Loved this historic brewery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is huge, with plenty of indoor seating, a beautiful sunroom filled with windows, and outdoor seating as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It did feel like we were in The Sound of Music! The menu is on the smaller side and doesn't offer many dietary accommodations, but they were able to provide gluten-free crackers with the cheese plate. He even brought an extra serving of crackers for us. I also ordered an iceberg salad, which came with a generous amount of dressing. I do wish there had been a gluten-free beer or cider option available, as that would have made the experience even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, a really charming spot with great atmosphere and historic character.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a beautiful lodge-style bierhall with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent. The salmon with roasted vegetables and farro was the standout of the meal, and the zucchini fritters were superb. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and good beer. A highly recommend stopping when in Stowe!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Spacious, super nice surroundings and very high ceilings make for a great place to stop sample some beers and catch your breath from nearby hiking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My favorite: DUNKEL. You may get some inspiration to start yodeling while you are on the property....

Our first time coming to Stowe and it did not disappoint! This establishment was in our list to visit. My family and I came Memorial Day Weekend. At first, we tried to get reservations for Sunday evening but it didn't workout out. We tried again the following afternoon and were able to get a reservation for lunch. Staff was very friendly. Food was delicious and plentiful -- family style meal portions to share and there was a great selection of beer that we enjoyed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the vibe of the place when we first walked in[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and loved reading up on the history of the Von Trapps. We are very much looking forward to our next trip up!

Exceptional Brewery, Exceptional Beer, Exceptional Food! The finest European beers is the USA! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Gorgeous brew hall and restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is 5 Star! The Charcuterie is "Top Tier" with all the finest meats, cheeses, olives, etc. The brats and the pork belly are phenomenal. Great care was taken to seat us and explain menu options. My Highest Recommendation!

We tour the guided tour of the brewery thru the resort which was excellent. Stayed for dinner which was awesome and very reasonably priced. Liked it so much we went back again the next night and had another delicious meal. There were 6 of us and everyone totally was happy. Good service and great selection. And all the beers were really fresh and yummy. Wish I lived closer or I'd be there all the time!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We really enjoyed our stop to the scenic Von Trapp estate and brewery. The view of the Green Mountains must be seen to fully appreciate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The brewery had the German euro feel to it with very good beers and full food menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bratwurst, schnitzel, sausage, and pretzels available. The dining area may require reservations but there is an observation deck for walk ins as well. Service was very friendly and helpful. Parking is very large.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cool brewery on top of a mountain with tons of food options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Free parking beer to go available. Food here is a solid choice in my opinion.

Good beer, great food (a little pricy), cool space. We had the salmon, which was very good, the burgers (on the smaller side), and a pretzel. Service was kind and quick, and we enjoyed the experience.

Great beer and tasty food. We stopped here on our way home after a ski trip and were glad we did. The beer selection is extensive; the food options not so much--lots of traditional German fare: schnitzel, kielbasa, etc. All good. But limited. My kids did fine here. The service was friendly and fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was awesome: soaring ceilings, huge windows, and lots of taxidermy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Really enjoyed our meal here! This was our first stop upon arriving in Stowe on a snowy day, and it really was picturesque. The interior is open and spacious, but cozy. It has the perfect bier hall vibe. It was pretty quiet because it was an off time and due to the snow. I have been here when it's bustling. Service was friendly and fast. Their lagers are always great and pair perfectly with your food, whether you're having snacks or a meal. We shared a schnitzel style chicken sandwich with fries and fresh spatzle with roasted vegetables. We had a lot of great food on this trip, but this was one of my favorite meals. The chicken sandwich had great flavor and the chicken was crunchy without having too much breading. The fries were crisp and well seasoned. The spatzle was sooo soft and buttery and the mix of vegetables with the drizzle of balsamic glaze was the perfect balance. Highly recommend!

Service was very good! They had a Pub Trivia which was a lot of fun! Food was good. The avert Cheese soup was delicious and perfect for a snowy night. The pretzel with mustard and beer cheese was SO YUMMY! The Brats were good. My husband and daughter both had one . My daughter was not impressed but my hubby liked his. The spaetzle was tasty as well. Nice atmosphere! The cider and beer of course were delish!!

Let's talk experiences.. a brewery tour can be boring if you aren't into beer. But the Von Trapp Brewery has so much family history behind them (can I get a "the hills are alive" ) that this was an enjoyable tour. Set in the hills of Stowe, with beautiful views, you are immersed into a proud, strong, family run legacy. You start off in the event space that overlooks the entire brewery for some really stellar Birds Eye views of the space. Then they walk you through all the different areas explaining the process for famous Austrian beers. Standing next to the huge vats was super cool, as well as seeing the canning process. After the tour of the facility, we got to sample about 4 different beers. As someone who does not like beer, I was impressed that I liked one of the golden lagers, Helles! There is a restaurant attached, so we ate dinner there, to top off our Vermont Austria experience with some Bavarian food! If you are in the area, this is a must try! IG lentz_explore

Do they serve any allergy friendly accommodations?

