I was in the area on trip for work and had been to this restaurant/bar many years before. I was with a group of three other people and we were hungry. We all ordered a drinks and that took a bit of tome considering there was almost no one there. Then we ordered and the meals took forever. Plus one of us received the wrong meal. Our party of 3 did not know what to expect, as PBC appears small from the outside and is nestled between a hotel and another restaurant. We arrived right when they opened and were seated promptly by a friendly bartender. The hubs and I each ordered a sample platter of their house brewskis and they were ALL delish. I had the Mediterranean pasta and I must rave - it was thee best fresh pasta dish I have ever had -- totally memorable and I seriously hope to be able to semi-replicate it. I crave it now! My husband had the ravioli and it was just OK. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be back - quaint atmosphere, great service, cold beer, and overall scrumptious food! read more

I tried the red and brown ales, and both were delightful in their own ways. The tilapia has a fresh taste and the beeramisu (yes, that's a thing) is a must for dessert. I did not see the review about the flies until I was already there. But so true. The big screen TV in the bar had them all over. You could see them all over the wall next to the bar. I'm sure all the dark wood, brick and other dark colors his more. Now & then you could see them in flight around you. I nearly walked out, but had already ordered and being on a business trip & unable to turn in more than one dinner receipt for dinner, I just put up with it. Was staying at the Comfort Inn thought it would be a good place to go. Waited forever for a beer, although pretty good IPA not sure it was worth the wait. The brewery wasn't that busy either. The manager came out a few times last night and was down right rude to a number of tables. In fact if I was the owner of this establishment he would be something I would address immediately. This is an updated review of Plattsburgh Brewing Co from a customer who patronized this establishment many times over the past 18 months as our daughter attended college in town. I had given them a five star rating but as several things had changed and not for the better, I have removed all of my prior rating. Decor is very pleasing, the place is clean. The servers are friendly. On our last visit there a few weeks ago, we learned that the evening manager , John, had been "let go". We always found him very welcoming. We had a server who we hadn't seen before . She didn't have much knowledge about their new menu , and seemed surprised when we told her we loved their house made fresh pasta (we found out why when we got our order) . We have a family member with a soy allergy and the servers were always very quick to identify for us what was safe to eat. Not this time. Two trips to the kitchen were necessary for the server. My wife and daughter tried to order the four cheese pasta, their go-to favorite , full of flavor with your choice of house made pasta. The server told us it is three cheese pasta now and didn't have a choice of pasta. I ordered the grilled chicken breast with Marsala wine sauce. When our food came (about 30 minute wait with only two tables with patrons in the place ) we found out the wait wasn't worth it. The three cheese pasta dish was not only different in appearance from the old mainstay , but on to of the penne pasta was several dollops of ricotta cheese , the dish is supposed to be served hot but the ricotta on top was refrigerator cold, as in just spooned out of the ricotta container, no cooking, no warning, no stirring it in. My grilled chicken looked good but was just that, no seasoning, no Marsala sauce etc. we sent the pasta dishes back and asked for properly prepared ones. A minute or so later my Marsala sauce was brought to the table. I was pleasantly surprised that it was very tasty . After about another 15 minutes my wife and daughter three cheese pasta replacement dishes were brought to our table. While both were served hot , my wife and daughter both report that the pasta was clearly a boxed product, in fact it was hard. My wife ate some but told me that it had nowhere near the flavor or quality that the dish had as recently as a month before. My daughter tasted hers and called it "tasteless, with a canned tasting red sauce" . This restaurant had always had a great tasting red sauce , not the server from a can sold from restaurant supply company stuff. Another disappointment. My daughter refused to eat hers., and my wife hadn't eaten hers either. We asked for our check , and the server took the pasta dishes off the check. After we left the restaurant,My wife and daughter were able to get a better tasting meal at Chick Fill-A, located across the street !!! So sad that our favorite restaurant in Plattsburgh has sacrificed quality so drastically. We won't be going back here. read more

