We purged some old sports things and got store credit, used it to buy a new Giant bike. Great store and fantastic deals, service!

Meh. Better than taking stuff to Goodwill for no money and not the hassle of selling it online for more. Your call.

The store is well-stocked with most of the big brands, and the guys doing the labor know their stuff. Skate sharpening was only ten dollars, and they put a good, clean edge on my skates. It's easy to make an appointment online. Baking my skates only cost twenty-five dollars and didn't require an appointment, just a bout a half hour to complete it (and the skates felt much better afterward). From the other reviews, I'm not sure where the requirement to buy skates in store came from, since mine were hand-me downs from a friend. This is definitely a place to go for equipment, as they'll scan and size your feet for the right fit of skates, they'll help make sure your other equipment fits, and they have a huge selection of sticks too. Once it's time to upgrade my Sherwood 5000 and my hand me down skates, this will he the place I go. They're a bit out of the way if you're not in the Roswell/Alpharetta area, but it's been worth the drive from Decatur for me every time.

Disappointed with Customer Service at Pure Hockey…read more We purchased a CCM Trigger 9 from Pure Hockey on 12/21 as a Christmas gift for our son. On 1/4, we had it cut to size at the same location. After just three uses, we noticed a crack in the back of the blade near the toe--an unusual spot for a stick to break. Had it been a typical break, we'd chalk it up to bad luck, but this was clearly a defect. We submitted a claim to CCM, but they referred us back to Pure Hockey. When we brought the stick in, the manager admitted he had never seen a break like this but refused to help in any way. He kept repeating that CCM is strict with returns and would not even attempt to contact them on our behalf. When we asked if Pure Hockey could offer a discount on a replacement, they refused. We understand we were a week past CCM's 30-day warranty, but given the circumstances, we would have appreciated any effort to assist us. Even a simple, "Let me reach out to CCM and see what I can do" would have gone a long way. Instead, the attitude was dismissive. We want to support brick-and-mortar stores, but when customer service fails, there's no reason not to shop online and save money. Unfortunately, Pure Hockey has lost our business.

Find a sporting goods or hardware store, and harmlessly cruise the aisles, stopping every once in a to pick up an item, scrutinize it, shake one's head, and put it back, maybe even in the right place that it came from. ş So, I plodded along until I was standing in front of the fishing reel counter. I saw it then. A small micro-sized spinning reel with a large yellow sticker that declared "Clearance! $35". I tried various angles to see what information I could obtain visually, but some evil genius had positioned it in such a way as to make it impossible to develop a buying interest without paging a sales clerk to the area. I reflexively glanced at the time on my cellphone: 3:44pm. So, I67 began my search for an associate to help me. 3:50. Nary a soul in sight..Then, I spotted a Press For Service button beside the live bait cooler so I pressed it: 3:57. While I was waiting I thought about all the times I had found items of interest to me in their flyers, only to discover that store and internet sales were both out of stock. In fact, I had never scored a single item from their ads, out of dozens of attempts. Finally a young woman bustled up. No key to open the display counter. 4:06m. She located a manager, who opened the display and handed me my reel. I liked it so off to checkout. Time:4:28pm. Time to purchase a little fishing reel came to 31 minutes. But, hey, that's better than it might've been at Wally World.

The level of service at Perimeter is exceptional--thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely elevated. Every associate I encountered greeted me & greeted me warmly. I think it was Bethany who sold me on the membership, but she made the experience personalized, not forced or sale-sy. She started a fitting room for me while I shopped & I always love that. She also told me about the resale section and I got a brand new jacket at a sale price. I also always love that The gentleman in the shoe department was equally impressive, providing expert guidance that made my selection feel confident and informed. He was always there but still gave me lots of space; you get me. Much bigger selection all around compared to the Expressway and the sale items were still relevant. Overall, a refined and exceptional shopping experience. I'm already enjoying my new membership--thank you to the entire team!

Growing up in the PNW, I've been frequenting Recreational Equipment Inc. Co-Op for decades…read more Atlanta has several locations and some better than others. While they are much smaller than the Seattle's, they are more comprehensive gear shops around the Metro. This Perimeter REI is the best in our area. Sure, all Metro locations carry mostly same things plus or minus few inventory items / sizes. For me, it comes down to the staff and currently, this Sandy Springs REI has the most competent and attentive people. Recently, I ordered several hiking boots online and had to return one. I decided to return it to a store rather than by mail. I was educated on such huge staff knowledge differences on simple return process amongst local REI locations. It seems our consumer service level in most places have declined much in the past few years. However, as a Co-Op, REI has mostly kept up their service level even with my recent experience at another location. I appreciate Atlanta has many REI locations in a city that has very limited outdoor gear shops. One thing I absolutely find helpful at REI is their rock ramp to test the boots. Though when I was visiting many were shopping for OC sneakers. The staff here were more knowledgeable and helpful especially if you are early in your outdoor habits. Enjoy!
