in the background while my technician gently worked on me. She was pleasant and social. We had several discussions on various topics during my time with her. When I was done, I was happy with the overall look as it was what I wanted. She did add various lengths of individual lashes through my eye shape (inner corner to outer corner) to give my eyes the appearance of looking larger with the focus of longer lashes at the outer corner to give them that cat shape. My eyes looked great and made my eyebrows shape look even better. She scheduled me for my return fill appointment which I opted for in 4 weeks. Upon leaving she said if I should lose several lashes leaving gaps or see any gaps within the next week, to give her a call and she'll schedule me in to fix it. By around 4 days later, I lost more lashes than what is normal. So I went back to see her and she put new ones in where they fell out and left gaps and she was great about it. I can tell her and her partner really care about their clients happiness. At the end of my appointment, I had quite a bit of glue at the outer corner of my left eye making my lashes stick in that corner. She did resolve it but I left still feeling a little stickiness over the next couple of days in that corner which is really annoying. But I was happy overall. When I returned for my monthly fill, I scheduled with my same technician and got my fill done. Everything still looked great and these lasted much better than my first visit. But after getting home and and over the next couple days, I felt that my lashes were too close to my eyelids where they would poke at the skin of my eyelids and upon analyzing them, they were a little too close and had a tad bit too much glue. Not that it was noticeable but it's just what I analyzed. I've been an eyelash extension enthusiast since eyelash extensions came out before they became popular. I've gotten mink, silk and synthetic and gone all over LA County to get them done. I do like all the different materials they are made out of, each for various reasons. Synthetics are the cheapest and mostly used now a day. My overall experience at Lash Cove was ok and if there were no other lash salons in my area I'd probably go back again. But because there are at least 25 salons in a 1.5 mile radius of my house, and priced competitively, I think I'll try another salon next time for a full set and then a fill until I find a lash technician that's right for me like I had when I lived in West Los Angeles a few years ago. Lash Cove has lots of happy customers and the reviews to prove it so you should give them a try as well to see if they are right for you. Good luck! read more

I've been seeing Michelle for almost 2 years now and she is my girl! Sadly I tried to go elsewhere and when she took off my lashes she showed me how bad they were placed. When I went to nursing school and had do have my Platinum lashes removed my actual lashes were all still intact. If she ever can't do mine her coworker Jasmine is also amazing! Both of these girls are the only ones I will ever allow touch my lashes. In the room they make sure you're comfy and give you a blanket because it's always so cold. I think I've waited long enough to post my review. So my lash girl went on maternity leave the beginning of June. I had 3 appointments after that where the techs royally messed up my lashes. Super embarrassing how they look. Nothing like I'm used to with my primary lash tech Michelle. She is amazing and knows how to ensure your lashes stay in place until fills. Here's what gets me, I pre-booked until the end of august. I kept cancelling because I never got a call to from Melissa to see if everything was ok after I cancelled the first 2 times. Even when my tech returned you would think you'd let me know but NO... I feel so bad for my tech because they lost me as a client when the tech had nothing to do with it nor is she aware. I've been holding off on reviewing but I realized how disappointed I was. Had a lash set done in April for a wedding and had seen this location was near me. When calling the receptionist was super friendly but the wait time for a appointment as two weeks... sheesh! So I committed and went to my appointment. The space is nice and clean. The beds are extremely comfortable I could've taken a nap. My bad experience comes with the tech I had can't really remember her name just that she was blonde, glasses, and originally lived in another state. Initially she was friendly and great to talk to. My main issue was she did not listen to my style and length I wanted. She continuously kept saying she was going to put what she thought was best for me instead of what I wanted. I've had my lashes done for several years so I had great knowledge on the styles and lengths. When I looked in the mirror I felt like crying. It looked like one size all across and just thick. No dimensions no length. I looked like a doll from the 99cent store. When paying the receptionist noticed I was upset and offered to have me come back another day to get them fixed. Sadly I didn't have time since the wedding was the next two days. Retention was the worst I was having my makeup done and 10 clusters fell just from a eyeshadow brush. I was fully bald in less than 6 days. They're great people overall but I regretted even paying for something I hated so much. Never went back. When I mentioned my experience to other lash techs from other locations, they all agreed they've heard the same thing from new clients. read more

