Really cool brewery on top of a mountain with tons of food options. Free parking beer to go available. Food here is a solid choice in my opinion.

We really enjoyed our stop to the scenic Von Trapp estate and brewery. The view of the Green Mountains must be seen to fully appreciate. The brewery had the German euro feel to it with very good beers and full food menu. Bratwurst, schnitzel, sausage, and pretzels available. The dining area may require reservations but there is an observation deck for walk ins as well. Service was very friendly and helpful. Parking is very large.

Great beer and tasty food. We stopped here on our way home after a ski trip and were glad we did. The beer selection is extensive; the food options not so much--lots of traditional German fare: schnitzel, kielbasa, etc. All good. But limited. My kids did fine here. The service was friendly and fast. The ambiance was awesome: soaring ceilings, huge windows, and lots of taxidermy.

Good beer, great food (a little pricy), cool space. We had the salmon, which was very good, the burgers (on the smaller side), and a pretzel. Service was kind and quick, and we enjoyed the experience.

Really enjoyed our meal here! This was our first stop upon arriving in Stowe on a snowy day, and it really was picturesque. The interior is open and spacious, but cozy. It has the perfect bier hall vibe. It was pretty quiet because it was an off time and due to the snow. I have been here when it's bustling. Service was friendly and fast. Their lagers are always great and pair perfectly with your food, whether you're having snacks or a meal. We shared a schnitzel style chicken sandwich with fries and fresh spatzle with roasted vegetables. We had a lot of great food on this trip, but this was one of my favorite meals. The chicken sandwich had great flavor and the chicken was crunchy without having too much breading. The fries were crisp and well seasoned. The spatzle was sooo soft and buttery and the mix of vegetables with the drizzle of balsamic glaze was the perfect balance. Highly recommend!

Service was very good! They had a Pub Trivia which was a lot of fun! Food was good. The avert Cheese soup was delicious and perfect for a snowy night. The pretzel with mustard and beer cheese was SO YUMMY! The Brats were good. My husband and daughter both had one . My daughter was not impressed but my hubby liked his. The spaetzle was tasty as well. Nice atmosphere! The cider and beer of course were delish!!

Let's talk experiences.. a brewery tour can be boring if you aren't into beer. But the Von Trapp Brewery has so much family history behind them (can I get a "the hills are alive" ) that this was an enjoyable tour. Set in the hills of Stowe, with beautiful views, you are immersed into a proud, strong, family run legacy. You start off in the event space that overlooks the entire brewery for some really stellar Birds Eye views of the space. Then they walk you through all the different areas explaining the process for famous Austrian beers. Standing next to the huge vats was super cool, as well as seeing the canning process. After the tour of the facility, we got to sample about 4 different beers. As someone who does not like beer, I was impressed that I liked one of the golden lagers, Helles! There is a restaurant attached, so we ate dinner there, to top off our Vermont Austria experience with some Bavarian food! If you are in the area, this is a must try! IG lentz_explore

We really enjoyed our visit to the bierhall. Beautiful facility. We sat in the atrium area which offers pretty views of the property. We really enjoyed the beer and the food. We did the cheese board appetizer and the bratwurst appetizer. Delicious. The service was super. The beer selection is good. Definitely recommend a stop by.

Maybe I'm a Sound of Music fangirl, but the only thing I ever knew about the town of Stowe is that the von Trapp family had a brewery there. I just kind of thought everyone knew this, but when I sent friends and family photos from the brewery, they were all surprised. So I'm here to tell you that Johannes von Trapp, the youngest and (as of 2025) last surviving child of Georg and Maria von Trapp, manages the Trapp family resort/brewery in Stowe, VT, where the family eventually settled in the 40s. Since we were staying in Burlington and had a free day, we decided to check out the brewery and Ben & Jerry's. The brewery is large and has lots of taxidermy to look at. The outdoor area was perfect for the sunny day. We each got a beer to try - I had the radler, which was less citrusy than I usually prefer, but refreshing. We didn't have any food, but it all sounded really delicious, with specialties like schnitzel, spaetzle, bratwurst, etc. They have a small gift shop that was full of some really cute items, and we all liked the logo - I was lucky enough to get some coasters as a free souvenir. So happy to have checked this one off my list.

