This place is dumb. Waited over an hour to get nothing back for over 50+ pieces of clothing. I had name brand stuff that was all barely worn and in great condition and they did not take one thing. Stupid. They should at least say that they are very picky with their selection because I honestly don't know what they would take at this point. Been a few times, the last time the employees were really rude. Should not have went back. Won't ever go back there again. They wanted me to leave my small purse with them like I was a thief, pretty messed up. I've always loved Plato's closet. I always felt the Westminster location was far better than the Santa Ana location- but ever since the new ownership, the Santa Ana location is favorite BY FAR. And I'm not necessarily trying to knock the new management/owners, but ever since then the selection/quality of clothing available at the Westminster location has gone down significantly. I understand that the majority of people that work at this location are teenagers or adults in their early 20's, but for employees that are going through clothing that somebody is either selling or donating, making rude comments and laughing about the clothing (loud enough that others can hear) is not only unprofessional but a good way to lose returning customers. Came today with my friend for their grand opening. Everything was going well until we checked out with this rude girl wearing a brown zip up hoodie and no makeup. My friend had a gift card and the incompetent girl asked her fellow co worker or manager for help on how to do run the gift card. The co worker proceeds to tell her that she needs to call in for the gift card and she turns to my friend and I and says, "Our gift card system is down" as if we didn't hear her conversation right in front of us about her asking how to do it. I guess she was being lazy and giving serious attitude for no reason. She proceeds to be persistent about not running the gift card and says word for word "Can't you just pay for it?". She also started to argue with her mom or manager right in front of customers and tries to scam us for paying more for the skirt (because the mom/manager was wondering how much the skirt was exactly after tax to write it down and process and the cashier said to just put $9 when the skirt was actually $8.62) When we finished paying, she doesn't even give back the gift card!She held it in her hand and said nothing was on it when there was $25 on it and the skirt was only $8.62. After the whole fiasco, we asked the manager if there really was no money left on the card, and she explained that we had to call the number on the back to confirm our balance left. Which we did and it only took us a minute to do so and get an answer quickly. I don't know why she just wouldn't process our gift card in the first place since it was the same process and so easy for us to do. I used to love this plato's, but management needs to teach their workers basic customer service and manners, and that girl needs an attitude check. Watch out when using gift cards because that seems to be a trigger for them. read more

This store is so clean and they have a bunch of quality pieces! The employees are all on top of it and keep the whole purchasing and selling process smooth! I had a great experience selling here. I brought in 2 large trash bags which they took a decent amount of. The whole process was quick, and I was called within 2 hours to come back even though I was 7th on the waitlist. They also asked if I would like to donate the rest of my clothes, and I filled out another form to do so. The owner and staff were all very kind. if i could gave them no stars I would.. I came by just two days ago with a bag full with brand new clothes EVERYTHING had a tag. The girl that helped me out told me it's was going to be a 40 minute wait so I decided to look around but everything was just in really bad condition and looked so old. The place looked dirty and mess, they gave me call letting me know that they have looked through the clothes and that it's ready to get picked up. I approach the girl that helped me out and said "oh we decided to pass on everything." It was just a waste of time just for them to pass on everything that was in really good condition. Literally the worst place to sell your clothes. I brought in two trash bags, waited the amount of time they told me, came back and they weren't ready which was fine. They told me to come back later in the week, so I did. I also have voicemail PROOF of the girl calling and telling me to "come whenever I am ready to pick my clothes up". I showed up to the store expecting to get my money from the stuff they bought, and the extra clothes they didn't buy... but no, They then told me that they donated all my clothes in the bags, and refused to give me the $ that they owed me for buying certain items. Me and my sister came into Plato's asking if they could accept our buy because we came in and saw on the door that they now stop buys at 5pm. For starters, the quality of their clothing has gone down immensely. Everything in the store is now so ugly and outdated, which wasn't always true. They were also super low in stock in most of their sections. Additionally, after the young asian girl with glasses told us she couldn't accept our buy she proceeds to take another girls buy 30 minutes after. You can tell that the quality of both the workers and clothing is declining since the new owners have taken over. Good luck to this place its a mess! read more

Came into this store a few days ago and had the WORST experience. To clarify, i've been to this location multiple times before and have already experienced some horrible customer service and negative energy but I decided to give it another chance since it's been a while and I wanted to see if anything has changed. So I brought in a bag full of brand named clothes (some never even worn) just for them to say, "it's not what we're looking for" What does that even mean? I had NEW, BRANDED named items such as princess polly, urban outfitters, lululemon, juicy couture (etc.) and NONE was even bought. They then proceeded to show me a "list" of what they were looking for which didn't even add up because they were looking for outerwear, pants, short/ long dresses (etc.) yet wouldn't even take any of the pants, dresses, or outerwear's that I had in the bag. Not to mention, the staffs here are EXTREMELY rude and beyond unprofessional. The last time I was here, a girl named Janet gave me the eye as soon as I walked into the store and glared at me the entire time while I was shopping and just made me feel uncomfortable overall. This time, it was a different worker. The young boy with the name tag Adam looked like he didn't even wanna be there. I also remembered him from the last time I was here, he went through my husband's bag of clothes and didn't give us a call at all when he was finished and basically forgot about us. When we came back hours later, he was still there and we saw him on his phone the ENTIRE time even when I was waiting for a fitting room and to be rung up. He didn't even bother to greet us, it looked like he was playing games on his phone because I was standing there waiting to be rung up while I saw him leaning against the counter and getting excited and then mad over something on his phone. This time, he was just standing behind the counter moping around like he wanted to leave the place (I honestly don't blame him). This other girl who was also working with him, I think her name was Tia? Was also rude and unprofessional. She speaks in a tone and is constantly sighing very loudly while rolling her eyes. It looked like she was fed up with Adam because I overheard them arguing or talking back & forth with each other and her telling him , "Oh my god, you're so slow, hurry up!" Anyways, she was the one that went through my clothes and didn't buy anything. I really question her sense of choice and I suggest selling your clothes somewhere else or using an app because the workers here really don't know how to do their jobs or go through customers clothes. She passed on all my clothes but then I peeked over and saw her going through the next customer's clothes and noticed that she took some Ross and TJMaxx. I was surprised at that point because I thought that they didn't take any clothes that were from Ross, TJMaxx, HomeGoods, (etc.). BOY was I wrong though because I walked around the store to get a better glimpse of what they were looking for and I saw quite a few clothes that had the Ross tag on it and even a Target clearance sticker on a skirt which they priced for MORE. Some of their bathing suits had stains on it while the other clothes also had holes and stains. They have a Brandy section full of old, mediocre, looking clothes that doesn't really capture anyone's eyes because my daughter told me that they were out of style. If this is what the staffs are buying then I highly recommend doing a better job and actually looking into fashion trends because their clothes are ridiculous. Hopefully the manager does something about this and how to train the staffs better. I've been here at least 4 times and all those times the experience and service was horrible. there has been a new owner who's taken over this location since. sold 6 band tees 1 dickies overalls and got like... 7 bucks. at another plato's i sold 3 tees and got actually 25 bucks... crazy right!! it's not on the girls who work there though, they're all pretty sweet and i believe many have been recently hired. don't recommend coming here to sell though go to the costa mesa one read more
