What was supposed to be a quick stop for my daughter turned into an unexpected family shopping adventure. My daughter wanted to browse for something cute for herself, so we stopped into Plato's Closet about 30 minutes before closing. I was a little worried we'd be rushing, but the atmosphere was still fun and relaxed despite shoppers trying to squeeze in a few last-minute treasures before the store closed. The best part was watching the shopping bug spread through the family. My daughter started browsing, then the other kids decided they wanted something too. Suddenly everyone was searching racks, comparing deals, and showing each other what they found. Lol. I wasn't even planning to shop, but I ended up finding a pair of Calvin Klein work slacks for The Mr. for $18; I couldn't pass on a deal like that. That's one of the things I love about stores like Plato's Closet--you never know what you're going to find, and sometimes the best deal is the one you weren't looking for. Years ago, when my oldest son was a baby, he grew so quickly that I regularly sold his outgrown clothes to Plato's Closet. Walking through the store now and watching that same child use his own money to buy clothes for himself was really special. The staff deserve a shoutout as well. Even though it was close to closing time and they were clearly working on end-of-night tasks, everyone we spoke with was friendly, patient, and welcoming. The cashier was especially kind while helping the kids check out their purchases, which I appreciated. We came in looking for one item and left with several happy shoppers. That's usually a sign of a successful trip. We'll definitely be back for another treasure hunt soon. read more

Dont even bother bringing your clothes here. I brought in 2 garbage bags full of clothes that I hadnt worn in a while. And i was excited to make at least something from it. They made me wait 2 whole hours to tell me that they aren't taking a single thing!!!!!! So then I was confused because there were a lot of good brands, and my clothes were in good condition. So I asked her why and she looked me dead in my face and said "sorry we dont take KIDS clothes" I honestly felt so disrespected (for the record i am 24) & I have not went back there since. Clearly they dont have any kids clothes that would fit me decently. I guess only shop here if you fit inside their little box. Im good off that tho!! read more

Don't take your clothes here! They always want to rip you off. I show up with multiple bags inside the store, they accept maybe one to five of those items. They're picky, selective, even on designer or name brand. Which makes no sense because the clothes are in great condition with no stains or anything. Wish they would tell you exactly what they're looking for before goy lug clothes of lbs on your back like Santa only for them to reject like 98% of it. Plus, with what they take from you, they give you less than a $1. Take a target swimsuit top from last year with nothing wrong with it. The lady said she'll give 80 cents for it. I bought it for $27, tag on it. What's wrong with the pricing system? Seems awfully NOT fair. Disappointing to say the least. I brought a huge bin of nike and lululemon assuming they would take it for cheaper because they do usually rip you off but I asked to see what they were taking and for how much. Brand new nike hoodie they were going to give me 2.50 but it had a stick note with Gracie's name on it which is an employee. They did this on multiple items. I am very disappointed about the amount of money that they offered for brand new items-Two pairs of Vince Camuto sandals that cost at least 60.00 each from Nordstroms, gently used faux leather blazer. A faux leather INC purse with matching wallet from Macys cost 60.00 last summer was only valued for 25.00 for a total of 5 items . Big rip off !!!!! They could have offered 30.00 for brand new sandals, 15.00 for the blazer and 20.00 for the purse and matching wallet . I will not recommend them to anyone! They scam younger people!! I came in there less than a month ago to sell Dr Martins that were only worn for 3 hours. They were going to give me $30. Which I thought was extremely low. So I took them back. My daughter just went up there wanting to sell clothing before going to college & had lightly used hollister and America eagle. (Only took 4 items) had her bring up the Dr Martins again & they only would offered $18. Which my daughter decline I called to ask why & the person that answered was very rude and kept calling me honey. I'm 50 years old. Very rude and a scam! read more

