Not here to bad talk anyone, just a review of my experience. I have some skis to sell. Their website has a video about how they will buy your equipment no matter the season. So I thought, great! It's July, let's get rid of the skis. Well apparently that is their corporate website that has that video. The sales person at the PIAS in Santa Rosa was pretty rude in curtly explaining that after doing a google search for PIAS, going to their website and watching a video, I should've continued further and found their website specifically for the Santa Rosa store, in which case it is "clearly explained" that they don't buy skis until November. I definitely take the heat for trying to sell skis in July. My bad. But after watching the video, it seemed to be their policy to take equipment any time of year. Also, what would've been a nice response to me is something like, "Oh, yeah, I'm sorry. That's our corporate website. I'm really sorry for the confusion, but each store is franchised, and we have different..." whatever. I'm sure this is a fine store for your used sports equipment needs. But would it kill you to be a little polite in explaining your policies? I won't be going back. read more

I absolutely love this place. Without the gym during the pandemic, I couldn't really do my isolate workouts. Decided to come in and pick up a few dumb bells and ankle weights. Wow! It makes it so easy to do intense workouts at home. I'm loving the ankle weights so much and can do so many different types of workouts. The staff is really cool and helpful too! It seems like the dumbbells 10 lbs to 30 lbs are always sold out. The selection is decent. You have to keep checking back in. I was in the market for a used treadmill. I tried Craigslist but the treadmills were either overpriced or 10 years old. Most required the buyer to pick up which is a hassle (renting a pickup truck and hiring help). I went to Play it Again Sports and Billy and Steven helped me out. I found the perfect treadmill and they offered to deliver it to Healdsburg for a fee. I bought it yesterday and Steven delivered this morning. They offered a one year warranty on parts and labor and the only thing I have to pay is a trip charge to cover the technician's time. We purchased a used water rower which turned out to have a cracked tank. I contacted Play It Again Sports and spoke to Manny who immediately started to work on resolving the issue. After sending him photos he reached out to the company rep, ordered the replacement tank, and provided frequent updates on the status. Once the item arrived we brought the rower in and the tank was replaced, all at no charge to us. Buying a previously owned pieced of equipment always carries a certain degree of risk however I was both pleased, and highly impressed, with their overall approach and the determination to make things right. In the market for a quality spin bike for my home, I first tried Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. It wasn't til I went down to Play It Again that I found what I was looking for. Once home, it made the most dreadful scraping noise, which I shared with Manny over the phone....he was at my house within half an hour to remedy the situation--which--if I'd had half a brain I could have done myself! Really impressed with these guys, super friendly and customer service is their #1 priority. Manny was helpful over the phone, as I didn't want to drive up from Marin to buy a Little League approved bat, but I'm also not crazy enough to buy a $350 brand new bat for our son. I told him there are kids starving in this country! Is there a Goodwill or Salvation Army for this kind of stuff? OMG, kids' sports ain't cheap, if it didn't bring so much joy and passion to our son, along with outdoor exercise, I'd say the hell with it. Manny made my purchase simple and fast by providing all the deets over the phone about their used bats. He was also really patient with me. I immediately purchased the Yelp deal ($50 for $75 redeemable voucher) and used it to buy my son a Junior-approved Easton bat. The used bat was $99, do the math ~ score! I was definitely a happy camper...not too sure about our son. He really wants a new bat, a new helmet, new gloves, new catcher's gear, etc. The list never ends. If my husband undermines me and returns the bat for a new one via Amazon, I'd highly recommend he purchase one from these guys. Hubby tends to buy stuff online, which can be just as expensive, especially sports equipment. I'd rather go into a store and see for myself. I have driven by this store several times recently and noticed it was always busy with customers. After our gym closed I decided to go in and see their equipment. Even with lots of customers buying things and folks like me with questions, Billy the store manager made time for me and took care of everyone there. With all of my questions answered, I ended up purchasing a great home gym. Manny got me scheduled within days for home delivery and assembly. Stopped by today to take a look at some options for a starter bench and weight set for my teenage son for an upcoming birthday. Honestly wasn't expecting much more than ideas, but hoping for some info at the minimum. I wish I caught the name of the person who was helping me but he was so knowledgeable and showed me every possible option in the store both new and used including something in the outside back corner of the store. Turns out, I found exactly what I was looking for without breaking the bank and he squeezed in an extra deal for me at the end and loaded everything in the car. I recently went into the store and immediately regret I even went in. The reason why I went there was to look for dumbbells. There was a young kid helping me find what I needed. He offered different dumbbells at different prices. At the register there was a very smarmy, aggressive, used cars salesman. He immediately did the transaction and it was much more than what I was told. When I told him I didn't want the dumbbells anymore he was aggressive and told me the transaction was already done. He kept pushing the receipts towards me and telling me the transaction was already done. He refused to listen to me or even do a refund. He said I couldn't find a better deal anywhere. He says he prices his products the best and is here to serve us the community. Obviously he isn't here to serve the community when he won't even listen to his customers. Yes, I could've received a better deal online or at target. Needless to say I will never return to play it again sports and I will never recommend this place to anyone I know. read more

I love Play it Again Sports! I bought my stationary exercise bike there several years ago at a great price and it's worked perfectly. I've ridden the heck out of it and wore out the tension handle a couple of times, both times I called the store and their technician was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and order my replacement part for me. They didn't even charge me for the part! I also bought my Auntie an exercise bike when she wanted one and she's very happy with it. I bought a used Schwinn elliptical from Play It Again Sports in May of 2017. It worked fine until it locked up last month. I called to see if they had a service crew. They didn't, but recommended Fitness Fixers. I called Erik at Fitness Fixers, and he did a great job replacing the drive belt and tuning up the elliptical, at a reasonable price. A few days later, while cleaning out the desk, I found my original receipt for the machine, and was surprised to see a hand written warranty, covering two years! Who warranties used equipment for 2 years? Play It Again Sports does! I took them the receipts, and they reimbursed the repair cost ( less $60 for the house call, which was spelled out in the warranty) on the spot. This company has been around for a number of years, obviously because they provide great customer service. I highly recommend this business. read more

I went in for the first time yesterday around 5:30. Play It Again has a wide selection and had exactly what i was looking for! Unfortunately, the man on staff was not wearing his mask when I entered the store. He then put his mask on and within the 10 minutes of me being in there he took his mask off again and answered the phone. Made me wildly uncomfortable because of Covid. As soon as I noticed his mask was off I left. Irresponsible because it is indoor shopping. If covid weren't happening I would have gladly supported this business. If you stay open please actually enforce employees to wear their masks otherwise you will continue to lose money. read more

This review is only for ordering and crossfit related fitness equipment. They lack the quality equipment that is used for functional fitness that you will find in a crossfit box. I wish they would carry more recognized brands such as, rogue fitness, kettlebell kings, rep fitness, etc. If you are looking for high quality crossfit stuff, this is not the spot to look. Every once and a while they will have a good price on concept 2 rowers but you need to check them out because sometimes the pictures online are misleading. I ordered a product on July 10, and now as of this review it's the 27th ...I was hoping the product would be in by now. I understand that they had to order from a catalog still slow on there end. Going forwards I will not be ordering new products from here unless it's on the sales floor. Other than my review, the store has some nice finds and it is worth checking out. read more

Fantastic customer service! Feeling sick of being stuck at home and unable to go the gym, I called Play it Again Sports to inquire about treadmills. Although, due to the stay at home order, I was unable to go the store to check out the inventory, Manny provided details about the available treadmills within my budget. I ended up purchasing a treadmill best suited to my needs over the phone (yes, it was odd buying something like this over the phone, sight unseen).
