After having craved an Açaí Bowl for a few months, I finally caved in so I stopped by here since I was already shopping in Dania Pointe. Upon entry, it was pretty busy on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I ordered the Nutella bowl since I was in the mood for some chocolate. They have additional sides like almond butter, coconut flakes, etc. My cousin was going to order a smoothie but unfortunately the employee said they have barely any ingredients in stock at the moment so it wouldn't be possible to make one. We decided to just share my bowl instead and we ate inside in hopes that the rain would die down. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing so I can see why people dine in. There's a cute little bench that's good for photos if you want to capture yourself in the beachy vibe. First time visit and there was a lot to look at! Luckily the gentleman behind the counter was able to give some recommendations. I wanted a smoothie and one he recommended was the dolce. I wanted something with some substance as this was my lunch so it was perfect. It was a great mix of ingredients. My only qualm would be that the 16oz smoothie came out to $11. The female employee behind the counter was very pleasant as she took my order of a 16oz orange power smoothie which is made with orange, pineapple, vanilla protein, and coconut milk. I did ask if the coconut milk makes the smoothies sweet or bland and I was told that the coconut milk gives the smoothies a better taste and I had the option to use a different kind of milk. I decided to have the smoothie made with the coconut milk. The female employee called my name letting me know that my smoothie was ready. As I grabbed a straw and slowly took my first sip, I said a silent prayer that I didn't waste $9. Moment of truth...it was really good! It was thick (probably from the vanilla protein), fruity, and slightly sweet. Okay Playa Bowls I may have to come check you out again sometime. Went today with my twin granddaughters. They love açaí bowls, and since we were out we thought it would be a treat. Unfortunately there are no high chairs for people with families. So that was sad, but we held them while we ate and shared with them. It was also sad to see the girl just leaning across the kitchen counter scrolling on her phone. Worst Experience Ever - Do Not Waste Your Time! I cannot express how disappointed I am with my recent visit to Playa Bowls in Dania. I walked in to an empty store and, somehow, ended up waiting 45 minutes without even getting my food! The staff? Completely unprofessional. Instead of taking orders and preparing food, they were hanging out in the back. After what felt like an eternity, I approached the counter angrily, only to find out they hadn't even started my order! It was only when I demanded my food that they bothered to start making it. At that point, I was beyond frustrated. I requested a refund and walked out, absolutely disgusted by the lack of service. Save yourself the time and frustration and NEVER come here. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any establishment. My friend got an influencers invite to try the new Playa Bowls location in Dania Beach. I was excited because I've heard great things about Playa Bowls from other influencers; so to be able to tag along to this event, I was excited. When we walked in, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a beachy ambience; the decor around the restaurant with beach themed. Their menu is huge with multiple items and options of smoothie bowls that you can order and create. They have a multitude of bases, toppings, and fruit options. I ordered the Coco berry which had a coconut base with strawberries and blueberries on top. My friend ordered the mucho mango, which had a mango base with coconut, strawberries, and honey; they also substituted the blueberries for bananas. This was my first time ever trying a smoothie bowl, and I am hooked. The smooth creaminess of the coconut base pairs so well with the tartness of the strawberries and blueberries, which were settled with the honey drizzle on top. The Mucho mango was like a burst of tropical flavor. You had the thickness of the mango base, which complemented the sweetness of the banana and coconut. The smoothie was fine, okay flavor but the consistency was very liquid-y. Also upon receiving it was overflowing on the lid and making a mess. CONs: Service / Experience/ Proper Staffing. I wish I was exaggerating, but I waited 30minutes in line to get my order taken with only 8 people in front of me. This was due to being understaffed. The cashier kept pausing taking orders to make smoothies too. I came in during lunch time on a Friday for reference. Everyone seemed to lacked experience / managing skills, but were nice enough. After ordering, I waited about 15 minutes for the 2 items. I had to keep walking back & forth inside to pick up items, because smoothie & bowls are picked up on opposite sides of the business, very inconvenient (especially when you have to keep walking past a long line of already annoyed guests.) They're supposed to be kosher certified but I see violations left and right in this place. I'm definitely reporting it. I took a picture of the certificate on my way out. The bowls are inconsistent, sometimes good and most of the time icy and gross. They have a bunch of young blondes that work there that care more about socializing than attending to the needs of customers and they're rude!
