When we walked in, Davey immediately greeted us and asked what we were looking for so we pulled up a list of some records on a "hit list," then browsed around while he checked to see if he had any of them. Meanwhile, I hunted around - everything is in total organized chaos, with records everywhere, but clearly labeled by genre. The first record I pulled was Biggie's Ready to Die, which was an obvious must buy. We chatted music while searching and when I mentioned I was a Wu Tang fan, he put on one of GZA's first tracks that really kicked things off, that was unknown to me. Davey is someone who knows music and seems to really love what he does. The shop also features a ton of awesome vintage clothes, comic books, and different nostalgic items (plus VHS and DVDs too, which definitely made me feel old). We left with 4 records at great prices and will continue to come back anytime we're in Huntington! Such a unique space that you could spend HOURS in and not uncover all the magic in that place.

It feels as though full stories are being lived out through their mannequins and the way they have styled them. The window display says so much about how the female owner (red haired and creative, Nicole) runs her shop: dynamic, thoughtful, retro-centric, and committed to the process of artistically offering vintage goods, highly curated, at fair prices. I just love to see their latest window designs, cruise around inside, chat with the friendly staff, and check out everything from studded belts to zipper boots, wigs to leopard print overcoats... just so amazing. This afternoon I was on the search for a new dresser, and she was sassy and rude from the beginning. In our initial conversations when I was explaining to her I am trying to replace my existing dresser, she interrupted me mid sentence to say "well I don't KNOW what you have now" like girl... I'm literally explaining because YOU ASKED. I was still nice to her and afterwards my friend even asked me why I was so nice to her when she acted that way towards me. Now to the bad part... I found a dresser I was strongly considering to purchase and filming an in depth video to send my husband for confirmation, when Valerie comes up behind me saying something like "I need to get by you" (not excuse me or something neutral or going another way??) and TAPPED MY BUTT!!!!! She interrupted my video, she not only invaded my personal space but touched me inappropriately, and she had a bad attitude from the start. For context, I was bending slightly over while wearing a mid thigh length dress to show the specs of the dresser which made the interaction all the more inappropriate... I genuinely can't believe this happened and I hate to sound dramatic but this has unfortunately turned a good day sour. At the register, Debbie looked at the wallet and told us she could NOT sell us the wallet because "it's way to nice to be $1." She said, " this has to be boutique, I don't think you found it over there." Mind you the wallet was a polyester zipper wallet! I could understand leather or something name brand. I immediately just wanted to leave my items after how she made us feel. The whole experience was awful. I will never support this location again. It has a large selection of housewares, especially vintage China, etc. Also lots of clothes, and an upscale boutique at the back. They do have some pricier items, but you can get a good deal if you know what to look for. Parking can be a challenge, especially on Saturday, because they just have a small lot. There's street parking but it's a few blocks away in the neighborhood.
