I love having a healthy place right in Flagler village! I come here regularly after a workout, and the girls who are usually working when I go are super nice. They have a pretty good variety of acai bowls, flatbreads, smoothies, quesadillas, avocado toasts, an I'm probably missing something. I usually get a design your own spirulina bowl, but you can also pick one from the menu. It's delicious, but my only complaint is that the base has been pretty icy and hard every time. The consistency seems like it's taken out of a freezer, and I feel like they should either make them fresh or figure out a different way to store it so it's not so hard. This review is regarding food preparation. As someone with experience in the food industry and Food Serv certification there were a few things that stuck out to me from my recent visit. A young lady made toast for me and the guest before me. The toast was placed on the same area where she was cutting the cheese and other toppings. The bag that the bread was in was also on the prep area. There was no parchment paper or foil or anything just toast for the customer on the same surface as everything else. When the young lady was done adding the toppings to the toast she placed the to go container right on the surface except this time it was placed on the cheese used for the caprese toast and guess who got the next piece, me! Now onto my toast as the young lady was making the toast she was walking from back to front holding it in her hand, it wasn't until she added the almond slices that she placed it on a piece of paper which it should've been on from the beginning. I was able to observe the making of two toast orders, a smoothie and a bowl because it took nearly 30 minutes & the shop wasn't even busy. It was after 6 pm on a Sunday. read more

We've been waiting since May for Grain and Berry to finally open. After months of the opening being pushed back, we finally made it on opening day. Although we definitely were not one of the first 100 people, (we didn't much need free bowls for a whole year) all the cashiers and managers on shift still had smiles on their faces and were very helpful in answering my daughter's questions. She got a spirulina bowl with a half portion of granola, topped with apples, kiwi, and mango. Since she wanted to share with her mom, they had to request the Nutella on the side. I decided on a smoothie-- Just peachy. I had asked the cashier to omit the vanilla protein powder, however, I think it ended up making its way into the smoothie anyway since I could taste the vanilla and it had a powdery taste. My wife also tried my smoothie and did not like it at all. I wouldn't be eager to come back right away, but I would potentially come back after they work out some of the first day kinks or if my go to smoothie place was closed. One other thing, they didn't have their vegan/gluten free granola in, which yes, I can understand to a degree (since it was opening day), but someone who couldn't eat gluten couldn't just go with the regular. We got to sample their 3 bowls (spirulina, acai, pittaya). All of these are sweetened with fruit (banana, pineapple) not sugar. We also tried 2 of their flatbreads. They are all plant based, no meat.