I'm disappointed in how this place handles their complaints. I was going regularly and this last time not only did my lash tech get glue in my eye, she also managed to glue my lower lash to my top lash and it was painful to remove. She finally used glue remover to get it unstuck and then I had to ask her to refill that section. When I complained, no one cared. The excuse was given that this happens sometimes. The problem is that this isn't the standard and it was disappointing. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and the lady who works the front is the manager/supervisor per what she said. I couldn't escalate further as they were just "sorry but sometimes it happens." I don't believe that this "just happens" and was clearly due to lack of skill. When my lashes fell out within a few days in previous visits, they blamed the weather and no offer to refill was given. I didn't ask for anything for free, I always pay for my services, I simply started to schedule my appts earlier. This last visit I just wanted a sincere apology and acknowledgement that they hurt my eye and that it wasn't the norm. I don't believe they truly guarantee their work. This place has a good ambiance and some of the techs are great but they have poor customer service when it's not sunshine and rainbows of an experience. They are clearly popular and surely won't miss my patronage. Edited to add: I was never ever scheduled for a free refill. I always paid. I can show my receipts. I do not appreciate the lies and the fact that your manager said this, goes to show she is a liar. I did not go to my appointment due to the lack of professionalism. In fact, thank you for the experience as I was wasting my money here. My lashes no longer need weekly fills- I can go three weeks now with my new lash place. I took a cancellation spot with a technician that had good reviews & a waiting list 3 weeks out. 3 stars are for: Place was nice, technician very nice, price seemed fair. I would give 2 stars for quality and customer service.. I did show the technician a pic from their website that I liked and a pic from elsewhere we chatted for a min about the style and I did say whatever she felt was better for my eye shape & skin tone etc but of course I wanted them to look full since I was getting a new set. My 1st concern was lashes started to fall off while I was driving home!! I assumed these were individual lash extensions and had seen what I thought were clusters falling out, I called the place & the lady on phone said they were "hand made" fans. I asked if I should be concerned about bare spots since this just happened. She didn't seemed concerned and didn't tell me to come back or call back etc.. I figured I would give it a day as the technician said they need to "settle" I noticed the end of one eye seems like it's drooping or they weren't glued the same as the others. I noticed a couple "barer spots" I did accept the cancellation with a 15 min time frame to arrive and I was getting a 1st Time FULL set so maybe she felt rushed ? I figured I'd wait a day and see how they looked. I did NOT brush them or get them wet. When I woke up there were a couple of lash fans on my pillow and when I got myself ready a few more fell out. My bf does not like them, my daughter didnt like them. And I guess my vision of what they were gonna look like isn't what I see. There was no advice on how to take care of them after, I was told not to get them wet the day of. So I do feel like there should've been more communication either from the technician or the front desk.. I was going to call today and ask about having them fixed... But my boyfriend would rather me take them off so it seems pointless to go back and have more added on for the areas that are falling out.. I do feel that this many shouldn't be falling out within 24hrs. And am afraid of what they will look like if I brush them an.. I usually ask others for their recommendations of places but I picked this place on my own. It's has been exactly 1 week to the day and I'm so disappointed, mainly because I didn't know they were not individual lashes and that they were "fans" so now I have missing clumps/spots and it looks stupid. I have 1 VM from someone at the place doing a checkup one day later and it did not address my concerns.. which is fine.. I appreciate that someone has reached out to me here on yelp. Unfortunately my BF and family do not want me to get them done again and I would not do clusters or fans as they call it for the exact reason I stated. No wonder ppl have to book a one week/2wk/3wk etc fill plan .. this style/place is just not my cup of tea, NO fault of the owners. I do find it a little irritating that when my preferred lash artist Marie left, all my appointments were canceled. I didn't get a call or a text or anything. It's not the first time I've had an appointment canceled and the only notification I got was an email. That's really what prompted me to follow Marie to her new location at Salon Bloom. Although I was already planning to have this be my last appointment, I made the mistake of trusting Platinum Lashes the morning of my engagement photos.... mostly because I didn't have the time to take a risk of trying a new place. Even though they made a note in my profile that this was for engagement photos, they still booked me for a shorter appointment without telling me until I was already in the chair. You'd think that a photo shoot would warrant a LONGER appointment (and I would have paid for it), but no. By the time I came in that morning, it was too late and no one could spend time on me afterward because they were fully booked. It was also too late to get an appointment at a new salon.... and no one at Platinum lashes cared. The esthetician spent more time talking to her friends than working on my lashes, and also couldn't do both at the same time.... I would constantly feel her stop working and remove her hands from my face to answer someone's question or respond to one of her friends. I felt uncomfortable saying anything but was also feeling stressed.... I figured she knew that this was important to me. Although my pictures are beautiful, my lashes are so thin and sad. The whole reason I booked a 2-week fill the morning of was to have full, long, luscious lashes in pictures, and even 90 minutes should be plenty of time for an experience esthetician to fill them (after only 2 weeks!). I didn't realize HOW bad this place is until I tried a new salon afterward. If a salon tells you that TWO HOURS isn't enough time to fully complete a 2 or 3-week fill, run! Even though it's cool to make friends and socialize at work, I feel like the open layout of the salon and chatter really interferes with the quality of work. Think about it and think of your own job..... if you spent all day chatting with your friends at the same time you did your work, would your work be as good? My fellow Yelpers and friends, you may see some 5-star reviews here, but please look at the number of reviews those Yelpers have, and look at how many first-timers to try eyelash extensions that there are. Half of the reviews here are from an entirely different business in this location; a salon that offered other services besides eyelash extensions.... so the 5 star review is inaccurate for this business and misleading. Don't make the same mistakes I did! This isn't the only salon in town, and there are other estheticians that will actually focus on your lashes, especially when they aren't cheap! read more

This is my all-time favorite place to get eyelash extensions. It's owned by a husband and wife team, and they are the absolute nicest, most genuine and professional people ever. This extends to all of the techs as well. Just the nicest, sweetest people, each and every one. I had been going to a place previous to this in which I would have some trouble with lash retention and, in addition, the glue would always burn my eyes. No such trouble here. My lashes have always stayed on, and no burning! The prices are better, as well. Best of all, this place has the cutest aesthetic! It's decorated really nice, has a retro vibe, and I love the tables that you get to lie down on. They're so comfortable that I usually almost always fall asleep! Very relaxing.