Came back and had another great meal. This time the beer was in a cold pint but the food was fantastic again. Jamaican jerk wings are a must if you're a wing fan and the build your own pasta is tasty. Make sure you ad a protein. My wife had the blackened catfish and loved it. We'll be back. read more

This place has so much potential, especially as a hotel bar/restaurant. The food is middle of the road. I stuck with the safe stuff(wings, fish and chips). We stayed at the hotel for over a week and ate and drank here three of the nights so I don't write this based in one poor experience but those three. THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! I have never felt like a wait staff worked harder to show you how annoyed they are to be at work and to have to serve you in my life. Out of 5 different bartenders, not one of them ever greeted(other than a "hey, what can I get you"),checked back to ask how things were or worked to keep your drink filled. The gentleman next to us was overheard complaining to his wife that he had been waiting 10 minutes for a beer and I could see the staff off to the side of the bar talking and laughing. He had to hold up his bottle to get their attention. We had a group of five or six of us and ran up a couple hundred dollar tab within 20 minutes of being there and no one seemed to show any concern or care that we were celebrating a birthday and out to have a good time. This place is a disgrace to the microbrewing community and what they represent as a community and needs an overhaul in staff and clearly management(which was entirely non existent). read more

I chose this location to have a department dinner for six people, not only did the menu look good the but the ambiance seemed pleasant. Our service was great and the beer was also enjoyable. The issue was that the food was horrible. Every one of our four appetizers were sub par and our entres were not only cold, but the crabcakes seemd to be cooked in dirty or old oil. The server offered to microwave our food for us, but I do not go to a restaurant to have leftover quality food. In the end the manager did offer free desert, but we left very unsatisfied and hungy. read more

We stopped in to this place in late April on a brief visit to Plattsburgh. We stayed at a nearby motel so it was easy to walk to the place. Actually, PB is attached to another motel, so the bar had quite a few people who were staying over. The beer was surprisingly good and there were seven or eight styles on draft. John, the bartender was very friendly and accommodating and funny. We got growler fills to take back to the room. We liked it so much that we returned the next night and had some bar food with our beer. Very good stuff. The barmaid wasn't as much fun as John, but we saw some of the same people from the previous evening at the bar. If you find yourself in Plattsburgh, I would check this joint out for sure! read more

The staff is super friendly here the place looks incredibly nice they brew their own beer, so super delicious, mixed drinks and margaritas not so much, I'm a super Margarita lover and I had them remake it several times to still not be satisfactory to me. I even asked for them to make it a double charged me $18 for a double Margarita that I couldn't even taste any alcohol in it. And I specifically told them to put Grand Marnier Cointreau and Patron in it, so three different things of alcohol oh, that's the way I like them and it tasted nothing like my Norm. This is specifically for picking up as a hotel guest: The food was pretty tasty. You don't always expect great fries from a hotel restaurant but these were delicious. My burger was cooked perfectly. It was super easy to order with the hotel phone, and everything was ready on time. I did not dine in, but would have. A microbrewery on the second floor of a hotel? Super cool! read more

Food is always great. Love everything I have had. Their brews are ok. Nothing over the top great but I have had some that are decent . Sometimes they are out of ones on the menu. However I gave 3 stars because last time I was there (have not been back sense) I brought in my growler I bought in the past the bartender filled it up without cleaning it out. I told her it was not cleaned and they usually blast it out with the water jet. I gave benefit of doubt but when I got home the beer was ruined. You could taste it had the old moldy leftover in it and I had to dump it all. They should know better anyways and rinse every one. read more

Very disappointed. I started out with the toasted ravioli app. They were over cooked and very bland. I then ordered their BBQ burger medium with the sauce on the side. Conveniently attached to the Comfort Inn. We visited this establishment a few times as we were staying at the Comfort in for my daughter's graduation from SUNY Plattsburgh. Really cute establishment, lots of craft beers and IPA to choose from. They also provide well drinks and bartender was up to the challenge of making ANY drink requested. The first night (Friday 12/15) the wings were a little under cooked which was disappointing because they were really tasty. We had a late dinner on Saturday and everything was really good. My daughter said her burger was a little over cooked but the taste of the burger was really good so, she didn't mind. The french onion soup was awesome (I hate french onion soup, tried my husband's). Husband said it was one of the best he as ever tasted. His french dip was ok, but the french fries are really good, crunchy and seasoned. Beet Salad (what I had), was large and the raspberry dressing was really nice. Fried ravioli was good as well (so I was told). read more

