On a lark we were going to personalize a putter we picked up for a child. First decided maybe see if we can change the grip. Remembered there's this store in Santa Rosa. Made our way up got there about 45 mins before closing. Greeted right away. Politely asked if we needed assistance with anything. We asked about grips. Both guys pointed and directed us where to go. One said he would be with us in just a moment. Which he was. He asked who it was for what size hands and he showed us a few. We talked to ourselves and he heard rainbow because oh man did he deliver. It was a bit more than the low end ones we were looking at (24.99) but it couldn't be more spot on to what this child LOVES! Always fast and good service. Only had my clubs re-gripped, but they finished it in the shop while I waited. In terms of new gear they have everything. You could try out different clubs and can get fitted the same day. Prices are about normal as you would expect for golf equipment. But the added benefit of not having to wait from TGW or other sites for shipping is a plus. read more

The customer service by the team at this store is usually very good. Today it was simply extraordinary. The service and support I received from Tanner G. was out of this world. Golf Mart continues to repair my son's broken Calaway irons each time he breaks a shaft. Today, they also gave him a special edition ball marker (that his high school baseball team requires the players to use) after his was accidentally lost out of his pocket. Great stuff. We went to Golf Mart for some shoes for my husband. He was not sure what he wanted. But we were lucky enough to get Dennis as our salesman. He talked to my husband at great lengths to find out what he was looking for in his shoes for best performance. He really took the time to listen to what he had to say and what the expectations were going to be for his shoes. The staff at golf Mart know their stuff and would help you in any given time. April 2019: Came in today to have new grips put on 10 clubs. Got a good price and no charge for labor. Consulted me and offered several models then steered me to grips that satisfied my particular needs. It must be Spring season inventory blow out. There are many dozens of used golf club sets for sale. Outside the front door there are six sets of clubs with give away prices. Older clubs yet good models (Pings, Taylormade) 3 - SW for $79! You can't do better for the new golfer's first set. There's at least a 100 different golf club bags on display. Forget Big 5 or Dick's Sporting Goods for golf equipment. They carry overpriced junk. Please see update below: I was fortunate enough to receive an unexpected influx of cash so I decided it would be time to upgrade the golf bag. I brought in two Ping drivers to get new grips and swap the shafts out and was told they would be ready the coming Monday; I was in the store the previous Friday morning. The clubs sat untouched, and would not be ready until the earliest three days from now. No one thought it imperative to let the customer know that the promise of repairs being done would not be getting done and the staff answering the phone was nonchalant and dismissive. My current driver is a G410 plus. I replaced the fairway woods and hybrid to accompany a new set of irons I had ordered. I did not buy my irons from here only because I had a 30% veteran discount from the manufacturer. I did however purchase two new fairway woods and new hybrid. Sticking to a brand that be played for a while now and ended up spending nearly $900 on those three clubs, a dozen balls and a couple head covers. I looked at what my driver would cost if I were to buy it used from let's say Golfmart among other retailers and the prices I found ranged from at low end $220 for one in poor condition upwards to $400 for something more pristine. I would never expect to get that much for mine in trade however the offer was ridiculously low and taking into consideration the failure to make the repairs and at the bare minimum informing me about the fact they wouldn't be done for at least two more days I think my money is better spent elsewhere than this particular store. Update: I was just called by the regional manager. I was not asking for anything and what was offered was beyond professional and what I preferred to accept was a simply an apology for the lack of customer service skills displayed by the youth that were working the store yesterday. Dismissive and nonchalant are not a good look when the customer base typically have expendable income (not my case I have three kids ‍) however that call from a personal cell meant the world to me. After only buying off the rack clubs, I decided to take the advice of several very good golfers and get fit by a "pro" so I could take my game to the next level. I was in the market for a new set of PING irons and was surprised to be fit as a black dot. I had tape tested before and knew that I was + a couple degrees but it was the first time trying PING irons so, I took the pros word for it and purchased a brand new set of PING G Irons black dot. My game took a hit. I chalked it up to the fact that I was trying to buy my swing and what was really needed was more practice. Fast forward 6 years and still not clicking with my PINGs, I went in for another fitting in a different state and what do you know... white dot. +3 degrees! No where near black. I felt like the TGM fitting was bunk at the time, that the fitter was just phoning it in, but had nothing to back it up other than a feeling. Now I know. Getting fit is key. If you feel like you got a bogus fit, talk to the manager and have someone else fit you. I wasted years of what could have been good times on the links because of a crappy employee who probably had no real interest in golf whatsoever. Live and learn. Crappy fitting aside, TGM has a decent selection of gear, competitively priced. I just wouldn't get fit there again. read more