According to my gluten intolerant /vegan cousin their gluten free buns on their imposible burger & other vegetarian options were the best that they had ever had. They're purchased from an outside vendor. So much so that they tried to buy just some…

The poutine was very good, but I'll grant you that it's maybe hard to get that wrong - but their gravy is on point! Service was great - got there around 5:40pm on a Wednesday, so the wait was non-existent and a table for 5 was easy to accommodate. Duncan was the server, who disclosed that he was new but you wouldn't know it from how he took orders and brought food out. Even threw him a curve by asking for the steak frites with an additional side of brussel sprouts, which he handled no problem - even though there weren't any sides I saw on the menu. Steak was medium rare and perfectly seasoned, and I think I mentioned the chimichurri but it deserves additional mention. Maybe you're wondering about beverages. The maple lemonade is great - it leans harder on the tart side and there are sweeter options around (Cliff House) but I love a lemonade that tastes... lemony. Pineapple cherry punch was also a hit - but that's secondhand hearsay, unlike my direct opinion on the chimichurri - which I would drink if I could. Definitely check this place out. The table near ours seemed to immensely enjoy their meal and also get great service from Duncan.

The crust was definitely a highlight coming out of the brick oven. We all also got burgers and shared the smoked wings. The smoked wings left some smoking nuts to be desired, and the dry rub was not very flavorful. I probably would not get that again. They were OK for wings, but definitely not for smoked wings. The burgers were very classic burgers delicious but nothing special our friends got the classic burger while we got the bench burger, which came with bacon and onions. Funnily enough I thought our french fries were kind of burnt but still good. Finally, we wrapped up with the cookie skillet and that was the absolute highlight. I wish I could have eaten four of those by myself. When we got there, the weight was about an hour. We were able to put our names down until they called us. Once we receded, the service was great, and the food came out very quickly. It is a really cute spot and Stow and probably one of the better casual sit down restaurants in the area. It's super tough to get seated anywhere during peak ski season so even an hour wait was on the shorter end for a lot of these spots

The ambiance is rustic and charming, old time feel and the wood in the fireplace was crackling and giving off an amazing atmosphere and smell! We were seated by a friendly young lady who said it was her first night back from college on winter break, so she didn't know the extra specials they had, but that was A-OK! The waiter finally came and bless his heart, while nice, was a little nervous, uncertain and uncomfortable. We asked if they had sherry or Port--each time, he had to go back and check. We finally got some Porto (after he came back to the table with 2 options / bottles in hand--all things considered, the Port was great). We finally ordered the Truffled Hummus (nothing truffled about it, it looked and tasted like store-bought hummus). We actually knew the taste was not going to be great at all by the bread that first came out - old bread, just heated. And incredibly yeasty dough. Not good. The Seafood Fra Diablo was a joke - it had frozen small shrimp in it and the TINIEST scallops I have ever seen. See the pictures. My husband and I both had the salmon--the entire dish was incredibly oily. Overall for the quality and taste, the place was overpriced too. We skipped the desert and called it a night. 2 Stars because I think the fireplace was amazing and the Port and the clam chowder was really good. (I forgot to mention it earlier, but my friend did think it was delicious.) Will unfortunately not be returning, still--good Port and soup, and all. Edit: my friend who ordered the Fra Diablo dish has been sick since she had this meal. Terrible experience.

Con - none of the 4 of us even liked our meals - they were inedible. We descended the narrow steep staircase into the dark dining room; outdoor seating was not open. The waitress promptly brought us menus and waters. There was a good variety of wines and we settled on the Sancerre. Charging for bread is not a good trend so $10 for 4 Parker House Rolls was disappointing. We also ordered the mussels and asiago fries. The chef seems to favor creamy white wine sauces - the added cream adds a heavy taste without adding flavor. The shrimp & sausage on mushroom ravioli had the cream sauce and cubes of sausage. The pasta primavera also had the cream sauce. It was super bland. We added chicken (see the photo of the chicken breast added to the top side of the dish not cooked in the dish). The salmon and its corresponding carrots were spiced with bebere which is very mild but not particularly enjoyable. And finally, the grilled rib-eye was bad, really bad. It was gelatinous and the worst steak we've ever had. I've only ever seen a steak cooked like this when it's cooked at too low a heat. We fed the leftover steak, chicken, and salmon to the dog.