We stopped in to grab something to eat, having to be in Plattsburgh to pick up something at Lowes. The restaurant was right down the street and we like to try brew pubs wherever we are. Parking is right outside the door and there was plenty of available space. Service as good and we tried the Angry Musket IPA, which was a solid middle of the road IPA. I ordered pasta with Spicy Marinara sauce and meatballs. My wife had the Roasted Beet Salad. Both dishes were good and I was really happy pasta and sauce that was pretty spicy but not over the top. Menu says they make their own pasta and it looked like it to me, though I am not a expert on homemade pasta. Meatballs were good quality too IMO. My wife enjoyed her salad which was good size. We roast vegetables all the time on the grill and the beets could have been more roasted, but it was not a big deal as overall she liked the salad. We will return again while in Plattsburgh at some point. read more

While camping in W. Chazy the weather and humidity not being conducive to outdoor cooking and eating especially with 3 young children we opted for a dinner out. Chose the Plattsburgh Brewing Company because my husband enjoys craft beers and likes to try new places he's never been. The second appeal was the house made pasta. The Mac N Cheese my kids split was very good and filled up the usually bottomless pits they each call a stomach. The pasta combination plate was a good way to sample a few pasta dishes. The lasagna was my favorite. John was our server and he was FANTASTIC! Wonderful with my kids, upbeat, energetic, and super fun and personable with excellent service. Definitely a place to stop by and enjoy a beer and some extra carbs. read more

I used to be a regular at this bar. I would go once a week for trivia night, only to have a beer and hang out with friends to unwind. The only redeeming quality of this place is the beer. The service is terrible, the worst in the business. They have the worst fries I have ever eaten. They are never crispy unless they are burnt. They are always soggy it's gross. The burgers are just ok. They are always over cooked. I got calamari there once and could not finish it. I have been to a diner in New Jersey that had better calamari than this place. Do not listen to the positive reviews of this place, seriously those people just got lucky. I've been there about 20 times because my friends love trivia. If it weren't for my friends, the trivia, and the beer I would never go there again. read more

Eah. I felt ignored from the moment we walked in but our waitress. But the manager walked around and was very friendly. We got the nachos with chicken, and the chicken was very dry. My boyfriend got the philly cheese steak with fries, he said it was very good. And the French fries were very crisp. I got the lasagna, it was not a pretty plate and wasn't anything special. My family has been here twice now. We have 3 young boys and they have a nice kids menu: entree, side, drink, and an ice cream sundae for $7.99! We've eaten right in the pub both times because the sining room wasn't open for dinner yet...we ate an early dinner both times. The kids love all the TV's and it's a treat to sit at the high tables (although there are also a few low table options as well). The menu has great variety and is gluten friendly for people like me! GF rolls available for the sandwiches and the burgers, and GF pizza crust too! My husband got to enjoy a nice beer on tap and the kids loved their Shirley Temples. I also must say that we had great service both times. Today was especially wonderful. Mr. J. Clark came over to our table a few times to chat with our boys and us and it was so nice! My kids loved him! We were all very happy with our meals and experience as a whole and will definitely be returning in the future! read more

My party and I were the first in the restaurant. We came right at opening(5 pm). We were also the first to order. We received our food at 6:20. Four other tables got their food before we did. I ordered a burger and a French onion soup. There was no broth in my soup, it had all been absorbed by the bread. My burger was well done and I ordered it medium rare. Also there were toppings that I didn't not order on it that I didn't like. I used to really like this place but after this experience I'm starting to change my mind. read more