Went to the Golf Mart in Santa Rosa to get my wife some new clubs as she has had the same starter set for the past ten years. We were greeted by James Fish who was very knowledgable, friendly, and patient with us as we had many questions involving this major purchase. My wife being petite, Mr. Fish analyzed my wife's swing, had her try several different manufacturers clubs, then custom fitted her to the Ping set she felt felt the best. We had been shopping and researching clubs for my wife for the past month both in stores and online and found the selection of women's clubs to be the best (by far) at Golf Mart. The price was slightly lower than the going MSRP plus they had sales on bags and shoes that we took advantage of. James Fish also threw in a case of balls for us! I took advantage of the time to get my older Taylor Mades regripped so I can now enjoy more days at the course with my wife. Thanks Mr. Fish and the rest of your crew there at Golf Mart! We were visiting the Santa Rosa area prepping for our next round of golf. I WAS in the market for a new 3 wood and found this shop locally based off Yelp reviews. My partner and I were not greeted at the door but as we were looking at the wall there was a man who approached us and ONLY spoke to my PARTNER, notifying him feel free to hit any clubs in their indoor simulator while I had a 3 wood in hand and completely disregarded me. I did not feel any comfort or welcoming atmosphere for me to trial or even want to purchase a club and support a local business. My partner was able to sample and hit some woods and drivers, then he proceeds to only talk to my partner and say "oh are you getting her into golf?" After the conversation that he got into golf due to me playing he only continued to speak directly to my partner. My guy wanted golf shoes for Christmas so we went to this location in Santa Rosa. It was a big store and we had the best help from Carlo. He assisted us for well over half an hour. I have to admit, my guy is a pain when it comes to shoes. They always have to be "comfortable" which sometimes means they look like old man shoes. However because he was buying golf shoes, he was even more picky. Carlo was very patient and I was so grateful for that. He brought out different sizes for us of many different styles of shoe. He was telling us what works for him and that was super helpful. Honestly, Carlo should be on commission if he's not already because we ended up buying two pair of shoes. He didn't talk us into it, but we saw the comfort and style of both pair of shoes so we walked out the door with two pair. If not for Carlo we would've walked out with one pair. My wife purchased seven tops from The Golf Mart last weekend. We live in Redding, three hours north, and were visiting our daughter in San Rafael, an hour further south. Unfortunately, the cashier, didn't check carefully and failed to take off a shoplifting tag that one of the tops had attached to it. The good value visit became not a good value when we had to throw away one of the tops. The salesmen in this store are great ! They are very friendly and helpful. I traded in some older clubs and used the money to regrip all of my Callaway clubs. I was also able to buy just one club to add to my current set. The selection of clubs and clothing is great and there is always something I need to buy when I go into this store. When I drive by this store, I always stop and make a purchase to support this business. Fortunately for me, I don't live close by or I could be making daily purchases at this Golf Mart ! I have bought most of my equipment from these guys, always a fair price but I was recently impressed by the assistant Manager Matthias, a customer TP shat on my R11s shattered Taylor wasn't stepping g up and he went to bat and got Taylor to do the right thing! Wow! These folks ROCK! I had dropped by the store to pick up golf balls and supplies and spotted a golf bag that was tucked away in the corner of the store.. I went back 3 weeks later to purchase it and it was gone!!! It was a 2012 model that was sent out to another location for a tent sale or some such... They made at least 4-5 phone calls while I was standing there to try to retrieve the golf bag and promised they would do what they could to track it down! I've heard such great things about this place so I thought I'd give it a try. I was in the marked for a pair of shoes and some new metal-woods. First the clubs. The guy working let me swing on their launch monitor. Nothing special about it. Wouldn't let me hit of their artificial gras and made me hit of their trampled down mat not meant to be hit off of because the "computer couldn't pick it up"...(so fix it is what I thought). I'm taking some swing looking at the monitor and he starts spouting off stuff clearly showing he has no idea what he's talking about. I won't get into the details but things like incorrectly telling me what shaft stiffness I should play (I'm under 35, was hitting my 3 wood 240+ on the launch monitor off their sh**** mats and said I should be using a regular stiffness just to give you an idea) then when I asked what custom shafts they carry he said "I didn't need one" when in actuality it was because he didn't carry them...ouch. Then the shoes. I was coming for a specific pair of shoes and they had them...great. I look closer they are mis-labeled and $40 more than they should be. They had my size but not the color I cam for. The (same) guy started pressuring me saying he could order them and they'd come...ya so could I. I could order them without sales tax and they'd be at my door in 48 hours...you'd charge me tax and they'd be there "in about a week". No thanks. Its a store thats meant for the older crowd who aren't tech savvy or need to be told what clubs they "need". All their stuff is way more than online, and its really not good for anything more than trying clubs out so you can get what you really want somewhere else. read more