Everyone is so quick to write bad review and I'm shocked because I just had the best Plato's Closet experience ever. They had so much authentic and nice lululemon and Nike and all other brands priced super affordable. My jaw dropped at the $25 lululemon crew neck that was in good condition Mary, the sweet girl at the front, and I talked about how other consignments stores sell fake lululemon and other brands. She verified that they verify all their designer brands and helped give me peace of mind. Mary was awesome the whole time actually. read more

Went to this location with my boyfriend. He had two bags of clothes to give with nice brands. For example, Lululemon, Levi's, Tommy, Calvin Klein. We waited for two hours, while they sorted through the bags. This was the first time he sold clothes but I sold clothes multiple times before. I went through his bag and saw the nice things that he had. When the clothes were ready to be picked up, they bought nothing. I have never had that experience at Plato's closet before and I have sold to them at least 20 times never before at this location if you're going to go through a customers bag for two hours the minimum you could do is buy two things. I was certain I wrote a review the last time I came here. They habe a large selection of new or lightly used clothing and shoes. They sell a lot of name brand active wear, jeans, shirts, sweaters/sweatshirts, cardigans, etc. they purchase them as well if they are in good shape and in style. Sometimes they only look for certain items in season. Today they had 90% off yellow tag, and I got a shirt for $0.40. I got two other shirts after for $1.25. One was J crew and super new! A lot of their items are really new or barely worn. The ladies working at the counter were super sweet and helpful. They tell you the time it may take to check items you want to sell. They take some jewelry, even lotions and makeup unused. Great way to make extra cash on items you have not used or do not need. Anything they do not need, I just donated. read more

This store recently publicized that they're under new ownership, and it's definitely gone downhill since changing owners. Their selling process is extremely disorganized. Previously, they scheduled selling by appointment which was so much more convenient and organized. I brought clothes in to sell today and was told it wouldn't take too long. After waiting 45 minutes, they even hadn't started going through the clothes. Nearly, two hours later I received a text they were finished. When I returned, they had not purchased anything. This wouldn't have been an issue if I was able to have a scheduled time slot, but it was a HUGE waste of time and gas having to come back. Also, while I waited I browse the clothing, and the store is literally full of DIRTY, worn out clothes..I've definitely seen better at the thrift store. I've shopped here in the past when it was under the previous owners, but definitely won't be back now that it's gone so downhill. I would definitely suggest the other Plato's in the area both for buying and selling. NEVER SELL STUFF HERE. I was told it would take one hour for them to go through my bag. I sat in the parking lot for TWO hours then walked back inside and they told me another hour. So then I drove home. Then they texted me at 7:57 that I had to come back and get my stuff before 8:00! Do not waste your time. They don't look through your clothes, they just pass on everything to save time, even when the clothing is in style and in decent condition. They denied a Coach purse! They also never sent me a text stating the items were done. The person told me 30-45 minute wait, after waiting and not receiving a text, I went home. I continued to check the link, it still said "Queued," and it was getting late so I called, they said it was completed 2 hours ago. When I got there they passed on everything. The absolute worst store I've ever been to. The workers are dumb, they have no common sense. Do not recommend. I took back clothes and they said to come back when I revive a text message and if I receive it that same day to come that day or the next morning. I went in with my daughters so they could sell their clothes, as well as picked out a few things to purchase. Cashier made an honest mistake, tried to find someone to correct it, after speaking with the mgr, she wouldn't fix the error. The poor cashier looked almost in tears. I asked for the mgr, who then came out and told me since the transaction was already rang up, there was nothing she could do. I then asked for her managers name and number, which she told me to look up the number online since I made the comment that their receipt was garbage because you couldn't read it. not once was I rude with the employees, again, HONEST error, and the mgr said she would appreciate me not being rude. I used to love coming here. I came in here the other day, and noticed they revamped the store which is amazing! However, it would help if the staff was actually friendly or helpful. They seemed too focused on their personal life conversations. They also seem to have not changed a single clothing item at least it is what it seemed like to me.