Lovely restaurant with quality food. We were seated in the solarium which gave us a nice view of outside. The food was excellent. Everything was expertly prepared and perfectly seasoned. They have a terrific selection of beers and a few wines. Our waitress was missing in action for a period of time but I think they were understaffed. She was fabulous when we had her attention and we weren't left without anything for too long. I think if you are visiting the Von Trapp Lodge, the Bierhall is worth a visit more than their main dining hall. All of the best offerings can be found here.

Von Trapp Brewing is everything you look for when you are looking for good food, excellent drinks, and a nice atmosphere. First, you can't ask more from the location. The scenery is amazing. They have an awesome outdoor area as well as an indoor dining and bar area. Whether you are here with a small party or a giant group, they can easily accommodate your needs. The food was excellent. We began with their pretzels. The two were gone in seconds. We also ordered the following: Deer Braised Pull Pork, Johannesburger, Grilled Bratwurst Sandwich, and Chicken Fingers. Everything was delicious. I also ordered an amber ale beer (Vienna). I'm hoping that this is available at home. It hit the spot. The bartender who helped us out was great. He was very attentive. Everyone, from the host to the other employees were very helpful. Vonn Trapp Brewing is a must when you visit Stowe, Vermont.

The facility and vibe is beautiful here, especially on a snowy afternoon! The employees were friendly and quick and the food and beer were really good. They have a nice selection of both and the place is large enough where it never feels uncomfortably crowded. Will definitely return on my next trip to VT!

Really enjoyed: ambiance of eating outside on the patio with great views. Spätzle was so good- crispy on the outside and well-seasoned. Bauernwurst was unexpectedly great (I got it because they were out of brats, and I liked it even better- it had a slight spiciness!) Not a fan: the soft pretzels were pretty dry and bland. Especially disappointing because the pretzel bun for the sausage was excellent! Just ok- service- seemed pretty disinterested. Make sure to put the restaurant into your GPS or follow signs for the restaurant and not the lodge, which is on a different road.

We loved the chill vibe of the location, as they had an open outdoors area with seating and lawn games, including disc golf and corn hole. There was also an outdoor patio with a couch and stage for live performances. It was a place I could see myself kicking back at on the regular if I were local to the area. The location was not serving food when we visited though a food truck was located on site and said it would be opening in May. They did have complementary bags of pretzels available for guests to take. We also enjoyed the gift shop and the fun merch for sale. We purchased a hat. My husband enjoyed his beer and regrets not purchasing a four pack to take home.

So while on a trip and looking for a spot to grab some lunch naturally we ended up picking this spot. I've been aware of Lost Nation Brewing but it's been since 2016/2017 when I had a beer from them last. To start they have ample parking and have a nicely painted mural on the side of their building. They have an indoor section we did not check that out and instead sat at the bar in the outdoor section. How can you pass up looking into the kitchen and also the wafting scents of burgers, fries and everything else being cooked. Despite a chillier day than most we have had lately it was worth it! Besides their own brews they had guest taps, guest botttles/cans, and even some cocktails including some spiked apple cider for that fall feeling drink. For beer fans they even had a rotating Hillfarmstead DIPA for a guest tap. I ended up getting their Kolsch and my wife got their gose. Both very solid beers and worth grabbing. Food wise they had a couple burgers, fried chicken sandwich, pulled pork, turkey sandwich, hot dogs, and some small plates. My wife ended up choosing the burger and I got their fried chicken sandwich. She enjoyed the burger and thought it was cooked very well. The chicken sandwich was delicious, the fact it was smothered in honey did make it a bit messy to eat but tasted so good! The fries we got were massive and well seasoned and the side of pickles were great too. Would be a no brainer to get either one again if we visit again! Bartender was friendly and we didn't wait long at all for the drinks or food! Well made brews paired along side delicious food, really what more could you ask for? If you visit during warmer weather it appeared they have a huge outdoor area further back than we were in as well! If you like visiting breweries add this to your list to check out!

Duncan was the server, who disclosed that he was new but you wouldn't know it from how he took orders and brought food out. Even threw him a curve by asking for the steak frites with an additional side of brussel sprouts, which he handled no problem - even though there weren't any sides I saw on the menu. Steak was medium rare and perfectly seasoned, and I think I mentioned the chimichurri but it deserves additional mention. Maybe you're wondering about beverages. The maple lemonade is great - it leans harder on the tart side and there are sweeter options around (Cliff House) but I love a lemonade that tastes... lemony.
